00:00Welcome to today's vlog, a new series on my channel that's kind of an old series.
00:21If you've been around for a little bit, I had this home in Hawaii series back when I
00:25lived with my parents and I did about six or seven episodes.
00:29And one of the reasons why you guys loved those videos is basically me just sharing
00:32my life here as someone who has grown up and lived here her whole life.
00:37And so kind of sharing different things that I like to do, sprinkling in some culture fun
00:43and kind of just sharing my life here.
00:45A lot has changed since I have made those videos.
00:48I think it's been like three or four years since the last time I did it.
00:51I no longer live in my parents' house.
00:53I am my own homeowner here in Hawaii, which is crazy and such a blessing.
00:57So I wanted to bring this series back because I always loved making these videos and I know
01:01you guys loved watching them.
01:03And I guess it's kind of similar to the normal vlogs I do, I'm just like showing my life
01:06here, but I want to be a little bit more intentional in these specific videos about sharing obviously
01:10the more fun things that I do, but also like shouting out local brands that I like and
01:15just different things like that.
01:16I always really like when a creator has kind of like a signature series.
01:20So hopefully this is the beginning of one for me.

03:52I'm home from the beach.
04:19I thought I'd show you my post-surf routine, kind of the products that I use and what I
04:23do when I've spent the morning out surfing.
04:25Of course, everything's salty.
04:27The hair is crunchy, so I'm going to take a shower.
04:40I did a little hair mask, which is usually just a special occasion type thing, but I
04:45haven't done it in a while.
04:46This one is from Shu Uemura.
04:49It's the Ultimate Reset one.
04:51I feel like with the amount that I go into saltwater, I just want to take good care of
04:55my hair because sometimes it can get really crunchy.
04:57I definitely try to take care of it as much as I can.
05:00Then I'm just going to use this little leave-in treatment, make it nice and moisturized.
05:08Then for my body, if I'm really feeling like I need it, I will use a lotion, which I'm
05:14not someone who uses lotion very often.
05:16I maybe lotion my body maybe twice a month, but I like this one from Josie Moran.
05:21It's really good.
05:22Of course, the Bum Bum Cream is OG.
05:26Sometimes my skin is just a little drier than others.
05:29I'll just put some on my legs.
05:31I think for me, it's just a texture thing.
05:34Anytime I have stuff on my legs, I just feel really slimy.
05:37I don't know.
05:38Sometimes I almost like having dry skin, especially in my bedsheets.
05:43I don't know.
05:44Then I'll put some on my arms, and voila.
05:47I'm just going to wash my face to get off the sunscreen that I had on earlier this morning.
05:52I do not go a day without wearing sunscreen, whether I'm going to the beach or not.
05:58Nothing too elaborate or crazy, but that is my post-surf routine.

06:06We're having a fun little day today.
06:08I'm in Passenger Princess Spa, of course.
06:10Mike is driving.
06:11We're on the east side.
06:13Took a little road trip, a.k.a. 45-minute drive, because we're having a little day out,
06:18which we normally don't do.
06:19We normally don't come to this side.
06:21Even when we used to live more in town, we never used to come this way that often.
06:26I literally have vlogs from 2016 of me coming to the beach over here with my sister.
06:32This used to be Mike's favorite place to come.
06:35We're reliving the good old days today, but together.
06:38Actually, crazy story.
06:40It must have been, what, in 2017?
06:42You saw me here with my sister, and you said to your friend,
06:45like, look, that's Ava Jules.
06:47So we're going back.
06:50I don't remember it.
06:51And you know what's crazy?
06:53Me airing our business, I go, he actually remembers what swimsuit I was wearing.
06:57Because I was like, there's no way you actually remember that.
06:59And he's like, weren't you wearing this pineapple swimsuit?
07:01And I was like, yes.
07:03So anyway, very full circle day today.
07:05We're having a little date day, which I'm really excited about.
07:08And yeah, we're going to get some coffee, get some poke bowls,
07:12and it's going to be a really good day.
07:14There's a bigger reason we're over here,
07:17and that's because one of my favorite shave ice spots that's over here
07:22is closing for good, which is so sad.
07:24So we were like, let's just make a whole day out of it.
07:26So I thought I'd vlog, bring you along.
07:28It's going to be a fun little day.

09:30If you're going to swim in the ocean,
09:32this is what I use for my face.
09:34It's from Supergoop.
09:36This one is Sun Bum.
09:38I use this for my body.
09:40What you want to look for is only having
09:42titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.
09:44All the other ingredients can harm the reefs.
09:46Look out for that.
09:48Those are some of my favorite brands.
09:50Sun Bum and Supergoop, the mineral ones,
09:52are safe to use in the ocean.
09:54Of course, we have a speaker to play some music.

