Callum Paterson on dealing with Sheffield Wednesday disappointment and bouncing back
Transcript
00:00On a personal level, how do you deal with the whole experience of not playing?
00:04You know, when you're training hard, you're doing your bit every day
00:08and sometimes not even making a match day squad,
00:10how do you personally deal with that stuff?
00:14Not well.
00:16I kind of play some watches games.
00:19Usually when I'm available and ready to play, I'm kind of included
00:23and it's not been nice, it's not been a good feeling.
00:26But if anything, it's made me a bit stronger in a way.
00:31I know it's a bit cliche, but it's made me think about things a bit differently.
00:34I've got other things in my life now that put a smile on my face
00:38and it's about switching off from football sometimes and going home and enjoying yourself.
00:42Yeah, I can imagine.
00:43Over the last few years, we have seen it with yourself, with Marvin, with Liam,
00:48where you've sort of been brought back in from the cold.
00:52I suppose, is that testament to your attitudes,
00:55like the way that you conduct yourselves when you're not playing
00:58and when you're not in the team?
01:00Yeah, I think so.
01:01I spoke to the manager at the start of the season
01:03and obviously I wasn't in, well, not in the plans,
01:07but I wouldn't get as much game time as I would like.
01:10So I said to him, listen, I'm here, I've always been here.
01:14If you need me, I'll be ready.
01:16I kept myself ready and thankfully I took my chances when it came along.
