00:00What specifically are you doing to stop these things that Trump is doing?
00:06That's a really good question Benjamin. Let me step back a little.
00:14Oftentimes when you have the executive branch and they are doing things
00:22that we oppose, you would have Congress step in, utilize their Article 1 rights,
00:33and push back against it. But in the way that Congress is designed, our collective
00:42power can only be triggered by the Speaker of the House and the majority
00:49leader in the Senate. And because as Democrats we are in the minority, we
00:54don't have any congressional powers to be able to go after what we
01:02deem unconstitutional in regards to what the executive branch is doing. So
01:08because of that, we have teamed up with attorney generals across the country,
01:17outside advocacy groups, and we've created a litigation and response task
01:24force. And we've been working collectively together to bring about the
01:30lawsuits that you are seeing. And so that's kind of been the work
01:36that we are doing to push back. And we are winning in the courts. The
01:43Trump team has not had a single win. And we know that that's why they are
01:49deciding to disregard and not obey with the court rulings because they know
01:59what they're doing is illegal. And we just have to continue to push and
02:04utilize the judiciary as the only one that now has the authority to have that
02:10check on the executive.
