00:00Our top story coming in from Karnataka this morning. Karnataka High Court blow to the ruling Congress.
00:05High Court stays the cheap land allotted for the Congress office.
00:09Siddaramaya government had given a land, like you are told, allegedly on discounted rate for the Congress headquarter office in Karnataka.
00:18The municipality land was given for the Congress office.
00:21Allotted land houses with regard to a water storage tank that is there.
00:27The Hubli Corporation had moved the High Court against the land SOP.
00:31That how can you give a municipality land which houses a water storage tank to the Congress office.
00:36The High Court also appears to have taken a view on this.
00:39Sagai Raj joins me in the morning for the latest.
00:42Sagai, go ahead, tell me more about this controversy.
00:45It's interesting that in many ways it's the Hubli Corporation that took this ahead.
00:51The Hubli Corporation is operated by BJP party. BJP has a majority there.
00:58And they have opposed this particular move of Karnataka Congress for government cabinet position.
01:04Where the cabinet has decided to give the land at lower price.
01:08And the BJP which has found a few loopholes in that, especially the land.
01:13And which says that there is a water tank and this land cannot be allocated to the Congress party.
01:19And they have challenged in the court the cabinet position.
01:21And now it has worked in the favour where the Karnataka High Court in the Hubli bench
01:27has put a say on the land which is being allocated to Congress party.
01:32Okay. Sagai, keep tracking the latest on that.
01:35But also stay on with me because I want to get your views on what's coming in with regard to the gold smuggling case.
01:40Let's take a look at that report.
01:43In the gold smuggling Ranerao case the DRI officials have arrested one suspect.
01:53They are calling him a key accused. His name is Sahil Jain.
01:57And how has his name surfaced in this case? Here's what has happened.
02:01Jain is being accused of abetting the smuggling of 14 kilogram of gold which is over 11 crore rupees.
02:10That's the worth, that's been the value that's been set by the DRI officials.
02:14Probe also is suggesting that Jain assisted the starlet in smuggling that gold from Dubai into India.
02:21And he had eventually planned to sell the gold that was seized from Ranerao.
02:26He is also now in DRI custody till the 29th of March.
02:29Sagai Raj continues to be with us. Sagai, tell us more about this Sahil Jain.
02:33Who is he? Is he an actor too? Is he a businessman?
02:36How has his name possibly cropped up?
03:07And it was Jain who have disposed that particular gold as well.
03:11So keeping all these things in mind in the investigation as well as the technical evidence which has been gathered by DRI.
03:18They have arrested him and produced in front of magistrate court and taken into custody for 4 days to interrogate further.
03:25Keep tracking all the latest Sagai coming in from Bengaluru in this case.
03:30The Karnataka gold smuggling case is definitely turning murkier.
03:37The DRI in the court proclaims that Ranerao has confessed to a certain Hawala link.
03:42But that means it will also open doors for investigation.
03:45Who else is involved? What kind of a chain nexus this was?
03:48And what about the international layers here? Let's take a look at this report.
03:52The Ranerao gold smuggling scandal continues to unravel.
04:03An investigation report accessed exclusively by India Today has revealed that airport security protocols were broken for the starlet.
04:17And it was her father DGP Ramachandra Rao at whose behest VVIP privileges and a safe passage were accorded to Ranerao at the airport.
04:32In another stunning twist the anti-smuggling agency has told the court that Ranerao has confessed.
04:43Confessed to transferring funds via Hawala for purchasing gold.
04:49DRI claims that Ranya's confession came days after it alleged that it had evidence of the actor and her friend Tarun Raju making 26 trips to Dubai.
05:03Ranya allegedly handed Hawala transactions to actor Tarun Raju.
05:10Tarun then transferred the money to Dubai.
05:13This money was sent to Ranya through Hawala channels.
05:17Ranya then smuggled gold into India via Bengaluru airport.
05:23The money was transferred to Ranya's accounts and allegedly that Hawala money was sent to unidentified accounts.
05:35Ranerao was arrested on March 3rd at the Bengaluru airport after a thorough personal search.
05:42She was found with gold bars wrapped around her waist and calves which was concealed with bandages and tissues.
05:51Additionally more gold bars and cut pieces were found in her shoes and front pockets.
06:04With Sagaraj, Bureau Report, India Today.
06:34But we are told he will also likely make a statement in the upper house of the parliament.
06:38We will try and get more clarity on the timing when PM Modi is set to speak.
06:43But that's a big news coming in.
