00:00We've been telling you for a long time that Canada is going elbows up.
00:05They are not going to be bullied by the Trump regime, and now we're finally seeing corporate
00:11media start to recognize this.
00:14For example, the headlines for the past few days from Politico, what other countries are
00:19taking away from Trump's battle with Canada?
00:24News from USA Today, Canadian cold shoulder, Trump's antics anger our otherwise polite
00:30neighbor.
00:31You think?
00:32From the Washington Post, these Canadians are canceling US trips as Trump sours relations.
00:40In notes explaining why they're not coming, Canadians say farewell for now.
00:45And by the way, we told you that while the US Tourism Bureau was expecting that the Canadian
00:52boycott would be around 10%, I was saying, no way.
00:56I said, it's going to be closer to 50 to 75, closer to 100% as in most Canadians are not
01:03coming to the United States unless they absolutely had to.
01:06And even if it was 10%, it would have made a massively devastating impact on the United
01:12States.
01:13So just imagine what actually is happening right now when those numbers start to show
01:17themselves in economic reports.
01:19Or how about this headline?
01:21How Trump united Canada against him and flipped its election upside down.
01:27But despite all of this, the Trump regime is not changing its tone or tune.
01:33Secretary of State Marco Rubio was in Canada for the G7 Summit and he was asked about Donald
01:39Trump's desire to annex Canada.
01:41And here's what the American Secretary of State said.
01:43Do you understand why the Canadians are taking such umbrage at these comments coming from
01:49the president?
01:51The Canadian government has made their position, how they feel about it, clear.
01:57The president has made his argument as to why he thinks Canada would be better off joining
02:00the United States for economic purposes.
02:03There's a disagreement between the president's position and the position of the Canadian
02:06government.
02:07I don't think that's a mystery coming in.
02:08And it wasn't a topic of conversation because that's not what the summit was about.
02:11I want to share this with you as well.
02:14This was a protest recently in Basel, Switzerland, just shows you when the people in Switzerland
02:20are pissed at you.
02:21I think this tells you where the Trump regime is right now.
02:39I'm here with now Charlie Angus, Member of Parliament in Canada.
02:43Now Charlie, you have Marco Rubio, Secretary of State, says, look, it's a disagreement.
02:48On the one hand, Donald Trump wants to annex and take over Canada.
02:53On the other hand, Canada does not want to be conquered and taken over.
02:57You know, just a disagreement while he's out there in Canada.
03:00What's your response to all of this?
03:01Well, I think Marco Rubio probably needs to be sent back to school because when you say
03:06that someone doesn't have a right to have a country, that's an act of war.
03:10When you rip up arbitrarily trade agreements and threaten and say you're going to break
03:16a country, that's an act of war.
03:18And Canadians have responded in kind.
03:21The boycott that Canada has launched against the United States is punishing.
03:25We were told in January a 10% drop in Canadian travel to the United States would cost 140,000
03:33jobs.
03:34We're seeing at least a 40% drop now.
03:37And we're getting these nightmare stories of ICE detention centers, of people who traveling
03:43across the border to fix their visa or that, who've been strip searched, chained, kept
03:49in deplorable conditions.
03:53Is Donald Trump really trying to destroy the tourism industry in the United States?
03:58And then like three days before St. Patrick's Day, picks a fight with the Irish.
04:03Of all people, you're going to pick a fight with the Irish on the eve of St. Patrick's
04:06Day, throwing 200% tariffs and then 200% tariffs on France?
04:11That's the last bottle of bourbon that will be sold in a generation in Europe.
04:14So what we're really picking up here is not just the rising level of resistance in Canada.
04:22I've been on a tour through the industrial heartland of Canada and the resistance is
04:28so much stronger than I could have even dreamed.
04:31But we're picking up now the rest of the world is watching Canada and following our
04:38strategy, which is to just disengage and to disengage economically.
04:43So the United States has become a much weaker force on the stage of the world.
04:48If people aren't buying products, if people aren't traveling, if people aren't willing
04:53to buy anything American right now, that's hurting so many American businesses who are
04:59basically collateral damage in Donald Trump and Marco Rubio and J.D.
05:03Vance's idiotic campaign to please the MAGA voters.
05:09It's hurting us to some degree.
05:12But it's right now we think the impact on the average American business that has always
05:18had good relations with people in their markets, they're getting punched in the face right
05:25now because of what Donald Trump's doing.
05:27One of the things you had told me going into this, as you and I have been talking now for
05:32several months, is that Canada was prepared.
05:36They were ready.
05:37But the United States wasn't.
05:39We were being fed a lot of disinformation and our media was parroting Trump's line that
05:46tariffs are just going to be great.
05:50In your assessment, any surprises that you've seen?
05:53Is it going as you thought?
05:55Is the Canadian unity even more than you expected?
06:00Is the boycott stronger?
06:02What's your assessment as you do this resistance tour?
06:04Again, I've started this elbows up resistance tour, and I've been down in the along the
06:11Highway 401 corridor, which, you know, in central sort of, I guess, Central North America,
06:17this is the industrial belt that feeds the auto sector.
06:20It feeds manufacturing.
06:22Many of the communities that live along this sector, they rely on parts coming in from
06:27the U.S. and they ship parts to the U.S.
