00:00We heard from Donald Trump there basically saying why Putin didn't go, it's because he didn't go.
00:05But now we've also seen that the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has confirmed there will be no breakthrough in these talks until Trump and Putin actually meet.
00:16So what do you make of all of this?
00:17So I think the West wanted it to be so true that Putin would be in attendance, and I think Zelensky almost expected this as well.
00:25But this now completely undercuts Ankara's efforts to try and find some meaningful peace negotiations.
00:31But Putin very much is keeping the West guessing when it comes to holding onto the cards and saying, right, I will come to the table when I am ready.
00:40And that is very much what we saw today.
00:42The Zelensky challenge completely backfired on Vladimir Zelensky's face when he seems that he's been referred to as a clown by the Kremlin,
00:49saying that they've used this to mock him and say that the legitimacy of his position in Ukraine is in fact lessened by all of this.
00:57So it seems that until Trump and Putin now sit down together, there can be no meaningful discussion and there will be none.
01:03And I think we deluded to that somewhat when we spoke on Monday about this, that we didn't think Putin would be there.
01:08And his even sending a very junior Russian delegation hints that Moscow really did not expect this to progress.
01:15They didn't actually want it to progress.