06:44Remember PM Modi usually if he has been making a reply or giving a statement in the parliament these days
06:50also in many ways has been charging whether the opposition or their negative vision
06:55and highlighting achievements of the Modi government.
06:57So what will then be the reply if he gives today itself in the Rajya Sabha
07:02as we are told that likely today itself while he will be present in the Rajya Sabha
07:07he will likely speak as well in the upper house of the parliament.
07:15I want to take you to the Lok Sabha meanwhile.
07:17An interesting bizarre showdown that erupted between the speaker and the leader of opposition in the latest.
07:24On one side Rahul Gandhi said he is not being allowed to speak in the parliament every time he wants to.
07:30The BJP then launched a scathing attack claiming that that's not possible.
07:34The BJP is alleging that Rahul Gandhi is not present in the parliament
07:38when the bills are being discussed and he does not speak on any bill.
07:42Nobody can stop a member of parliament from speaking in the house.
07:45Then the BJP released a video of the LOP greeting his sister
07:49who is also a fellow congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vajra within the sansad.
07:52That led to a claim that Rahul Gandhi is violating parliamentary decorum.
07:56Even the speaker then has spoken on it Om Birla saying that
08:01at this point there has to be a certain decorum maintained.
08:05Rahul Gandhi is accusing the centre for giving no place to opposition to function in a democratic way.
08:27What we want to say, we are not allowed to say.
08:31People are either made to do something urgent or they are not given the opportunity to speak.
08:37And after that some unnecessary comments are made to confuse things.
08:44If you don't let the leader of opposition say what he wants to say,
08:49then how can democracy be protected?
08:52It has become their habit to defame the seats of the parliament.
08:58If Rahul Gandhi has parliamentary knowledge and is misleading the country,
09:02then nobody can stop anyone from speaking in this house.
09:06Rahul Gandhi himself does not sit in the house.
09:09If a member of his party speaks on any bill, then he can speak.
09:13But he does not speak on any bill, on any constitution, on any proposal.
09:19He himself does not come, he himself does not have any interest in the constitution.
09:24And after this, where is he going?
09:26This is not a government, this is a parliament.
09:29The speaker runs it. The speaker is a custodian of the house.
09:32After all, the opposition speaks every day.
09:34If the members of Congress can speak, then why can't they speak?
09:37Always, no member can stand up and speak at any time.
09:41At any time, he cannot make a point of order.
09:45To speak on everything, if a leader wants to speak, then he has all the topics.
09:51If there is a bill, then he can speak on it.
09:55He can speak for zero hours, he can speak in a special mansion.
09:58There is a rare opportunity.
10:02This accusation, I think, is falsehood and lack of knowledge.
10:15from a sitting judge's residence.
10:17A three-member High Court judge panel appointed by the Supreme Court
10:20will now be investigating the mountain of cash, half burnt,
10:23found in a sitting justice, Justice Burma's house, after a fire on 14th March.
10:28Sources say that the cops will also be questioned, possibly,
10:32about sealing the cash recovery site. That did not happen in time.
10:36We have a big scoop on what's happening inside.
10:38An in-house probe has been ordered.
10:41Sources say Justice Burma will also be questioned by this panel.
10:44But also his personal secretary could be questioned.
10:47Because he allegedly asked the cops to return the next day, post the fire.
10:53Why did the cops have to go back if they were clearly there
10:56to investigate with regard to the blaze in the house?
10:59Sources also say that the cash haul scene was compromised,
11:02that there were a team of Delhi cops that did not preserve the recovery site.
11:06So they could also be questioned then on that.
11:08But also sources have told us that for now, government sources will not get involved.
11:12The government will not get involved because possibly there is no say in this.
11:16They'll wait for the Supreme Court inquiry to conclude, which will be time-bound.
11:20And then that will be the next decision, possibly, the government could take on this.
11:24So this is a big controversy right now.
11:26Because remember that judiciary, members of judiciary, judges specifically,
11:30are seen above scrutiny. They are seen to be independent.
11:33But if there's a pile of cash, and should I say a mountain of cash,
11:37that was half burnt, found, was it accounted,
11:40then there will have to be the reeling of the source about it.
11:43And if it was unaccounted, then that raises a lot of questions.
11:47And that is something Justice Verma will have to mention more about.
11:51But then again, the contradictory statements that have come in
11:54from the cops, from the fire department, from the personal secretary and more.
11:58India Today's legal correspondent Srishti Ojha joins me for the latest on that.
12:02Srishti, tell me more about this, about the investigation that will be done
12:06by a three-judge panel, unprecedented in so many ways,
12:09and yet so significant.
12:14Srishti, can you hear me?
