03:40Hello everyone and welcome to Tallahassee, Florida
03:43and ECW Hardcore TV.
03:45I'm Joey Styles.
03:46We are counting down the days to the Living Dangerously pay-per-view
03:49Sunday night, March 12th.
03:51It is time for our first matchup.
03:57The full-blooded Italians, Leno Guido and Big Sal
04:01making their way to the ring.
04:04Little Guido wearing the Italian flag.
04:10Does he realize just how disrespectful that is?
04:16And he claims to be a full-blooded Italian?
04:19I'd like to see him try that, Little Italy.
04:23Can't sleep with the fishes.
04:30Chaz Taylor set to go one-on-one with Little Guido
04:34here next on ECW Hardcore TV.
04:39Don't go away.
04:44Welcome back to ECW Hardcore TV.
04:47Big Sal orbiting the ringside area like the 600-pound planet that he is.
04:53Little Guido with the waist-lock takedown on Chaz Taylor,
04:56second-generation wrestler, son of Tugboat Taylor.
05:01Oh, Tugboat Chaz Taylor, you may remember,
05:03featured on the Global Wrestling Federation.
05:08Used to be on ESPN.
05:16Waist-lock now by Chaz Taylor, reversal by Little Guido.
05:21Chaz gets rolled up, two count.
05:35Clean break by Little Guido.
05:37I don't think we'll see that again in this matchup.
05:41Side headlock now by Chaz Taylor.
05:46Shoulder block, down goes Guido.
05:48Taylor, full head of steam, gets tripped up by Sal.
05:53Roll-up countered by a pair of nice elbows.
05:56Leapfrog by Guido, waist-lock.
06:00Atomic and inverted atomic drops.
06:07That's going to tell you when we can't air.
06:08Two count.
06:12Thumb in the eye.
06:15Jawbreaker by Chaz Taylor.
06:20Chaz now going to the turnbuckles.
06:23All the way up top.
06:26Took way too much time.
06:28Got caught.
06:29The Fujiwara armbar referee right there.
06:35And Chaz Taylor makes it to the bottom rope.
06:39Otherwise he surely would have given it up.
06:49Guido chomping away in the corner.
06:51Reversal out of the corner on the Italian whip.
06:54Elbow to the mux.
06:57Nice power slam.
06:58Good rotation and a two count.
07:01Taylor didn't have all of his body weight across Guido's torso.
07:05Up top now.
07:07Misses the moonsault as Chaz Taylor.
07:11Oklahoma roll.
07:13Two count for Guido.
07:20Chaz torn to the outside.
07:22Hits hard here at the Leon County Civic Center in Tallahassee.
07:26And hits the steel even harder.
07:31With your eye on Big Sal.
07:37Taylor has no idea what's coming.
07:41Big Sal misses.
07:43He missed.
07:44He bent the guard rail.
07:49I think Big Sal is even bigger than the Sportatorium that Chaz used to wrestle in.
07:55Chaz Taylor may have saved his own life
07:58by crawling out of the corner.
08:04Guido hammering away with forearms.
08:07Irish whip.
08:10Beautiful DDT.
08:13Cover, hook of the leg.
08:16Two and a half.
08:20Guido set for the ride again.
08:24Chaz Taylor barely gets him over his knee.
08:26Knee may have buckled on the back body drop.
08:30Taylor climbing the turnbuckle skin again with respect to Guido.
08:34He gets caught.
08:36And landed.
08:40But is able to kick out.
08:47There's the morentado for getabout.
08:59Little Guido gets the victory.
09:08Little Guido with the morentado.
09:11Another victim here this week on ECW Hardcore TV.
09:41Rob Van Dam defending the belt against Sabu.
09:43And on that night the student surpassed his potential.
09:53Rob Van Dam made his way to the ring in the Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, Alabama.
10:02Every fan in the building on their feet for Mr. PPV, Mr. Pay-Per-View Rob Van Dam.
10:12He has been the ECW World Television Champion for almost two years.
10:17He is the longest reigning champion in professional wrestling.
10:21And he is undefeated on Pay-Per-View.
10:25His undefeated Pay-Per-View streak goes all the way back to April 13th of 1997.
10:32ECW Barely Legal.
10:38He proved it. Had it not been for the broken leg he suffered against Rhino in Orlando, Florida.
10:44Nobody would have taken that title from him.
