00:00Now Manchester City's massive trophy haul over recent years and the struggles that Manchester United have faced
00:05may very well have captured the attention of the national and international news
00:09but here on a local level in Greater Manchester there's one club that we want to talk about
00:14because they're set to achieve something massive, that is if they win today against Leighton Orient
00:19I'm talking about Stockport County who are going for back-to-back promotions
00:23have been promoted to League One this time last year after a massively successful League Two campaign
00:29now this year in League One they've been incredible, finishing third just behind the money-laden Wrexham
00:35they need a win here today to progress to Wembley, whether they'll face off against one of Charlton or Wickham
00:40but this could be a massive historic day for a club who only six years ago were playing Nuneaton in non-league
00:47I spoke to some of the fans before the game and here's what they had to say
00:50We're nervous if we're not a goal down at half-time we'll win because we just always give everybody a start
00:56All the officials do. Cartway, 3-0 is my prediction, it's going to be great
01:00To go up again would be amazing, especially back-to-back
01:04To do it the hard way, should we say
01:08It's probably the true reflection of County and the spirit that the team chose to get up
01:14It's not so much whether we're good enough to beat Latin Orient, it's whether we're good enough to go up and stay up
01:21If we don't go up
01:23You know, that's sort of...
01:25That's a bit frightening isn't it?
01:26I think we're very much on a part with Orient and Charlton and Wickham
01:30We've supported the team for god knows how many years, I've been coming for 50 odd years
01:36So we've been down and we've been up
01:40You should be asking this question to my daughter who
01:44During the National League North days went to towns which bribed cartographers to get on a map
01:49I mean, so this would be quite something to be playing the really big teams
01:53I'm not nervous as a trip to Wembley, we've been before
01:552008 against Rochdale
01:57It was there, that was a great game
02:00So yeah, I think we're here
02:02We get to Wembley, we've definitely got one
02:05I just personally hope it's not penalties tonight
02:08Yeah
02:08Not good for anyone is it?
02:10No, no
02:10No good, we've been speaking to lots of Orient supporters
02:14Really lovely people
02:15Yes
02:16And they're very much a similar mindset as us
02:20Yes
02:20So yeah, hopefully everything goes well
02:24And we come out of here with smiles on our faces
02:26It's anybody's game
02:28So they have massive excitement before a massive game
02:31And regardless of the result tonight
02:33It's shown that Stockport really is a club on the rise
02:36And the fans are absolutely behind the direction of the club
02:39And manager Dave Challoner too
02:41Whether they're battling out at Wembley this time in a couple of weeks
02:44Or whether they're settling down ready for another till at League One
02:48They know this season has been a success
02:49They know the last few years have been a success
02:51And they really have been one of the best stories in Greater Manchester this year
02:56So thank you very much for watching
02:57This has been Manchester World
02:58We'll see you again soon