12:18Alright, so we'll go across to Srishti in just a short while.
12:21But look at that. That's the half burnt piles of cash,
12:24that even though contradictory statements came earlier,
12:27that nothing happened. There was no cash haul.
12:29And then the videos emerged.
12:31A fierce encounter presently going on in the Jammu region, in Kottuwa.
12:41Remember, in the past few days, we had witnessed the situation
12:48turning troublesome, active terrorists present in the area.
12:52Encounter is between the terrorists and the forces right now.
12:56Kottuwa, in the Jammu region, where there have been instances
13:00of civilians also reporting suspicious movements.
13:03The encounter is underway. All of these are deferred images,
13:07not live images from the ground.
13:09Intense gunfight between forces and terrorists coming in.
13:13Sunil G. Bhatt, joining me for the latest on that.
13:17Sunil, tell me more about this. Is this a far-flung area in Kottuwa?
13:22What are you hearing about the information coming in?
13:26Pooja, a massive counter-terror operation is on in the Kottuwa district
13:32since Sunday evening because on Sunday evening,
13:35terrorists were spotted in the forest area near Sanyal village.
13:40It was the locals who had informed the security forces
13:43that they had noticed a movement of terrorists there.
13:46There was a lady and her husband who had seen five terrorists
13:50and the terrorists had even tried to hand them as hostages
13:54and somehow they managed to save their lives
13:56and then they informed the security forces
13:58and after that a massive counter-terror operation was launched.
14:02But finally now the security forces have got success.
14:05They have been able to establish fresh contact with the terrorists.
14:08A gunfight is underway. A fresh encounter has broken out.
14:11On Sunday evening, remember, Pooja, the security forces
14:15had also managed to establish contact with the terrorists.
14:18There was an encounter for 20 to 25 minutes,
14:21but after that there was no sound of any gunfight or gunshots.
14:25And after that a major counter-terror operation was launched
14:29across the length and breadth of this forest area.
14:32Now we are learning from our sources that an encounter has broken out
14:37near Juthana in the Kottuwa district of J&K.
14:40This is the same group of terrorists who was earlier spotted
14:43near Sanyal village by the locals.
14:45Quickly tell me also, Sunil, about the region in Kottuwa,
14:48how the terrorists are shifting focus to an otherwise relatively peaceful J&K region?
15:18Sunil, thank you and keep tracking all the latest on that.
15:26We have a big news coming in from Kolkata.
15:28I want to go across directly to that immediately.
15:31Five CISF personnel have been arrested in Kolkata.
15:34CISF personnel have been arrested in a fraud case.
15:38That's the big news coming in.
15:39We are immediately shifting focus to Bengal.
15:41CISF officer, CISF personnel posed as income tax officer.
15:47There's a fraud case emerging from the CISF.
15:50CISF, remember, has been usually is deployed, for example, at the airports, railway stations
15:58and security checks are primarily where it's their significant duty.
16:02Usually that's the deployment.
16:04But in a fraud case, CISF personnel have been arrested.
16:08In a fraud case, they were posing as income tax officers.
16:12This speaks terribly, remember, on the force as well.
16:15While action has been taken, but how did they even indulge in this?
16:19Rajesh Saha is joining me for the latest on that.
16:22Rajesh, go ahead, tell me more details about this.
16:26Well, Bhujina, a total of eight people, including five CISF personnel,
16:31have been arrested by Bagunati police station under Biran Nagar commission in Kolkata
16:36for allegedly looting and extorting a house of a construction businessman in Kolkata.
16:43And that incident came into the light after Bagunati police station received a complaint from a lady
16:48that their house has been raided by some income tax officials in the midnight.
16:55And when the police launched the investigation, it was found that some fake officials,
17:01they have impersonated themselves as income tax officers and raided their house
17:06and looted money, more than 3 lakhs rupees and a huge quantity of gold
17:11have been looted in the name of seizing materials from their house.
17:16And when the police investigated the matter, it was found that five CISF personnel,
17:23including one inspector, one head constable and one lady constable,
17:27who was also posted at RGK hospital to protect the hospital.
17:31She was posted at RGK hospital for at least four months.
17:34She was also involved and one by one, five CISF personnel have been arrested.
17:39And after interrogating them, three more persons have been arrested by Bagunati police station
17:43for allegedly looting the house of a businessman in Bagunati, Kolkata.
17:48All right, Rajesh, keep tracking all the latest on that.
17:50But this is, remember, not looking good as well.
17:53Thankfully, they've been arrested.
17:55Investigation will follow in this case.
