00:00Buck at center and Hamanek off the wall. Laine from his own
00:09line has the puck for Montreal. Patrick Laine weaves in,
00:12wrist shot and a stick right out of the hand of Hallmark. The
00:15velocity from Laine. Right out of his hand and still without
00:20it. That stick is miles away in the faceoff, got to his right.
00:24Can Montreal take advantage? Upper Newhawk and wrist shot
00:27just wide. Glove side by Alex Newhawk. Newhawk six goals in
00:33seven career games versus Ottawa. Laura talked about it.
00:36Bobblehead night's night for him. Newhawk always loves playing
00:39the Senators. Someone from Ottawa's got a clue in here.
00:41Dive back there and get Hallmark. He's sticking his
00:44hands. Pass to Dvorak. He's in. Dvorak forehand score. No stick.
00:50No problem. Dvorak beats him and it's 1-0 Montreal.
00:58And a goalie who did not have his stick. Watch how everyone
01:02darts off Clevin. Hanging in there. The gap up the middle is
01:07monstrous and Dvorak it alone. Oh, he goes to the beanpot.
01:12Tony Amante smiling somewhere. Slam on the brakes and go back
01:15to forehand. Midway point in his first period. Few seconds
01:21remaining in the power play. Zetterlin ready to come out.
01:24Matheson in the corner, charging in his Gallagher.
01:27Joshua Waugh digs it free. Quick shot and handled by
01:30Hallmark. He'll dish. Anderson was trying to hop around his
01:33check and get towards the net. Moved up quickly again for Greg
01:36with Amadio. Greg cutting in towards the net. It's loose.
01:40Montembeau. Oh, Montembeau! What a stop! And the crowd comes
01:46alive. Unbelievable stuff from Samuel Montembeau.
01:50Who absolutely robs Ottawa. They think they have an empty net
01:56here on the rush. Bouncing puck. Amadio takes it out of the way.
02:00Pinto comes through on his forehand. He's got an empty net.
02:04I got to keep Ottawa off the board.
02:09They come again. Good shot. Free shot and another stop.
02:13Montembeau as the fans chanting his name. He's got another stop
02:17on the captain. Clean up the turnovers there.
02:20As the high flipper is stepped up on Nicey by Chabotin.
02:26Kind of cohesive right now for Montreal.
02:29I chatted with Struble about that pairing and he's just
02:32marvels at how he can defend Lane with his size. Badgerson
02:36right in! Score! What a rocket! He walked it right in and ripped
02:41it. 19 on the year for Drake Badgerson and it's 1-1.
02:46And the three fours for Montreal get caught in too deep. Jake
02:48Sanderson jumps and it's a clean three on two. And Savard and
02:53Jack keep backing up. At some point, you have to make them
02:56pass. You just can't keep backing up into the lap of your
02:59goaltender. Yeah, it's bad play off ice, but with Sanderson
03:02activating, Savard's got to slide. Slavkoski's got to try to
03:06get to Jake Sanderson, whatever it might be.
03:09Just the third time in franchise history that two different six
03:13game winning streaks in a season. Sanderson at the line
03:16off the draw for Zub. Zub, wrist shot off the bar!
03:22Patrick Lange takes a pretty good run at him and that was
03:24after this Zub wrister hits the post. Head up the whole way just
03:29trying to find a seam.
03:33Ottawa 0-1 and power play time for the Senators. It's
03:37Matheson. He got stripped of the line though, Kajuk quickly the
03:41other way. Brady Kajuk, wrist shot, rebound, follow up and
03:44Kajuk stopped twice.
03:46Yeah, but he goes to hard areas to get the good back check,
03:49turns it over. Now a lot of guys might pull this up and try to
03:52set it up, but that shot.
03:54Kajuk has it again.
03:57Matheson sets up in front, Stutzler.
04:00Tim Stutzler feeds Matheson through the legs, it's loose.
04:03Cousins there, couldn't jam it in though. And a high clear by
04:06Montreal.
04:07The best chance coming to Dillon, Cousins in front. See
04:10Matheson gets the puck on the goal line, he's got all kinds of
04:12time.
04:13Gave it away at the line, Chabot, wrist shot, Montembeault,
04:16blocker save. Evans for Armia, Yoel Armia, tracking in, Armia
04:22in front, Alvinson's hit! What a stopover!
04:26As that drive missed, everything courtesy Hamannik. Chabot's got
04:30it again. Chabot will leave. Giroux, Hamannik, wrist shot,
04:35bouncing puck, score! Amadio digs it free and buries it. Off
04:40the point shot from Travis Hamannik and it's 2-1 Ottawa.
