00:00All right, so now let's go to one that's not necessarily a big sleeper, but I'm very curious to your thoughts, George, on Walker Buehler, who looked so great in the postseason and is switching leagues, he's switching teams.
00:11Look, those numbers, throw them out. Those are not Walker Buehler numbers. What will they be this year?
00:17I mean, you know, he went very late in my draft on Monday, which is surprising. I thought he would go much higher. I think I have a higher opinion of Buehler than most.
00:26All right. I would probably take him between rounds 10 and 12, but he goes really around 18. He goes much higher than I expect there for Walker Buehler.
00:36He's pitching in Fenway, all right, so he's got to make that adjustment here, but I think a full year after the surgery now, all right, after he came back from it, was very good in the postseason.
00:45I think he's going to be Walker Buehler again. Do I think he's going deep into games? No, I think those days are done.
00:50Do I think he's pitching 200 innings? Probably not, but from where I can get him, the risk is more than worth it to me.
00:55I think Boston's going to be a better team, so I think that if he's going to have run support, so there won't be a whole bunch of pressure to win 3-2 games here.
01:02Not that he had that with the Dodgers, he didn't, but I like Walker Buehler, but I'm the first person to tell you, the Dodgers letting him go and not making an effort to keep him is concerning.
01:11They know his arm, his shoulder better than anybody else, yet they went in different directions here, so that does concern me somewhat, but I think he's going to have a good selling year.
01:20He may be half a year before you want to move on from him, but he's a guy I can't let go of, Craig. He's always on half the teams I draft on.
01:30All right, so now how did this name show up on our list here? Sam, was it you?
01:37George is not going to like this. Marcus Stroman, sleeper time, George. Come on, bring it.
01:45Well, no Yankee can be a sleeper, all right? There's a Yankee.
01:49He is right about that. No, you can't have a Yankee as a sleeper.
01:55Right, because Will Warren probably would have been a better name here for a sleeper, but Stroman is the anti-Julio Rodriguez.
02:02You want Stroman in April and May, and then you want to move on. Well, Julio Rodriguez, you want to trade for in June once he wakes up here.
02:09Stroman, listen, he was terrible last year. Any way you look at it, the Yankees benched him.
02:13He didn't pitch the last half. He didn't pitch in the playoffs here, and the Yankees would have given him away for a bag of baseballs this spring, but nobody wanted him, mainly because if he pitches, you said 150 innings.
02:24That's the devil's mark for the Yankees. If he pitches that, then his option picks up next year, so the Yankees do not want him to reach that because they want to move on from this contract here.
02:34I think he'll be fine the first two months, and you're going to need to move on here.
02:37He is getting racked in spring training, by the way, but that spring training, he's a veteran, just getting his work in.
02:41Not so worried about that. Going to start game two for the Yankees against Milwaukee.
02:45Like I said, first couple of months, I think you'll be okay, and then you want to move on.
02:48That's his history. He's a five-and-fly guy. He's not going through that line three times yet, so just keep that in mind.
02:54All right, and finally, we get to—this is a sleeper for a lot of people in the community.
02:59That's Jake Irvin, 156 strikeouts last year. More is expected. I'm not surprised to see him because of two reasons.
03:06Yes, he is a sleeper, and the other reason, he's a Washington National, so of course he's going to make our list.
03:13Why? Is somebody a Nationals fan? Juan Soto, a great defensive player.
03:18Yeah, listen, Irvin's fine. Once again, deeper guy. You're not relying on him to start game in a game.
03:23He was good last year. The Nationals are a better team they're giving credit for.
03:27People are sort of forgetting about them. Are they going to compete with the Phillies, Braves, and Mets?
03:32Probably not, but I think they'll be more of a representative team this year.
03:36Irvin's the guy I like to be your SP5, SP6 matchup guy. You'll be fine.