17:57Five CISF personnel arrested for posing as income tax officers
18:02and in a fraud case now that will be probed.
18:05Let's move on now.
18:06I want to take you to Mumbai because that's where the big story about a comedian Kunal Kamra,
18:11who made a political joke and now has led to a political showdown.
18:15More than the focus on Kamra itself, the focus has been on what UBT and Mahayati are saying.
18:21Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is also up there against Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray.
18:26He's saying that what Kunal Kamra said is basically,
18:33few shikhandis are plotting and using pakhandis to defame him.
18:38He did not name Uddhav Thackeray, but it clearly looked like a jibe to the UBT Sena.
18:43He's also said that everyone knows who the real traitor has been
18:47and the smear campaign against Shinde will not work.
18:50But BJP MLC Praveen Dharekar on Wednesday moved a breach of privilege motion notice
18:54against a stand-up comedian too, over his parody that appeared to target Eknath Shinde.
19:24Kunal Kamra is speaking more than Avkaz.
19:27Because he has made a political joke and now has led to a political showdown.
19:32More than the focus on Kamra itself, the focus has been on what UBT and Mahayati are saying.
19:37He did not name Uddhav Thackeray, but it clearly looked like a jibe to the UBT Sena.
19:42He did not name Uddhav Thackeray, but it clearly looked like a jibe to the UBT Sena.
19:47He did not name Uddhav Thackeray, but it clearly looked like a jibe to the UBT Sena.
19:52Supreme Court, our leader Shinde, Mukesh Ambani, Anand Mahindra, Nirmala Sitharaman
19:57Supreme Court, our leader Shinde, Mukesh Ambani, Anand Mahindra, Nirmala Sitharaman
20:02Supreme Court, our leader Shinde, Mukesh Ambani, Anand Mahindra, Nirmala Sitharaman
20:07did not name him. This is not good for any state or country.
20:10And if he feels that he is a great scholar, he has learned a lot, it is not like that.
20:15Because every person living in the country has individual freedom.
20:20But how far can individual freedom be used?
20:26The criticism is the soul of the democracy.
20:31PMC also took action that this is an illegal building.
20:35My question is, did you come to know that this hotel is illegal?
20:41The law and order of Maharashtra is already in a bad state.
20:45And if people take law and order in their hands, then this is very bad.
20:50I really condemn this.
20:51They vandalized everything and ransacked everything.
20:54Nobody will appreciate that.
21:15There is a big showdown that is erupting now.
21:17And how will the Civil Aviation Ministry possibly take a view on this?
21:21The TTT board has cited Agamashastra guidelines.
21:25And saying, need to stop the aircrafts flying above the Tirumala temple.
21:30One of the visuals, just to give you a background of what the situation has been.
21:34As you can see, the very popular, significant Tirumala temple.
21:40You can see that right above it, the airlines that do fly.
21:45It would be of course a matter of air route here.
21:47But the TTT has written saying that cannot fly the aircrafts right above the Tirumala temple.
21:55Also citing certain Agamashastra guidelines.
21:58Saying that that cannot be allowed.
22:02So that is what has happened.
22:04And we will be tracking how basically, how will the government and as much as Civil Aviation Ministry will be looking at this.
22:15The Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam is the TTT board that in many ways manages.
22:19For example, even the Tirumala Venkateshwar temple.
22:22Go ahead Apoorva, Jayachandran joining me.
22:25Apoorva, tell me more about this.
22:26Because what I am wondering is, this hasn't happened before.
22:30I am sure the aircrafts were flying earlier as well.
22:32So what has the TTT said now?
22:35And how is it going to be looked at?
22:37Well Pooja, definitely.
22:39Because this is not the first time that a flight has been flown over the Tirumala's sanctum sectorium.
22:46And in fact, earlier on as well, the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam had written to the Civil Aviation Ministry.
22:53They had written a letter to Ram Mohan Naidu, the Civil Aviation Minister.
22:57Requesting permission to allow that, permission to give so that the flight will not be flying over the sanctum sectorium of the TTT as well.
23:07Remember, the Tirumala is one of the sacred places here.
23:12And according to Agama Shastra, it is being stated that there shouldn't be any kind of flight or any kind of vehicular movement atop the hill in which the temple is situated.
23:24And that is what has been a practice that has been going on since ages here at Tirumala.
23:29And that is what the TTT has also emphasised on and written to the Civil Aviation Ministry in their letter as well.
23:37In fact, earlier on, the TTT Chairman B.R. Naidu was in fact hopeful that there will be some kind of an accord that will be reached between the Civil Aviation Ministry and the Tirumala in their letter that had been written to the Civil Aviation Ministry.
