00:00I'm Lizzie, I am at the brand new 1024 studio in Orchard Square, Sheffield City Centre.
00:05I've come without makeup on because I'm going to get my face 3D scanned for the Sapiens
00:09project.
00:10So let's head in and see what they're all about.
00:111024 are trying to make the digital world more inclusive, scanning faces which could
00:15be used to diversify characters in video games, in medical technology, robotics and loads
00:19more.
00:20So I have booked online, I've got my email confirmation right here.
00:24Once you've been signed in you'll get taken through to the waiting area where you can
00:27have a look at the model release form.
00:28There is no pressure to sign if you're unsure, you don't have to continue, but 1024 is committed
00:32to handling data ethically and securely in full compliance with GDPR.
00:36You can check out their full privacy notice online for details on how they protect your
00:40information.
00:42So now it's time to get ready.
00:44Like I said I have no makeup on but I have to take my piercings out, I have to pop on
00:47a glamorous wig cap and then I'm going to change into a cami top.
00:55So I'm already feeling very glamorous and we're about to head into the 3D scanning room.
01:03Now this is actually the quickest part.
01:05You sit on a chair surrounded by cameras and make 11 different facial expressions and from
01:09all these images of your face captured from different angles at the same time you get
01:12a high quality digital model of your face.
01:15As soon as you finish you'll get paid 40 quid then and there in the scan room, you'll get
01:18a receipt through to your email and that's it.
01:20I'm back in my normal clothes, it took around 10 minutes and I got paid 40 quid.
01:24So I'm good to go.
