00:00Good news to the members of PhilHealth because the 45-day hospitalization limit has been lifted.
00:06Joshua Garcia has the details.
00:11We will add that in 2025, the services that PhilHealth will provide will be more.
00:19The payment that will be given to the insurance claim will be bigger.
00:25This is the firm promise that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. made to the Filipinos before the end of 2024.
00:33The President insisted that Filipinos can expect more services from PhilHealth.
00:38And just a few months ago, that promise of President Marcos Jr. was fulfilled.
00:44Aside from the increased benefit packages for various medical conditions,
00:48another important step was taken by the agency.
00:51This is the lifting of their 45-day benefit limit.
00:54Under this rule, the maximum hospital confinement of their members will only reach 45 days within a year.
01:02But now, the worries of our fellow Filipinos will be lessened
01:06because the board approved the update to the so-called police.
01:10PhilHealth has lifted the 45-day benefit limit
01:14so that the services of the agency will remain unhindered.
01:19According to PhilHealth, many services require more than 45 days of coverage,
01:26just like hemodialysis.
01:29According to PhilHealth's Acting President and CEO, Dr. Edwin Mercado,
01:33the reform to the so-called cost containment strategy, which he called outdated, will be implemented soon.
01:39Mercado insists that no one will know or be able to schedule our medical needs.
01:45Many services also require more than 45 days of coverage.
01:49In addition, PhilHealth wants the Filipinos who have chronic conditions
01:55and need long hospitalization to continue receiving health services
02:00that do not need to worry about their financial capacity.
02:04The agency also reminds that the availability of benefits still needs to go through the right process
02:10and meets the medical needs and treatment plan of the patient.
02:15It will also monitor the compliance of health facilities for clinical standards and reimbursement rules.
02:22Joshua Garcia for Pambansang TV in Pago, Philippines.