23:52But yet again, we are seeing now how there has been yet another flight that has been flown atop Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam.
23:59And this has definitely raised several eyebrows because this is a timely occurrence.
24:05It is a hindrance rather that is being taken place time and again.
24:10And the TTT board is definitely not looking at this on a lighter note.
24:13Alright, keep tracking all the latest on that.
24:16And clearly, this is something that the Civil Aviation Ministry will have to think about now.
24:23Alright, going to Karnataka now.
24:25The BJP has expelled one of its senior MLAs, Basant Gowda Patil Yatnal from the party.
24:30And remember, he is no ordinary MLA. He is a senior leader.
24:32He is a sitting MLA from Vijayapura, now expelled over indiscipline.
24:36He has been expelled for six years with immediate effect because of some statements that he had given against the party as it appeared and former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddy Rapa specifically.
24:47A letter by the Central Disciplinary Committee, the party has taken serious note of the repeated violations, as it says, of the discipline despite previous assurances of good behaviour.
24:57Just to give you a background, what happened.
24:59Yatnal trained his guns at Yeddy Rapa, former CM, urging the former Chief Minister to abandon infatuation with his son B.Y. Vijendra, who is heading the party unit, and focus on the party instead.
25:12He is accusing Vijendra of maintaining close ties even with D.K. Shivkumar.
25:16But BJP President, Karnataka President B.Y. Vijendra stated, he is not going to rejoice this moment. It's unfortunate.
25:23There are senior party leaders who have an authority to correct and guide him.
25:27But clearly, it's the leadership from Delhi, the disciplinary committee, that's taken a decision on this.
25:33Yeddy Rapa is doing everything he can.
25:36He is not going to leave his son alone.
25:39He is not going to leave his son alone.
25:41He is not going to leave his son alone.
25:43He is not going to leave his son alone.
25:45The statement given against the party by the local MLA, there was no action taken against him.
25:53So, what was going on in the minds of many workers?
25:58Which party are we in?
26:00Or is this man harassing the party again and again?
26:03And he has taken a good decision against the party, like an agent of the Congress.
26:13We welcome all the members of the disciplinary committee.
26:16The party has taken this decision after careful consideration.
26:20It's good for the party to take this right step to control the disciplinary committee.
26:27Democracy and democracy are always divided.
26:30But something has gone too far.
26:33So, I think the party has taken the right decision at the right time.
26:43Alright, so big news coming in.
26:44Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said, stop this hate against Hindi.
26:49It was in many ways of course a jibe at the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
26:52And then Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has hit back and said, don't lecture us on hate.
26:58Stalin has now given out a response and here is what he has said.
27:01Yogi Adityanath has a political dark comedy humour.
27:06He has also added that BJP is rattled by a push for the Tamil language.
27:11While Yogi Adityanath had said that Stalin fears a defeat.
27:15Referring to the upcoming state assembly elections.
27:18And that's why Yogi Adityanath alleging that he is doing this Hindi stunt coming in with regard to Tamil Nadu.
27:25Let's listen in to what UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said.
27:28And then we will go across to our colleague on the ground.
27:32The country should not be divided in the name of language or region.
27:37And we are grateful to PM Modi ji who in Varanasi,
27:43has also organized the third Kashi Tamil Sangamam here.
27:51On one hand there is Kashi and Uttar Pradesh.
27:57In which the Kashi Tamil Sangamam is being organized.
28:02Tamil is one of the oldest languages of India.
28:06It is a medium that connects India from north to south, from east to west.
28:17And I feel that the Indian national anthem also conveys the same message.
28:21This is only a limited politics.
28:26When these people can draw their vote banks,
28:30then these people do not want to divide on the basis of language and region.
28:36The people should always be aware of such actions for the unity of the country.
28:43So that's what Yogi Adityanath says that this is vote bank politics.
28:48What does Tamil Nadu Chief Minister say about this?
28:50My colleague Pramod Madhav is joining me for the latest on this.
28:53Pramod, tell me more about the quote from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
28:58It's two Chief Ministers now at war with each other over Hindi, over Tamil.
29:03Why does the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister say this is hate?
29:07Well, it's very simple.
29:09What is happening is that after CM Yogi Adityanath claimed that whatever the CM of Tamil Nadu is doing
29:14is only for political reasons and for the vote purpose.
29:18It looks like the CM of Tamil Nadu M.K. Stalin has been completely irked by it.