04:43This one he lets drift through the seven hole as it rides up
04:49and over his shoulder. Montembeault puts the rebound up
04:55into the pile, bounces up maybe off Amadio's hip. And then
05:01Amadio.
05:02He's got some good looks tonight, Urijslevkovski. Here's
05:05Gallagher, 10 seconds left. In the power play for Montreal, new
05:09hook, nice move with speed, cutting in, Alex Neuer, just
05:12missed! Toast the ghost! What a rush from Newhook.
05:17And when you go this fast, sometimes it's hard to control
05:19the puck. Dances Gregg and then this drop to the middle.
05:25And he's had a, he's had such a tough year. You know, Josh
05:28Anderson's been dealing with stuff as well all season long.
05:32Here's Hudson and shoot, score! Lane Hudson, a rocket, 2-2 tie!
05:39He just never stops attacking. Every time he can. This time
05:50he's on his strong side. And he just walks down the wall.
05:54Amadio hands him off to Sanderson while that handoff is
05:57taking place. He's like, you know what? I see his lane, I see
06:01his screen. Toast and in over the shoulder of Olmark.
06:06He'll dish it off. That shot from Struble never found its way
06:09through. And Patherson will start it up ice. Flevin, over
06:14the line, he'll drop it off. Perron stops, waits for help,
06:18finds Hamanek, loads up, score! Travis Hamanek bombs one in and
06:25Ottawa leads again.
06:28And Montreal hoping there's an offside to be had here. I don't
06:32think so if David Perron was in a little early, but he seems it
06:35back to Hamanek, nothing shot. In fact, I think Montebow sends
06:40that one back in off his pad, might have been going wide. And
06:45he pulls it back towards the net. Like the inside of his right
06:50ankle. No screen. Firing at Will, and he's got the go ahead
06:55goal. He's playing the role he is today. It's because Nick
06:57Jentz is not in the lineup. Otherwise he would have been on
07:00the third pair, not on the ice nearly as much. Gallagher, good
07:03steal, got a stick on the puck for Dvorak. Sweeps it across,
07:06Carrier, waiting, shooting, screen in front, score! Josh
07:10Anderson! 3-3 tie!
07:19Could have been disastrous with that near cut. And now it's
07:24celebratory as the good stick from Gallagher turns over the
07:28Hamanek attempted outlet, and they get to the front of the net.
07:32Your best chance to beat Olmark, and that puck never gets to
07:36Olmark. As Hamanek loses body position to Anderson, puck gets
07:40off Anderson, and he's able to find it first to put it home to
07:45tie the game again.
07:46Nick Suzuki, buys some time, up for Matheson. Matheson at the
07:51line. Suzuki, 10 seconds left. Gallagher at the goal line.
07:56Suzuki, waiting, dishing, one time drive, Olmark! Pushed
08:00across, still loose, score! The bottle up try, the captain!
08:05Suzuki, 4-3 Montreal!
08:11I didn't like the first minute and a half with the first group,
08:13I'm hanging in. Finally gets his own entry. This pass over to
08:16Heinemann is a beaut from Suzuki. He gets a lot on that
08:21shot. But give Francois Sandler a lot of credit. The referee's
08:25got the whistle in his mouth to blow it dead. But he recognizes
08:30loose and Brendan Gallagher digs it out. No goal interference,
08:34just pokes it out. But it would have been so easy to blow this
08:38down for the official.
08:40The Molson big moment from the captain. Can Ottawa respond?
08:43Head empty, under two to go. Matheson to the forehand and
08:46Montembeau stuck with him. Matheson, shoulder check. He
08:51sees pressure, able to release. It's up to Josh Anderson,
08:55buries it! Anderson, second in the game. Montreal leads by two.
09:10What plays under pressure. Evans on the boards here to bump
09:15this back to Dvorak who kicks it to Anderson. That's the shot
09:17you take, the one around you on your forehand. But Evans,
09:21Dvorak, Matheson, all the work.
09:25And this group to have a chance. Empty net, Gallagher. Can he
09:33bury one? Stutzler and scores! Brendan Gallagher! The heart and
09:41soul of Montreal. Only fitting that he puts it away.
09:47For Brendan Gallagher, that's a three point night for Brendan
09:50Gallagher. Been nice plays in the wall. Dvorak who's been all
09:53around the puck making smart plays. Dvorak's got himself a
09:57three point game. Anderson might as well as he might have got a
10:00piece of that.
10:03The Montreal Canadiens are in a playoff spot in March at the
10:09Bell Centre on this Thursday night.
