00:00Good morning. There's definitely a chillier feel to things at the moment than we've had of late.
00:05Some of us have woken up to a touch of frost. There are also a few showers around, and we're going to see more showers developing as we go through later on, being pushed through on a north-north-easterly wind,
00:15continuing with the showery theme as we go through Wednesday and, to be honest, through much of this week.
00:20But high pressure out towards the west is going to build as we head into the weekend, and so that is going to quieten our weather down. Things are likely to turn a bit drier by Saturday and Sunday.
00:30Before all that, though, let's go through the rest of today. A bit of a cloudy and milder start across southern parts, any rain quickly clearing away.
00:38Elsewhere, a bit chilly for some of us, but lots of bright skies around, but, like I said, a scattering of showers.
00:43The showers mainly across parts of Scotland, down the North Sea coastal parts, but also across parts of Northern Ireland as well.
00:49Worth bearing in mind, these showers could be a bit heavy, an odd rumble of thunder not out of the question, and we are seeing some wintriness with these showers as well.
00:57We're talking above 200-300 metres, some sleet, some snow quite likely, perhaps even a bit of growlpool, though, to lower levels at times as well.
01:04Temperatures in the south markedly lower than they have been of late. High single figures just about getting into double digits at best, so feeling quite a bit chillier, even though these only are around average for the time of year.
01:16Further north, temperatures maybe a degree or so higher than yesterday, but we do need to factor in a brisk north-north-easterly wind, so that is going to make it feel a little bit chillier.
01:25As we go through later on, and as I said, the showers will become more of a thing for many places.
01:30They're going to spread a bit further southwards, so even across central-southern parts of England and Wales, a greater chance of seeing some showers for a time overnight.
01:37And still, there could be the odd heavier one, but in between the showers, some clear skies are likely to develop, and as a result, again, we're going to see a touch of frost, particularly in prone spots.
01:47Towards the south, it does look markedly chillier than it was last night, because there will be some clearer skies and because the colder air has made its way across the whole of the country.
01:56And do be aware, as well as the frost, if we have any showers and clearing to clearer skies, allowing those temperatures to dip, we could see some icy patches first thing tomorrow morning.
02:05Otherwise, through tomorrow, I think there will be a few more showers around compared to today.
02:10Still, the showers most frequent in areas exposed to that north-north-easterly wind, so eastern parts of Scotland, down the eastern coast of England as well.
02:18But through the day, the showers becoming pretty widespread.
02:21Away from western Scotland, maybe Northern Ireland here staying largely dry, but elsewhere, most places likely to see a scattering of showers.
02:28And again, couldn't rule out a bit of sleet or snow over modest higher ground, and some rumbles of thunder are quite possible as well.
02:35Temperatures likely to be generally a degree or so down compared to today, so although there will be some bright or sunny spells at times, on the whole, it's looking relatively cloudy.
02:45Still a brisk wind, so feeling a bit chilly at times.
02:48Now, as we go through later on this week, like I mentioned, there is high pressure building.
02:52Definitely one to keep an eye out because there could be some drier weather this weekend.
02:56But if you want to know more, why not watch the deep dive, which will be available with Honour later on.
03:00See you later.