29:21And that's why he's calling the actual statements made by Yogi Adityanath as black political comedy.
29:27And the CM has very much harshly reacted to this.
29:31And he said that this is not vote bank politics but actually a rattle for the state's right puja.
29:37Pramod, also tell me, do you see this getting escalated now?
29:41Because it's, I think, for the first time possibly that the two Chief Ministers
29:44are responding to each other directly over the Hindi-Tamil issue.
29:50Very certain the CM of Tamil Nadu and DMK is not going to let go that easy of delimitation to language policy.
29:58And that's what you also see over here.
30:00Because anytime any BJP leader actually reacts to it, be it Nirmala Sitharaman, be it Anna Malai,
30:06or be it now CM Yogi Adityanath, there is definitely a strong reaction from the DMK's end puja.
30:12Alright, Pramod Madhav will be tracking all the latest on that.
30:15Tamil Nadu CM says, why this hate against Hindi?
30:18Yogi Adityanath says, why this hate against Hindi to which Tamil Nadu CM says
30:22that it's our Tamil push that has really got the leaders from the BJP worried.
30:31I want to now take you to Uttar Pradesh because there's been a sensitive atmosphere, remember,
30:35communal tensions in Sambhal.
30:37Officers have called a Peace Committee meeting regarding next week.
30:41Because next week is going to be very important.
30:43In many ways, it's a collective celebration, but also communal tensions.
30:47The festival of Eid coinciding with Navratri and the Ram Navami.
30:52ASP Shri Chandra has said that Alwada Jumma and Eid Namaz will possibly not be offered
30:58on the streets or the roof of the houses.
31:01That there will have to be specific sites and these are the mosques where the Namaz can be offered.
31:06Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also spoken about the Sambhal situation in a recent podcast,
31:11saying that there will be all these temples that have been either shut or hidden in some way.
31:16They will be revived as many as possible in Sambhal.
31:19I want you to take a look at this report of how Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh
31:23has become the big highlight, clearly, for the BJP right now.
31:28Those who have eyes, come and see what happened in Sambhal.
31:33Sambhal is a truth.
31:58Islam says that no Hindu temple or any Hindu house has been demolished
32:02and built by you.
32:06God does not accept this.
32:08Why did you build it?
32:10You are speaking against Islam.
32:12Yogi Adityanath also had a strong message for writers.
32:18Those who take justice and law into their own hands,
32:21then many times,
32:23they are taught a lesson by staying within the limits of the law.
32:27Those who understand, should be taught in the same language.
32:31The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister defended the covering up of Sambhal Mosque during Holi.
32:39When the processions take place in Muharram,
32:41doesn't the shadow of their flag fall on a Hindu house near the temple?
32:46Does that make the Hindu house sacred?
32:49This is a strong message.
32:51Those who are afraid of colour, should not go there.
32:54But still, it has happened.
32:55And the administration is cleaning it up again and again.
32:59What is this?
33:00Don't they wear colourful clothes?
33:02If they are more colourful than Hindus, then don't Muslims wear clothes?
33:05Then why are they afraid of colour?
33:20Sambhal residents have been barred from offering Namaz,
33:24either on roads or on their rooftops.
33:49Anuj Chaudhary, the Circle Officer,
33:52who was caught in a controversy
33:54after calling upon Muslims to stay indoors during Holi,
33:58if they were not comfortable with colours,
34:00has issued another statement after a peace meeting.
34:19If you are ready to eat food, go and eat something else.
34:22So that brotherhood ends here.
34:25Sambhal clearly remains on the edge.
34:30Bureau report, India Today.
34:35Staying with Uttar Pradesh, from Sambhal to Bahrej,
34:38there is now a storm over a fair, a mela,
34:41that is usually organised,
34:43and this is celebrating the legacy of Syed Salar Masood Ghazi.
34:46For those who may not know him,
34:48he was the nephew of invader Mahmood Ghaznavi.
34:51Now that, as a mela, as a celebration of fair on him,
34:54is a controversy that is raging on,
34:56especially about his Mazar in Bahrej.
34:58Hindu groups have come forth to claim
35:00that there has been a Suryakund there,
35:02instead, that had existed, and that needs to be revived.
35:05My colleague Samar Srivastava went on the ground
35:08to find out what are these tensions about.
35:11Let's take a look at this report.
35:16Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh
35:24After the ban on the Neja Mela in Sambhal,
35:27the spotlight has now shifted to Bahrej in UP,
35:33where the annual Jeth Mela at the Dargah of Salar Ghazi
35:37is under scrutiny.