10:47He turned back every challenger to his World TV title reign.
10:55There's Rob's wife Sonja Zatkowski who will surely be an inspiration to Rob.
11:00As he spends the next 12 weeks healing, rehabbing the leg.
11:07It was in July that she suffered a horrific injury to her leg.
11:12It's almost miraculous how far ahead of schedule she is.
11:20This matchup was almost the student versus the teacher.
11:30While both Sabu and Rob Van Dam were trained by Sabu's uncle,
11:36the original Sheik, Sabu was also in many ways a mentor to Rob Van Dam.
11:50They have been the best of friends. They have been the worst of enemies.
11:53They have been ECW World Tag Team Champions.
11:57He is not a title. He is not a title. This is Sabu!
12:05This one-on-one matchup for the ECW World Television title meant so much to both Sabu and Rob Van Dam.
12:13Here's the current ECW World Television Champion.
12:21Here is Mr. Pay-Per-View, Rob Van Dam!
12:33The manager of Champions, Bill Alfonso, found himself caught in the middle.
12:38Still straddling the fence between Rob Van Dam and Sabu.
12:42And good is taught.
12:44RVD! RVD! RVD! RVD!
12:50As is the case in every building, you see a live ECW event.
12:56A chant of RVD rings out. Whether he's there or not, it happens now.
13:03And Rob Van Dam, of course, not wrestling right now.
13:07He's got a broken leg. He will be out for 12 weeks.
13:10Everywhere we go, chants of RVD still ring out at live ECW events.
13:17Sabu and Van Dam trading right hands. Van Dam with a front kick.
13:23Sabu's up the ride. One-legged drop down.
13:28Van Dam!
13:30Rob Van Dam!
13:32Dropped both legs across. Sabu's just in face.
13:36Takes time to look to the crowd.
13:38And Sabu drops him to the right and he sends him to the outside.
13:45But a great punches and fall.
13:51Sabu with the chair in the face of Rob Van Dam.
13:59RVD! RVD! RVD! RVD!
14:04Van Dam very public in interviews, thanks.
14:07At this point right now in his career, best pivot meeting Harry Rob Van.
14:14Holding the World Television title belt.
14:16ECW! ECW! ECW!
14:19And of course, as expected, Sabu took over into those remarks.
14:24And a lot of intrigue. A lot of drama in this matchup.
14:28The guiltiest charge.
14:30Not just about the World Television title.
14:32I had a regret to count.
14:34Not just about the World Television title.
14:36A very personal issue between Sabu and Rob Van Dam.
14:44Referee Giants gave him more fault for the break and got it.
14:47Rob Van Dam was clutching the bottom rope.
14:50Sabu with those great right hands.
14:52Always fine for Mark's straight right.
14:58Slingshot sidekick.
15:01Lateral press.
15:03Two count off.
15:09Sabu to the outside.
15:12Slingshot, somersault, leg drop.
15:14Van Dam spinning kick right in the mouth of Sabu.
15:19Positioned Sabu where he wants him.
15:23Cornwheel into a splash.
15:28Two count off.
15:32Bill Alfonso still straddling the fence.
15:35Counting in third place for both champion and challenger.
15:39Reversal at the corner.
15:43Sabu charges, takes the boot in the face.
15:45Van Dam up top in one moment.
15:49And a moment later, face first into the steel guardrail.
15:56Van Dam's gratitude pulls him up to the top of the fence.
16:00And he's got it.
16:01Steel guardrail.
16:05Van Dam's great agility.
16:07Pulls him up to the top turnbuckle in one swift movement.
16:10And doing so turns his back on Sabu.
16:13The veteran shoves Van Dam into the guardrail.
16:17Baseball slide.
16:23Van Dam now in the first row.
16:27Here's Sabu ready for takeoff.
16:32Sabu and Van Dam in the seat.
16:43With the thought of pulling the man to derail the RVD Express,
16:48I'm on pay-per-view.
16:51Sabu showing no caution, holding nothing back.
16:55And guilty as charged.
16:57At this point in the matchup,
17:02Sabu felt the important Van Dam down.
17:06Felt the momentum in his corner.
17:10And felt the time was right to put Rob Van Dam through a table and ringside.
17:17With the help of Bill Alfonso, the table being set up
17:23with a guardrail throw.
17:25A corner took too much time.