10:52because their shave ice was literally amazing.
10:54They're closing, so I was like,
10:56let's go for their last day.
10:58Their last day was yesterday.
11:00I looked it up and it said closed.
11:02That was our whole plan
11:04to come here today, but it's okay.
11:06Believe it or not, even though I'm very
11:08positive on the internet,
11:10in real life, sometimes I...
11:12That would have ruined my day,
11:14but Mike is very positive.
11:16He's like, there are other shave ices.
11:18We're still going to get our shave ice.
11:20I'm really sad that we never got to get
11:22Uncle Clee's though. We were looking forward
11:24to that, but I truly did fumble that bag.

11:32a meltdown. We've got two
11:34vanilla shave ice
11:36with mochi, with ice cream
11:38on the bottom. Micah got snow cap on the top.
11:40We said this last time we came here
11:42because I vlogged. If you ever find yourself
11:44in Ewa for some reason,
11:46Ewa Seed Co. It's Micah's like childhood
11:48favorite place. Best shave ice on the island.

11:52I could argue with that, but it is

11:58a little coffee. It's
12:002 p.m., about to be 2. I've got some
12:02cooking plans because it is
12:04Hannah's birthday, and she requested
12:06for me to make pasta. We're doing like
12:08a little picnic, which is going to be really
12:10fun, and I'm really excited to celebrate her.
12:12So, I told her, I was like, I can
12:14do the classic Gigi Hadid
12:16vodka pasta. I've made that before.
12:18It's so good. Or, I can try
12:20a new recipe. I've been wanting to do like a
12:22lemony style pasta. I
12:24wanted to do chicken piccata at first,
12:26but I didn't really feel like being
12:28liable making chicken for people. So, I
12:30found this recipe. Creamy
12:32lemon pasta. If it's good, I'll definitely
12:34link it down below, but the picture looks good.
12:36And I feel like, I mean,
12:38it's really hard to
12:40mess up pasta. But yeah, it sounds really
12:42good. I love anything lemon
12:44related, so it should be really
12:46good. Some creaminess.
12:48Mmm. I'm about to get started on that.
12:50We're having like a early-ish
12:52dinner, and then
12:54probably like watch the sunset and stuff. It'll
12:56be really, really fun.

13:04gluten-free for people, and then
13:06one just regular.
13:08I'm a chef for the people, you know? Everyone
13:10and everyone's diet will be included
13:12unless they are dairy-free, because I'm about to
13:14put so much heavy whipping cream in this bitch.
13:16But it's gonna be really good! I'm very
13:18excited.
13:44And here we go. This might be one of the cutest things
13:46I've ever done. Honestly, I think the garnishes
13:48just make a really big difference with like
13:50the little gluten-free pasta
13:52flag and just the lemons and stuff. So,
13:54I'm very excited to eat it. I did do a little
13:56taste test, and I would definitely
13:58link this down below. I feel like it
14:00kinda matched the vibe. I am
14:02literally sweating. Put my whole back
14:04into that. Yeah, a very
14:06simple meal to make, but I still
14:08feel like there's effort in there, you know?
14:10I'm cooking the regular pasta now,
14:12and then we'll get ready to head out.

14:48Hannah for her birthday. Nothing too
14:50crazy, just a little something something. I believe
14:52I've shared about this brand on my Instagram
14:54before, but I don't know about YouTube. It's the brand
14:56Jewels and Gem, a local company,
14:58which obviously I love to support,

15:14they have really nice

15:20smells, and I just think it's really unique.
15:22So this one is
15:24a reed diffuser in
15:26a pua kenikeni scent, which is one of my
15:28favorite flowers, and I also
15:30got that for her in a sugar
15:32scrub, which will be really fun, because
15:34you can do a little self-care,
15:36have your house smell like literally
15:38the best flower. If you've smelt pua kenikeni,
15:40then you know it is
15:42so delicious, so
15:44I'm excited. I'm gonna wrap
15:46that up for her, pack up
15:48my pasta dishes, and
15:50head to North Shore.

16:28Happy March. I think this is
16:30such a nice time of year. I feel like everyone starts
16:32to defrost from their winter
16:34selves. Not that I have any right to speak
16:36on that, but I feel like the vibes are good
16:38in March. February, personally,
16:40went by really fast, but I'm very excited for this
16:42month. We have some fun things going on. Definitely
16:44gonna vlog all the
16:46things. I feel like I don't vlog a
16:48lot in this room, but
16:50this is my little office
16:52room. We've got this cute carpet in it.
16:54It's caused a lot of controversy in my comments.
16:56People either love it or hate it. I think
16:58it's really cute. This is also a pull-out
17:00bed, so in case we have guests
17:02that stay over, which has actually never
17:04happened, but it's nice to have just in
17:06case. Today's a Saturday.
17:08Don't really have a lot going on, but
17:10might tackle some home projects.
