01:02For industries that we mistakenly club as South, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada have made inroads in the Hindi belt.
01:09Malayalam has, I wouldn't say it has lacked, I would say it has not tried to maybe get out of its bastion.

01:21Which you are trying to rectify here with Empuran.
01:23No, I am not trying to rectify anything here with Empuran. I am just aspiring for a lot of things.
01:28When I use words like rectification, it would mean that Malayalam cinema has lost its way.
01:33We are doing wonderfully well.
01:34We are going through a golden phase in our industry where we are making beautiful films
01:40and wonderful filmmakers and actors coming out with splendid performances.
01:44So there is nothing to be complaining about as far as Malayalam cinema is concerned.
01:47I think maybe ever since this whole phenomenon of cinema travelling across the country
01:53and you know, terminologies like pan-Indian and all being coined,
01:58theatrical distribution networks have always looked at films that can bring in the first day crowd
02:05that will come in with a bag of popcorn and look at it as a piece of entertainment.
02:10And Malayalam cinema is not essentially known for big ticket main scale popcorn entertainers,
02:16if I can call them that.
02:17We are known for making a different kind of cinema which is yet to find its own space
02:23within the distribution theatrical network that we have in this country.
02:26I am sure we will get there.
02:27But having said that, this particular film, that way is maybe our attempt,
02:35as Sir rightfully said, at gate crashing into that phenomenon.
02:40This is very much your large scale, big canvas, big ticket commercial action entertainer.
02:48At least that is what I have tried to make.
02:50Whether I have succeeded or not, I do not know.
02:52But that is what I have tried to make.
02:53So maybe, maybe we are hoping that this will break a few barriers.