17:27And Rob Van Dam attacks a series of kicks.
17:33That one right in the throat.
17:35Van Dam pitching up Sabu.
17:38Rob Van Dam starting to burn on the steel guardrail.
17:43Up to the ring apron.
17:45Up to the ring apron.
17:51Hood screw, guillotine leg drop.
18:01Nancy Bill Alfonso physically, mentally, emotionally
18:06in between Sabu and Rob Van Dam.
18:16Alfonso at that point still working on that table.
18:26Van Dam with a baseball splat.
18:28That is the very move he executed on Rhino in Orlando.
18:32And that's a broken foot and leg.
18:39Unbelievable!
18:41Unfathomable!
18:43Inconceivable!
18:46Rob Van Dam at 240 pounds, full head of steel.
18:51This leap over that chair in the top rope.
18:56The somersault lunge.
18:59His athletic abilities defy the laws of physics.
19:04And not since Sabu burst on the scene at ECW back in 1993
19:10have wrestling fans around the world been in awe of any man
19:16as they are now of Rob Van Dam.
19:21Van Dam with a baseball splat in the outside.
19:24Right hand.
19:27Got caught shoulder blocking.
19:30Got caught shoulder blocking.
19:39The Arabian Powerbomb, but Sabu slipped it while Van Dam
19:43can't get it to the floor.
19:46Most of his 240 pounds came down on Sabu.
19:52Sabu at that point very lucky to tear a hamstring.
20:00You're running, baby.
20:03Van Dam brought into the steel guard rail.
20:07And now Van Dam being laid out on that table.
20:16Series of chops to the throat.
20:18Chains of Sabu's up to the original cheek.
20:22Sabu on top.
20:25Oh, my God!
20:35Yes, Rob Van Dam put it to the table.
20:37Yes, the table's cracked.
20:39But Sabu's cracking.
20:41Scurred him first.
20:43And to Rob Van Dam, the table.
20:45And the quartering guard rail underneath the table.
20:48Watch this. Watch it again.
20:50Watch how Sabu's legs are flowing as instant as fat.
20:56At that point in the match-up, while Van Dam wiped out Sabu,
20:59not going out of himself as well.
21:09Sabu back to the ring.
21:11Bill Alfonso shouting his words to Rob Van Dam.
21:21Come on! Come on!
21:26Rob Van Dam getting up very slowly.
21:28And who can blame him for wondering if he can get up at all at that point?
21:36Van Dam on spaghetti legs.
21:39Sabu's screaming for athletic tape.
21:41Gets it from Bill Alfonso.
21:43Taps it up for a great knee.
21:45That is Vincent Sabu.
21:47Van Dam in.
21:48Sabu for the lateral press. Gets a two-and-a-half.
21:50Sabu always looking for the pinfall.
21:52Drops the leg.
21:54Defies it for a few seconds.
21:56Continues to tape up that right knee.
22:04Lateral press once again.
22:06Makes a two-and-a-half.
22:10The chair split in by Bill Alfonso to Rob Van Dam.
22:19Gives the chair to Sabu.
22:26Van Dam at him.
22:28The chair is not.
22:32Sabu hobbles over to a lateral press.
22:35He reaches his two-and-a-half.
22:40The count of one.
22:41And famous by Sabu off of the original seat.
22:49Kiwi right in the face of Rob Van Dam.
22:51Asking him, do you want to give it up?
22:56Ask him, Sabu. Screaming, ask him.
22:58Then breaks the hold, realizing Van Dam will not give it up.
23:01Drops the leg and crosses back.
23:07Stomp to the back of the head.
23:09Sabu had injured his right knee in Chicago
23:12in a matchup against Van Dam.
23:15Leading into the Guilty as Charged pay-per-view.
23:19Running it out after taping up his own knee here at Guilty as Charged.
23:26Slingshot sidekick misses.
23:28Takes out John Tiwi Moore.
23:31Leg drop on Rob Van Dam.
23:39Triple jumpers all down across the face of Rob Van Dam.
23:45But Tiwi in no condition to make the count.
23:50Only going to play at this point in the matchup.
23:52Sabu may have been able to pin Rob Van Dam.
24:00Sabu going for it again.
24:03This time, triple jump leg drop.
24:05Again, down across the face of Rob Van Dam.
24:14Lateral press.
24:18Notice Van Dam, after taking a leg drop,
24:20wisely rolled towards the ropes.
