00:00Over the weekend, Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act.

00:06This is the first time in our nation's history that this law has been used outside of wartime.

00:13We knew this was coming, which is why I introduced the Neighbors Not Enemies Act to repeal this

00:20outdated law because I knew the risk it poses in the hands of someone like Donald Trump.

00:27This old law allows Trump to expel people from our country based on their nationality

00:32alone just by claiming that they have invaded the United States.

00:39We don't know the charges or the evidence against the 238 people that Trump deported

00:45over the weekend, but we do know that a judge ordered Trump not to proceed, yet he went

00:51ahead with it anyway.

00:54Trump is openly disobeying judicial orders and he is ignoring the laws that Congress

01:02has passed.

01:03This is the definition of a constitutional crisis.

01:07When you take stock of everything that Trump has done over the last two months, it is clear

01:13what's happening.

01:15Trump wants to be a dictator.

01:17He will continue to ignore our constitution, our laws, and the checks and balances that

01:22have been the bedrock of our country for 250 years.

01:28Republicans in Congress are unwilling to challenge Trump.

01:32They have abandoned their oaths to protect the constitution, and our society will reckon

01:39with this chapter in our history for generations.

01:43Across the world, countries are seeing the United States fall.

01:47They are seeing Trump try to annex our ally Canada and berate Zelensky in the Oval Office

01:54while he cozies up to dictators like Putin.

01:59They are seeing us abandon foreign aid, which for generations was widely regarded as the

02:05most important diplomatic work the U.S. does.

02:10People are starving to death right now while food rots in warehouses for no reason other

02:17than Trump wants it.

02:19This betrayal is not something we will recover from quickly, if we ever do.

02:25This is what the collapse of our constitutional democracy looks like.

02:30This moment in our history requires all of us to be speaking out and showing up.

02:37Keep posting on social media.

02:40Keep going to protests.

02:42Keep calling your members of Congress.

02:44Make sure your family and friends, represented by Republicans, are calling their elected

02:49officials and make sure they are registered to vote.

02:53Submit comments on these proposed rule changes.

02:58Speak out in every way you can, especially if you or the organization you work at are

03:04personally impacted.

03:06We cannot, and I repeat, we cannot normalize what is happening.

03:10This is not normal.

03:12We cannot let our fears of retribution stop us from speaking out.

03:17We cannot comply with Trump's efforts to roll us back to segregation, discrimination, or war.

03:25We need to fight like our country depends on it, because it does.