35:41Nephew of Mahmood Ghaznavi, Syed Salar Masood,
35:46Ghazi.
35:47The controversy around this name,
35:49and the Magbara,
35:52is high in the state of Uttar Pradesh,
35:55and obviously in the country.
35:58Where actually the place where he died,
36:01and what actually the controversy is,
36:03to find out,
36:04India Today TV has reached Bahrej,
36:07to understand the ground reality
36:10behind this particular position, situation,
36:13and also at a time
36:16when there are clouds looming over the suspension
36:20of this Mela in Bahrej,
36:23just like Sambhal.
36:28Hindu outfits have demanded an excavation at the site,
36:31claiming the existence of an ancient Suryakund and temple.
36:37Here, the entire Hindu community,
36:40and our Sanatani organization,
36:44is adamant that this Mela should be closed.
36:51The 17 times that Muhammad Ghori looted,
36:54he was with us,
36:55he was with us since childhood.
36:57I am saying this with conviction,
36:58dig up the history,
36:59and learn from it,
37:00how our uncle was looting,
37:02after the 17th and 18th attacks,
37:04and how he himself came to India,
37:06and has come to loot the entire India.
37:10Hindu organizations have also submitted a memorandum,
37:13demanding the excavation of Salar's Mazar.
37:18Sayyed Salar Masood,
37:19whose death was during the war,
37:21by Maharaja Sohail Dev,
37:24after Masood's death,
37:26200 years later,
37:28by Feroz Shah Tughlaq,
37:29by demolishing the Surya Temple,
37:31and by demolishing Suryakund,
37:33the Dargah was built,
37:34and that is why,
37:35in an unconstitutional manner,
37:37the Mela should be closed.
37:39They have said that the Mela should be closed,
37:42and at the same time,
37:43the Hindu organizations have claimed,
37:45that where Salar's Mazar is built,
37:47it is not a Mazar,
37:48but by Feroz Shah Tughlaq,
37:50demolishing the Surya Temple,
37:51a Mazar has been established there.
37:53And the miracles that happen there,
37:55in the name of Ghazi Baba,
37:56those miracles are of Suryakund.
37:59This is actually Suryakund,
38:01and all the kings of Ayodhya,
38:03who used to sit in the Suryavansha,
38:07they used to come here,
38:09to worship their deity.
38:11Suryavansha was a huge temple here.
38:13Maharaj Sohail Dev ji,
38:16where Ghazi Baba,
38:18by doing atrocities,
38:20and by demolishing the Suryakund,
38:22and demolishing the Suryakund,
38:24has forcibly captured it,
38:26so our aim is,
38:27that our old temple,
38:30or our Kund,
38:32or whatever is left of our Sanatan Dharma,
38:35we should get it.
38:39This is the place,
38:40where the annual fair is held.
38:42A notice outside the committee office,
38:44has now been put up,
38:46that states,
38:47due to unforeseen reasons,
38:49the event has been halted.
38:52The exact place,
38:54where Salar Ghazi died is,
38:56though it has been converted,
38:58into a proper Mazar,
38:59and there is yearly Mela,
39:02which happens in the month of May,
39:04though both communities,
39:06be it Hindus or Muslims,
39:07both come here in this particular Mela,
39:09but these pictures,
39:11from inside,
39:12clearly tell you the story,
39:13about the scenario.
39:15The Mela,
39:16the Neja Mela in Sambal,
39:17has been cancelled,
39:18by the administration.
39:19No official word has come,
39:21for the Behraish Mela,
39:22which is called the Jeth Mela,
39:23which is,
39:24which happens in the memory of,
39:26Sayyed Salar Ghazi.
39:27With the help of the administration,
39:29and with the help of everyone,
39:30we want the Mela to be held here.
39:32A lot of people come here,
39:34a lot of people come here,
39:36there is no problem,
39:37no one has any problem.
39:39We say that,
39:40as the Mela has been going on for centuries,
39:42the Mela should be held.
39:43And what that party is saying,
39:45is wrong.
39:49Salar Masood Ghazi,
39:51was the nephew of Mahmood Ghaznavi,
39:53born during his uncle's campaign,
39:55against Karnataka,
39:57in 1015 AD.
39:59And allegedly played a role,
40:01in looting Somnath Temple,
40:03in Gujarat,
40:04in the 11th century.
40:07The feeling of respect towards,
40:09the great men of India,
40:11should be the responsibility,
40:13of every citizen.
40:15And in such situations,
40:17no aggression,
40:19should be tolerated.