24:22But Sabu, also very cagey, always goes where he is.
24:26When covering Van Dam, changed position
24:28to make sure both his body was in between Van Dam and the ropes.
24:32Nevertheless, Van Dam kicked out at two and a half again.
24:38Two very intelligent wrestlers
24:40who had each other very well scouted
24:42going into this pay-per-view matchup.
24:46Kick to the face by Sabu.
24:54And Sabu ascending the turnbuckle steel chair again.
24:58Took too much time, John.

25:03Van Dam!
25:07Sabu face down on the acclaimed hardcore revolution logo.
25:12By the way, that game is available nationally right now.
25:16A little after sneaking a plug in.
25:21Sabu busted open, took the chair right in the eye.
25:24Lateral press.
25:26Two count only.
25:34Van Dam going back to the chair.
25:39Hits the Van Daminator!
25:50At that point, Van Dam felt he had the matchup won.
25:53Sabu was down, already busted open from the Van Daminator.
25:57But Van Dam took too much time ascending the turnbuckle
26:00and got caught by Sabu.
26:04Sabu going up.
26:08Went for the top turnbuckle, hit it, caught Rob Van Dam.
26:11Held on, Van Dam up top!
26:14With Nathan Moonsault!
26:17What an athleticism by Rob Van Dam!
26:23That was as close as it gets.
26:27Only two since Kiwi.
26:34The fans rallying behind Rob Van Dam at this point.
26:38Phil Alfonso in the ring with the steel chair.
26:42Again in between Rob Van Dam and Sabu.
26:46Perhaps decision time for Phil Alfonso.
26:50Both Sabu and Van Dam want the steel chair.
26:55Van Dam didn't want to wait for Alfonso's decision.
26:57Van Daminator on Phil Alfonso.
27:00On Phil Alfonso, Sabu with the clothesline.

28:07Sabu hit Rob Van Dam with everything he had,
28:11but in the end, Rob Van Dam,
28:14the longest reigning champion in professional wrestling,
28:20was the better man.
28:22And still ECW World Television Champion.
28:44You can see the physical toll this matchup took on Rob Van Dam.

29:23Very tense moment.
29:25Sabu and Rob Van Dam face to face in the center of the ring.

36:32Tanaka up and over the guardrail into the first row.
36:39And here comes Lawson.
36:45300 pounds and he sails through the air like a cruiserweight, Joel.
36:51They don't call him Mike Pretty Good.
36:53They don't call him Mike.
36:55He's okay.
36:57They call him Mike Awesome for a reason.
37:01Because as Lord Byron would say, he's big, he's bad, and he's dangerous to know.
37:09You've probably never read Byron.
37:10I'll loan you the clip notes.
37:13And no one knows Mike Awesome better than Masato Tanaka.
37:20Well, his mother probably knows him better, but he'd never hit her like that with a chair.
37:26Tanaka's still up.
37:38Tanaka's incredible, he fires back.
37:42He's up.
37:44I can't believe he's up.
37:48I can't believe he's conscious.
37:51And kicking out.
37:55Awesome with only a two count after planting Tanaka with a sit-out powerbomb.
38:04Running clothesline almost decapitates the challenger.
38:11And Mike Awesome wants a table.
38:19As we have seen in the past, this does not bode well for Masato Tanaka.
38:25Mike Awesome having to deviate from his game plan.
38:29This should be Judge Jeff Jones setting up the table.
38:33No question without the judge here.
38:35Mike Awesome having to play with the table himself.
38:38Gives Tanaka the time to recuperate with another clothesline.
38:42Lures the challenger.
38:47He's gonna Awesome Bomb Tanaka through the table on the outside.
38:50That'll be all.
38:51Tanaka escapes.
38:52Awesome takes an elbow in the jump.
38:57Leaping clothesline.
39:00And now we've got both champion and challenger on the apron.
39:05Tanaka's going for the table.
39:10No he's not.
39:11Lands on his feet again.
39:13Tanaka back to the apron.
39:19Oh my God.
39:20Oh my God.
39:25Swinging DDT through the table all the way to the floor.
39:32The question I get asked most.
39:33Why do you do it Tommy?
39:35Why do you continuously step into the ring with two herniated discs in your back?
39:39A condition that's never gonna get better.
39:42I do it because people tell me they respect me.
