00:00Third NCAA tournament win in program history for the Mount, Mount St. Mary's, the champions of the
00:06MAAC, last night victorious against the champions of the Patriot League in American University,
00:1283-72. But Donnie, first year for another Donnie, Donnie Lynn, the head coach of the Mountaineers,
00:19his first year as a collegiate basketball head coach this year at the Mount, leading the
00:25Mountaineers to a victory in the big dance, to 23 wins this season, the most in program history
00:31as a D1 school since 1988-89. But you saw that final score, 155 combined points between the Mount
00:43and the Eagles for what we had with a pregame total of 128 and a hook. The offense on full
00:49display, Mount St. Mary's wins outright, by the way, as a two and a half point dog as well.
00:55Yeah, pour a little bit out to the Sharps out there, and you can't fault them. It's a pretty
00:58good strategy over the past couple years, where it's like take the first half unders,
01:02and you see this game 48-38, where they're shooting the light out, everybody's ultra-efficient.
01:07But I do get back to the point with American, because I actually thought American could win
01:10this game. Ended up losing by 11 points, but even Matt Rogers goes down, eight minutes played,
01:15three or four from the floor, a couple boards there, no personal fouls. He goes down, it's
01:19almost like, I don't want to say like the life went out of American, because they didn't give
01:22up at that point. But down 10 at the break, got one of your best players, you knew it was going
01:26to be a tough hill to climb in the second half. But also, you have to give a lot of credit to
01:30Mount St. Mary's. 83 points, unbelievable efficiency, 41 percent from the three-point
01:36line, 83 percent from the free-throw line, and 58 percent from the floor in a neutral court,
01:42in a spotlight game against light competition. They were phenomenal in that game. I thought
01:46American was the better team. They weren't. It was Mount St. Mary's, injury or no injury.
