Deputy Commissioner for the London Fire Brigade Jonathan Smith says they are working very closely with their partners to “minimise disruption”. Smith confirms approximately 10 percent of the fire, which broke out at an electrical substation in west London, is still alight.

00:04Our firefighters worked tirelessly in challenging and very hazardous conditions
00:10to bring the fire under control as swiftly as possible.
00:13As of the most recent update that I have received, approximately 10% remains alight
00:20and we are working with SSE to safely resolve this incident.
00:23Currently 5,000 homes remain without power.
00:27There remains no power at Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 or Terminal 4.
00:32The incident caused London Heathrow to close the airport and planes to be rerouted.
00:37We continue to work very closely with our partners to minimise disruption.