39:45I do it because people tell me they admire me.
39:47I do it because people tell me I'm a man who fights for what he believes in.
39:51I could sum it up in two words why I do it.
39:55When people come up to me and say thank you.
39:58So on behalf of myself and on behalf of Rob Van Dam.
40:02I want to thank the nearly 3,000 people that came out this past Tuesday for ECW's Hardcore Revolution premiere.
40:10I want to thank the people who showed up at 4 o'clock in the morning and waited online.
40:14I want to thank the kids who got busted by the truant officer, sent back to Jersey and came back so me and Rob Van Dam could sign their truant slips.
40:23I want to thank each and every person who waited in the cold and just wanted a chance, a picture, anything just to express their opinion.
40:31Think about it.
40:33Think about in one moment of time we took over a city street.
40:38Think about the beautiful day when we're all band together.
40:42And we take over the world.
40:45On behalf of myself and Rob I want to thank everyone for sticking by us when we were down.
40:52I want to thank everyone for supporting us even when we make wrong decisions.
40:57I want to thank everybody for never changing their opinions and being sick hardcore freaks.
41:04And most of all I want to thank every single person for being extreme.
41:09Extreme.
41:39Vega gets the boots up and drives that chair into the face of Mike Awesome.
41:46Just like that the momentum has shifted once again.
41:57And there's the tornado DDT on the chair.
42:02That was three, that was three.
42:04That was two and seven eighths.
42:05Two and fifteen sixteenths maybe.
42:07That was not three.
42:08Mike Keener's hand never hit the mat.
42:11Well I think his fingers did brush the mat.
42:13And whether your fingers brush or your palm slaps the canvas legally that's a three count.
42:19That was a judgment call by referee Mike Keener.
42:22But I think his hand hit.
42:24I think this matchup should be over and Tanaka should be champion again.
42:28I think Mike Awesome has enough to worry about with his manager being hurt.
42:33And then you Joey Styles as a broadcaster trying to tell him, trying to tell Mike Keener how many times his hand hit the mat.
42:41How dare you.
42:43Roaring Elbow Duck.
42:48Sit out Awesome Bomb.
42:53See that's a two count.
42:55Keener's hand did not, it didn't strike the canvas.
42:59But before on the Tornado DDT on the chair, I believe his fingers came down and touched the canvas.
43:06You're not even great as a commentator.
43:08What would make you think you'd be good as a referee?
43:10You're telling him how many times his hand hit the canvas?
43:13Mike Awesome is up top.
43:15The matchup goes on regardless.
43:20Awesome Splash.
43:24Tanaka kicks out of the Awesome Splash.
43:27And Mike Awesome is frustrated.
43:29Of course he has to take on an obvious emissary of Rob Van Dam sent here.
43:35Probably by you.
43:36Who knows?
43:37Why aren't you on Mike Awesome's side?
43:40I'm just cold the way I see it.
43:42I think there was a three count in this matchup.
43:44What is your problem?
43:47Awesome now slides the table into the ring.
43:52Tanaka just barely kicked out of the Awesome Splash.
43:56Awesome senses that now is the time to go for the kill.
44:00To finish off Masato Tanaka.
44:03To turn back the challenge here in Tallahassee.
44:11He's looking for another Awesome Bomb.
44:13This time through the table.
44:20Tanaka escapes.
44:22And hits the Roaring Elbow.
44:25Awesome!
44:30Awesome is face down on the table.
44:32Tanaka is going to break his neck.
44:37Awesome now coming after Tanaka.
44:41Awesome is climbing the turnbuckle.
44:45Awesome's up top.
44:47He's cinching up Tanaka.
44:48Tanaka!
44:53Sit out Awesome Bomb through the table.
45:01But can Awesome make the cover?
45:04He's got the hands on Tanaka's chin.
45:08The one and the most and still
45:11ECW World Heavyweight Champion
45:15Mike Awesome!
45:18Rob Van Dam out 12 weeks.
45:20Jerry Lynn also down.
45:22Dusty Rhodes sent to the hospital.
45:25Francine sent to the hospital.
45:27Raven sent to the hospital.
45:29This is the time that a promotion like WCW
45:32would crawl into the corner
45:34and make me weep and cry all about it.
45:38And in the name of Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn
45:42and everybody else that went to the hospital
45:44I assure you the revolution has just begun.