40:22The greatness of aggression,
40:25means,
40:27the denial of the rules,
40:29of treason,
40:31and independent India,
40:33cannot accept,
40:35such a traitor.
40:41The controversy is not just,
40:43about a Dargah,
40:45or a fair.
40:47It's a debate over history,
40:49and identity.
40:51With Samarth Srivastav,
40:53in Bhairaich, UP,

47:51Everything is taken care of and kind of created and I think this is an amazing image.
47:57And if you look at it, even the tie looks perfect, the suit looks perfect, there is
48:02no distortion, there is no mistake, even the tie design is absolutely amazing.
48:07And this is your image, wow, this is it.
48:10And I think this is absolutely amazing.
48:13So what is, what it means for designers, illustrator, branding, graphics, advertising agency, it's
48:19a whole lot of interesting avenue opens for everyone.
48:24It's a democratization of tools and AI has given power to each and every one of us as
48:30a tool to create unbelievable images, visuals, animation.
48:35This means all the animation studios, all the designers, illustrator, graphic artists,
48:41we are looking at branding, advertising, everybody can now generate image and these images are
48:46pretty high quality.
48:48They are as good as a high quality image.
48:51So our group creative editor, publishing Nilanjan Das joins me now for the latest to elaborate
48:57on the same.
48:58Nilanjan, welcome.
48:59I want to understand here, how does this really work?
49:03Because my social media feed is just flooded with these images.
49:06What does one do to get this animation?
49:08How does this work?
49:09Why is it so popular?
49:12So OpenAI just opened a flood gate and it is unbelievable what they have achieved.
49:20Yesterday there was a drop which is, which can create text to image and it is a certain
49:26style of image which is becoming very popular and it is trending everywhere.
49:30It's called Ghibli.
49:31Ghibli is a Japanese form of cartoon which is very popular in Japan and now globally.
49:36So now you can upload your picture and create a cartoon within seconds which may take a
49:42day or two if you assign it to somebody and it will bear a cost but here we are looking
49:47at something out of science fiction movie where the detailing, everything, they have
49:52rewritten AI text to image because earlier text was a huge issue in creating in AI but
49:59with OpenAI new software, new drop, it can create text with images, graphics, pictures,
50:06anything can be done and I think this is starting of a new era.
50:10We are looking at OpenAI has now been far ahead of its competitor now and this is becoming
50:16very interesting.
50:17Very interesting and as Nilanjan and I were having a conversation earlier, he says it's
50:22not a tool, it doesn't intend to replace, it's become a collaborator with the artist
50:27to add further but look at that, animation within few seconds and remember Japanese art
50:33and animation has been popular for decades now.
50:36This is a new addition to what it's achieving.
50:39Alright move on, now we get you more details coming in from the United States of America.
50:44The US President even before the 2nd of April reciprocal tariff imposition has now slapped
50:5025% tariff on all auto imports into India.
50:55This will also come into effect from the 2nd of April but this is remember adding on to
51:00what will be for other countries specially for example China.
51:05China may be looking at some tariff relief from America but Canada has vowed for a tit
51:10for tat response.
51:11US President says all cars, automobile parts made in the USA will have zero taxes.
51:17So if they are made and manufactured, assembled in the USA that's fine but if it is being
51:21imported there would be a 25% tariff.
51:24Trump is claiming the auto tariff will help rope in $600 billion to possibly $1 billion
51:30for the US economy.
51:31Canada calls Trump's auto tariff as an attack on American neighbor.
51:37They are now vowing a retaliatory tariff so it's led to of course tensions among the trade
51:41partners as well.
51:42Trump says he will consider reducing tariff on China in return for China's approval with
51:46regard to the USA.
51:48I think ultimately we could probably anywhere from $600 billion to $1 trillion will be taken
51:58in over the relatively short term period meaning a year from now.
52:03We're going to have very strong policing and it's pretty easy to do.
52:09If parts are made in America and a car isn't those parts are not going to be taxed or tariffed
52:16and we'll have very strong policing as far as that's concerned.
52:19For the most part I think it's going to lead cars to be made in one location.
52:22Right now a car would be made here, sent to Canada, sent to Mexico, sent all over the
52:27place.
52:28It's ridiculous.
52:29And this is a direct attack to be clear, a direct attack on the very workers that I stood
52:36in front of, Unifor workers, I stood in front of at the Ambassador Bridge, a bridge that
52:41is a symbol and a reality up until now of the tight ties between our two countries,
52:48ties of kinship, ties of commerce, ties that are in the process of being broken.
52:56We will defend our workers, we will defend our companies, we will defend our country
53:02and we will defend it together.
