00:34forces launched attacks on the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
00:42Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Ana Marrero from the Telesur headquarters
00:45in Caracas, Venezuela.
00:47Let me begin with the news, stay with us.
01:01In Venezuela, the first meeting of ministers and authorities of the scientific and technological
01:06area of Albatizipi concluded.
01:08The executive secretary of the islands, Jorge Arreaza, welcomed the guests as ministers
01:12from various countries and urged the care of the people in the face of the new technologies
01:18dominated by the West.
01:19In addition, Arreaza emphasized that technological sovereignty should be built.
01:25The executive secretary also affirmed that the government's own capacities should be
01:30used to develop the protection for the people from the injury of the technologies in the
01:36hands of the centers of powers.
01:47With our own capabilities, with our own data and information storage centers, take care
01:56of our people, protect our people from the dangers of these technologies that are now
02:00in the hands of billionaires, multi-millionaires, power centers that threaten the minds, the
02:09spirit and the social life of the countries and peoples of the world.
02:16Science and technology minister of Venezuela, Gabriela Jimenez, ensured that the proposal
02:20of President Nicolás Maduro aims at building up the future of the peoples of the Global
02:25South.
02:29President Nicolás Maduro's proposal for ALBA is a plan to build up the future.
02:34It is a proposal that has been accepted by each of the member presidents of the alliance,
02:38what's its will?
02:40The proposal's will is to train our new young scientists who do not have to travel to the
02:44old world, to the universities of the old world, to other hegemonic and dominant educational
02:52models so that from our spaces they obtain the capabilities by means of our culture and
02:57our intercultural dialogue.
03:01In a phone call with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, the Venezuelan President
03:05Nicolás Maduro emphasized the significance of the UN system taking firm stance to protect
03:10the rights of the Venezuelan migrants.
03:12Through a communique, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Iván Gil emphasized the purpose of this request
03:17is to secure that the immediate and unconditional release of the 238 compatriots unjustly detained
03:25in the concentration camps in El Salvador, where they have been imprisoned without any
03:30judicial process and not provided of the right to the defense.
03:40Venezuela rejects Chile's move to take before the ICC a case that has long been resolved
03:45in order to attack the sovereignty of Venezuela and police U.S. agendas.
03:49In this context, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry published the following statements using social
03:54media.
03:55The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the absurd farce that the government
04:00of Chile intends to stage before the International Criminal Court based on lies and falsehoods
04:06that only exist in the imagination of those who have dedicated their foreign policy into
04:12a shoddy spectacle, following the anti-Venezuelan policy line of the late Sebastián Piñera
04:18in the Venezuelan Pinochet style of creating false flags operations.
04:24Attempting to take an isolated case feeded by lies to the ICC is not only legally unobtainable
04:32but also reveals a complete ignorance of how the international system and the RAMS issue
04:38works.
04:39The ICC is not a court that hears the fanciful fables in immature political intrigues nor
04:47a stage for media stunts.
04:49It is clear that Chilean authorities have no idea of how these mechanisms operate, or
04:55worse still, that they are simply willing to distort them in order to align themselves
05:01with the interests of allies to justice.
05:05This position not only lacks legal basis but is also sustained by the vicious hatred against
05:11Venezuela, demonstrating the desperation to police agendas that come from U.S. seeks to
05:17enrode the sovereignty of states.
05:20Chile, instead of lending itself to shameful manoeuvres, should focus on its own serious
05:27internal issues, including the systematic violations of the human rights of the Mapuche
05:32people and the repressions of the social protests.
05:38Venezuela is a country that can give lessons about respect for human rights and the dignity
05:43of the people.
05:44We will not accept attacks from those who have made it from institutional violence and
05:49everyday practice, and who are now trying to divert attention from their own mysteries
05:55with clumsy political manoeuvres.
06:06With a civic act at the Colorado Pied House and the participation of four presidents,
06:11Uruguay celebrates the 40th anniversary of the return of democracy to the country.
06:17The event was attended by the current president of Uruguay, Yamandu Orsi, and former president
06:21Julio María San Aguinetti, José Mujica, and Luis Alberto Lacalle Herrera, who debated
06:29for more than an hour, while former president Luis Lacalle Poe also sent a video with statements.
06:34In this context, Orsi celebrated the meeting and highlighted democratic dynamic that exists
06:41in a country between the opposition and the government.
06:44For his part, former president José Pepe Mujica called for unity among Uruguayans.