06:30So there's a lot of uncertainty.
06:34Steel operations that actually import from the U.S.
06:38but then export to the U.S. to other markets.
06:43I've been talking to a lot of people who are deeply uncertain.
06:45But what I also get is the sense of rage that Donald Trump is trying to rip this up and
06:51trying to divide communities that, you know, from my regions like London, Oshawa, Windsor
06:58that have been tied to Detroit, to Lansing, to Toledo.
07:02There's a real anger right now.
07:04But at the rallies that I've been at, I've never seen I've never seen numbers like this.
07:10I've never seen people as willing to go to the wall because they actually and this is
07:15really important to understand Canadians get that this threat against us is an act of war.
07:22So we're not picking up guns yet.
07:24But we are really forming up into lines in terms of resistance to making sure that we
07:30are not buying and doing the outreach to wherever we have to do to build solidarity.
07:37So when we see the resistance starting in Europe, there's a lot of
07:40engagement now with France, with Ireland, with European countries to say this is the model.
07:49You have to you have to make the United States pay a huge economic price for the
07:55stupidity that Donald Trump has has unleashed.
07:59And I don't think given the chaos, whether it's he's picking a fight with China,
08:04he's picked a fight with Canada, he's picked a fight with Ireland,
08:08he's picked a fight with the EU, he's picking a fight with French wines.
08:12You cannot sustain this kind of rage and stupidity with that many enemies.
08:18So Canada might be number one in his gun sites, but we look around and we think,
08:22hey, this guy's fighting with everybody right now.
08:25It's not sustainable for the American economy.
08:27Did you see Donald Trump's one of his top advisors, Peter Navarro?
08:32He's been going on TV and he's been saying, whoa, whoa, whoa,
08:36Canada, tone down that rhetoric, tone it down.
08:39What are you what are you doing?
08:41You know, show us a little more respect when you hear things like that.
08:45What do you think?
08:46Well, we saw two really important indicators last week.
08:52Was it Mr. Lutnick, the Baghdad Bob of trade negotiations for the United States
08:58who said that Canada wasn't showing that we were grateful?
09:02Are you kidding me?
09:03You've threatened our nation and you said we're not being grateful.
09:06And then he said we're acting like Ukraine.
09:09Well, in Canada right now, we're thinking we'll be Ukraine any day
09:13if Donald Trump's a two bit Putin.
09:16So that was the first message.
09:17And then Peter Navarro came out and said, hey, Canada, settle down.
09:21Stop talking about taking the gloves off and hitting us.
09:24We think that cooler heads are going to prevail.
09:27Great.
09:27You don't want us to hit you?
09:29Then stop this idiocy.
09:32Because if you're freaked out now, Pete, wait till you see when we actually
09:38not only drop the gloves, but and people in Canada have said to me, Charlie,
09:42you left out the other part.
09:43It's the bench clearing brawl moment where we all go over the board.
09:47So, Pete, I feel bad that you're feeling a little upset now.
09:51I get that you're getting kind of freaked out that Canada is getting angry.
09:56We will put our gloves back on, but you tone it down dramatically.
10:01Or we are going over the boards.
10:02We're dropping the gloves.
10:03We're going to pull a jersey over your head and we are going to do the classic Canadian
10:08bench clearing brawl, which at the end of the game is going to be a lot of people hurt.
10:11But we will still be standing.
10:13Finally, Charlie, I always ask you at the end of these interviews to direct a message
10:17to Donald Trump.
10:18We know that the Trump team goes through these interviews and they clip them and they cut
10:24them.
10:24So if he's watching this or his team's watching it, what's your message, Charlie Angus to
10:30Donald Trump?
10:31Well, Donald, how many fights can you pick before you really prove to the world that
10:36you lose every single one of them?
10:40Your fight against Canada that I mean, you've kissed up to Putin.
10:44You bow down to him like you're like some obedient boy scout.
10:48This guy is a war criminal.
10:50This man is a disgrace.
10:51You've kissed up to North Korea.
10:54And yet your biggest threat in the world is Canada, because you thought we were easy.
10:59You thought we were going to roll over.
11:00And we haven't.
11:01And it's freaking you out.
11:02That's why you're sending Pete Navarro out there.
11:04So, Donald, like we want to go back to working with our neighbors.
11:08We want to go back to working with the communities on the other side of the border that we've
11:13worked with for generations who are our friends, who are our neighbors.
11:17But if you're going to make them our enemy, well, Donald, we're going to fight you the
11:22whole way.
11:23And you're going to lose.
11:25You can't keep control of your economy as it is, Donald.
11:29It's starting to turn into a total circus.
11:33You've got to understand, Donald, that the economy is something bigger and broader and
11:39smarter than your stupidity right now.
11:41So if Canada is going to be the front line, and we've always said whenever there's a
11:45dirty job in the war, whenever it was a thankless job, whenever the job had no glory, well,
11:51if defending democracy and defending the international rule of law has become a thankless job, give
11:57it to Canadians, because we're going to do that job, Donald.
12:01And we are going to stand on the other side with our heads held up high.
12:05So it's up to you, Donald.
12:07Do what you're going to do.
12:08But we're ready.
