00:15everywhere they go but girls like Kelsey can definitely get caught up in this lifestyle one
00:22of those things that he would do is to find women that were good-looking and befriend them she had
00:27a feeling that something was wrong and she had been calling law enforcement what it looks like
00:32here is someone committed a violent crime and they're now fleeing the scene you just didn't
00:39really know at the time was she a suspect or was she the victim at one point he threatens to eat
00:47the male detective soul just because there's one victim doesn't mean there's not another
00:57on March 3rd 2019 officers show up to a house in suburban Nevada there was communication with Las
01:18Vegas Metro Police with a woman in California in regards to welfare checks of the home
01:23they're checking on a home where 25 year old model Kelsey Turner is staying
01:34but nobody answers the door
01:39and they notice that the mail is piling up there's a package on the door
01:42no one's at home but lights are still on officers saw that the windows were open and that there
01:55were signs of the struggle so because one of the doors is unlocked they go inside and there's just
02:03cleaning supplies all over the garage it smells really strongly of ammonia in there when the
02:11investigators began the actual search of the residents they found signs of violence including a door that was
02:21actually broken down they found blood spatters and smears on the door
02:27they made it a crime scene and Kelsey Turner is missing
02:36Kelsey Turner is a stunning blonde who appeared on the Playboy Italia website on May 10th 2017
02:45Kelsey looked like a playboy bunny she looked like what you would think of as like the typical
02:51playmate with the long platinum blonde hair and the voluptuous body
02:54Kelsey Turner was originally from Jonesboro Arkansas she went to Arkansas State University and she majored
03:05in sports medicine and exercise she also had experience doing freelance modeling a lot of swimsuit modeling
03:13she moved to California in 2014 to pursue a modeling career I met Kelsey through mutual friends just out at one of my shows in LA
03:26I run a lot of events seven nights a week she would always hit me up and I would set up a whole night full of
03:37activities for you know her and her girlfriends she would get her group of girls together and I would host them for the
03:43night and make sure that they all get taken care of in the club

03:53Kelsey was going for a very specific vibe she's always glammed up she was trying to show this persona of somebody that is fun and living this party girl lifestyle
04:04Kelsey was the premier party girl for our scene and for what they expect us to have out at the clubs for you
04:15know for the shows you know you're blonde haired light eyes one-piece dress short skirt high heels you
04:23know skinny model chicks that's that's really what they like to see at the club you know it's like the
04:32Hollywood night like she Kelsey had done lots of modeling work but she was finally starting to
04:37break through from early on Kelsey is posing in lingerie and swimsuit she even does a couple of
04:44low-budget films she's really trying to pursue this modeling thing full-time so Kelsey was getting regular
04:55modeling work not just online but she was also a published model she'd been in Maxim and several other
05:00different publications but it was Kelsey's dream to be a Playboy centerfold when you can attach the
05:06Playboy name to yourself that could have been a big door opening for Kelsey because so many people would
05:11have seen her photos and she was on the right track to that so Kelsey is this aspirational model
05:19she's trying to get more lingerie and swimsuit work and in May of 2017 her dreams come true when
05:25she's chosen to appear in Playboy Italia playboy was a huge brand with so many international editions
05:36and one of the most recognizable brand names in the world posing for a foreign edition of Playboy
05:42could definitely get you in the door to becoming a centerfold this was a big break for Kelsey being
05:49featured on Playboy Italia is a little bit like being featured as say a Playboy cyber girl here in the
05:54States you're on the website you're photographed beautifully you're portrayed as like this
06:00beautiful sexy woman Kelsey is quoted in Playboy Italia saying I love thrills and fun I'm living my life
06:10fully aware that I only have one she was doing everything right she was on the right track Playboy Italia
06:20could have been a big door opening for her because so many people would have seen her photos
06:24in December of 2018 Kelsey moves to Vegas from California she moved to Las Vegas to pursue her dreams
06:35further her modeling career but she also began working for a party promoter Playboy was the perfect
