00:19So, how's this going to work out?

00:22George Devers will start more games at third than Bregman this season.

00:29Yeah, Devers is a horrific third baseman.

00:33I think he ranks dead last in the league here.
00:34I think the only question for the Red Sox here is that Bregman could opt out at the
00:38end of this year.
00:39So, do you really want to ask somebody that you've signed for a long-term contract, what
00:43did Devers sign, 11 years, 321 million, he's going to be there forever.
00:47Do you want to ask him, and you're going to tick him off, to go play DH, and then next
00:51year, ah, my bad, go back to third base?
00:55You know, I think that's the only issue here, because the Red Sox are certainly a better
00:57team.
00:58But Bregman at third, you know, put up the youngster, put him at second base, and Devers
01:03at DH.
01:04You're a better team.
01:05And if Devers, by the way, if you care about winning, and by the way, Devers has bitched
01:08about, hey, we need to make moves here, we need to get better, well, they do that.
01:12And if you're still not, if you're going to be a problem moving to DH, then you don't
01:16care about winning.
01:17You don't.
01:18Anyway, if Devers starts more games at third base than Bregman this season, that's a sell
01:22for me.
01:23I think he starts very few unless Bregman gets hurt.

01:51I'm going to say that Devers starts like 90 games at third base this season.
01:56And I think that'll probably be the compromise here.
01:59I think that Bregman will start some, Devers will start some.
02:03Bregman's still a gold glove third baseman at this stage of his career.

02:08You know, the other thing that happened is over the course of Big Poppy's career, he
02:11moved off first base, he went to DH and Big Poppy was Devers, right?
02:16I mean, pretty similar in stature there, but Devers just seems to be really dug in
02:21on this.
02:22I think if it was going to happen, George, we would know by now.

02:28So I am going to buy, I don't think Devers plays 150 at third base or even 140 or anything
02:33like that.
02:34But I do think he plays more than Bregman at third.
02:37I think that they have a compromise where they play both.
