00:00First in our news, PhilHealth has lifted the 45-day limit for hospitalization of a patient or member.
00:09According to PhilHealth President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Edwin Mercado,
00:14it is time to reform this old system because more services need more than 45 days of coverage.
00:24Dr. Mercado also thanked the PhilHealth Board for approving the new policy.
00:30Mercado is giving an example of the severe diseases that require long-term hospitalization
00:37and continuous receiving of health services that do not worry if they will be able to pay their debts.
00:44PhilHealth will also monitor the patients who are admitted to the hospital
00:49to ensure that the clinical standard and reimbursement rules are followed.
00:54His goal is to ensure that every service supported by PhilHealth is truly satisfying to the members.
