A spaceship has captured stunning close-up footage of the Moon, including breathtaking scenes of Earth rising and setting behind it.
The footage, shared on February 19, was taken by Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost lunar lander during a 16-second burn on February 18, which placed the craft into a near-circular lunar orbit.
Since launching aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket on January 15, the lander has been capturing remarkable images of both Earth and the Moon.
Blue Ghost is set to land on the Moon on March 2 as part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative.