12:31The neutrality treaty is respected and the only country with the right to have a military

13:53For the first time since the ceasefire agreement of November 2024, the Israeli occupation forces
13:59launched attacks on the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
14:01The Saudi regime attacked a Lebanese city in retaliation for two online rockets fired
14:07from a Lebanese territory north of Tel Aviv.
14:10The Israeli authorities described the alleged attacks as a flagrant violation of the agreements
14:15between Israel and Lebanon and a direct threat to the Israeli people.
14:19At the same time, the Israeli army announced that its troops have begun to mobilise in
14:23southern Lebanon in order to neutralise the movements of the Lebanese resistance movement
14:28Hezbollah.
14:34The Lebanese government urged the international community to exert no more pressure on the
14:39Israeli regime to stop its aggressions towards southern border towns.
14:43The prime minister, Nawaf Salam, issued a statement to request the Lebanese army to
14:48open the necessary investigations to hold those responsible for the attack on the southern
14:53border.
14:54In addition, the authority noted that military forces will resume their operations to prevent
14:59the spread of violence in the region.
15:02Meanwhile, the Hezbollah Lebanese resistance movement reaffirmed its commitment to reach
15:07a ceasefire deal and it denied any involvement in the recent strikes on northern Israel.
15:14The Israeli occupation forces had mounted night-time attacks in the Gaza Strip, which
15:23killed at least 14 Palestinians.
15:25Outlets informed that Israeli warplanes had dropped bombs on Gaza, Rafa and Canaanite
15:31cities.
15:32They further reported Hassani strikes on the Seytoun town, which left eight civilians
15:39casualties, including a baby who had been rescued from the house's rubble.
15:44Meanwhile, Israeli shelling on eastern Ghani units injured two civilians, including a child.
15:50Official sources registered more than 855 deaths and almost 1,900 injuries as a result
15:58of both the broken ceasefire deal by Israel on March 18 and the resumption of the genocidal
16:03Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip.
16:10The United Nations warned that M23 rebels had threatened to expand their riots to the
16:16Sopo and Minma provinces in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
16:21On the United Nations Security Council meeting, the head of the UN Stabilization Mission in
16:26the DRC, Benkut Keita, stressed that the M23 rebels, after having occupied north and south
16:33Kivu with the support of Rwanda, were advancing towards Walikali.
16:37Therefore, the NDD ensured that M23 was threatening and endangering the rest of neighboring countries.
16:45In this regard, Keita denounced the progressive imposition of the parallel administration
16:51by the rebels.
16:52The UN representative acknowledged that the ceasefire deal had not been respected, so
16:57she urged the African Union to appoint a mediator to lead peace efforts in the Democratic Republic
17:04of the Congo.
17:08The Russian government denounced that the Ukrainian regime's violated truce agreement
17:13by continuing its attacks on Russian energy facilities.
17:17The Russian Defense Ministry said that Ukrainian forces on Friday morning launched an attack
17:23on the Soyuz-Gaza metering station, causing the energy facility to be effectively destroyed.
17:32The Gaza metering station is part of the infrastructure through which one of the largest supplies
17:36corridors of Russian natural gas to Europe used to pass.
17:40Earlier in the day, the Russian anti-aircraft defense in Saratov province endorsed 19 UAVs
17:48targeting the infrastructure of the oil refineries in the city.
17:57The world commemorates World Al-Quds Day declared in 1979 in solidarity with the Palestinian
18:05resistance and struggle against all forms of oppression.
18:09On 30th of August, faithful to the commitment of Jerusalem citizens in Iran, India and Yemen
18:16mobilized to affirm their commitment and historical loyalty to the Palestinian people.
18:21And to make possible this for the recognition of the sovereign state of Palestine, in addition
18:30to rejecting the present installation of violence in continuation of the Israeli genocide
18:35against the Gaza Strip in the occupied territories of the West Bank.
18:38The Islamic community of the world ratifies its political commitment to the Palestinian
18:43cause and resistance against the Israeli occupation on the last Friday of Ramadan.
18:53In this context, close to 75,000 worshippers gathered to pray on the last Friday of Ramadan
18:59at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
19:02The prayers took place in the midst of growing tensions due to the recent Israeli military
19:07offensive in the Gaza Strip and the military escalation in Lebanon.
19:10During Ramadan, the invading Israeli regime banned entry to Jerusalem to Palestinian men
19:16and women over the age of 50.
19:19In this regard, worshippers had that only 5% of the faithful were able to reach the Al-Aqsa
19:25Mosque for Friday prayers in East Jerusalem, a territory illegally occupied by Israel
19:30since the 1967 Middle East War.
19:46And now we change topics.