06:45brand brand for Las Vegas in many ways just because you know it's Sin City everybody wants to party here
06:50you know you think sexy when you think of Las Vegas it's definitely a place where Kelsey could come and
06:57possibly make some inroads into the Playboy world Kelsey moves into this house in December of 2018 living
07:05with Diana Pena and Diana cleans in exchange for a free run Diana Pena worked as a bartender in a
07:13casino and then in February Kelsey ends up dating John Kennison and John moves in pretty immediately so
07:21all three of them are living in the upstairs floors of this house together Kelsey was a party promoter she
07:29would try and bring people in and bring business into hotel casinos and nightclubs she starts spending
07:36nights at some of the city's hottest clubs hanging out with some of the most exclusive guests she was deep
07:43into the lifestyle where you're hustling 24-7 and just always putting forward this image of yourself
07:48she would often be hired as a model to host different events whether it be nightclub events
07:54charity events and she would be considered the feature draw like it would be her photo on the flyer
07:59and being considered a Playboy model that was the draw that was why people would hire her thinking
08:04it would bring people to the nightclub
08:05the girls that I have had relations with that work at Playboy love being a part of that community they like the limelight they like the attention and they're catered to everywhere they go so it's like what's not to like about it
08:21anything you can imagine anywhere else multiply it by like a hundred there's Vegas people who go to
08:29Vegas it's another level it's like that emoji with the brain exploding that's that's Vegas
08:33there is a lot of violent crime here in Las Vegas of the whole gamut murder sexual assault armed robbery
08:49aggravated assault you know batteries with weapons playboy in Las Vegas definitely have that in
08:56common where there's a lot of glamour on the outside girls like Kelsey can definitely get caught up in this
09:02lifestyle but there can also be a lot of dark secrets 9-1-1 operator what's your emergency it was 9 30 a.m. on
09:19March 7th is when the 9-1-1 call came in somebody who was out driving near the Lake Mead National Recreation Center had seen this car on the side of the road with a busted window and they thought it was suspicious
09:34it's this blue car in the middle of the desert and if you've ever driven down a desert highway you know that
09:41you don't see things for miles and miles so the fact that this car was just sitting there sort of
09:46on the side of the road was really peculiar once police get there they try to open the door and they
09:56just notice the smell from it there's latex gloves in the front seat and there's blood all over the backseat of the car
10:04they look in the vehicle they check the trunk and when they check the trunk they made a very very grim discovery
10:13in the trunk they find blue and white striped towels
10:17and a human body
10:31so when officers arrived in the scene the first thing they noticed about this car was the windows
10:36lowered down which is not normal for anyone leaving a vehicle even by the side of the road if you were hiking
10:42they then notice blood on the seats so the officers definitely felt that something was unusual and
10:51suspicious as they're doing some searching in the vehicle they open up the trunk and inside the trunk
10:58they find some different items where it looked like clothing they actually didn't see the body at first it
11:04took a little bit to go through some of the clothes to actually uncover that there is a body inside the
11:10trunk if there's no identification on that body we tried to check on the registered owner that is
11:16somebody that they have to look at as a person of interest in the homicide investigation because what
11:23is this dead body doing in this car at that time when they run the license plate it does come back to a
11:32person out of San Francisco when police contacted the registered owner he explained that he had
11:40actually sold the car to a buyer that he had met on Craigslist
11:46Kelsey Turner
11:48this guy said that he had made an arrangement with Kelsey whereas Kelsey was going to make monthly payments
11:56on the car until they could transfer the car to her name
11:59so technically he was listed as the owner but the real occupant or the real everyday user of that car
12:08was Kelsey Turner I think it was definitely a little bit suspicious but registered owner was in China at the
12:20time of the murder and he did have paperwork to show that he was actually like subleasing that car
12:26to a Kelsey Turner so that cleared him of being involved in the murder
12:31when the coroner started the investigation and looking at the body they noticed a blunt trauma to
12:40the head there defensive wounds on the arms and the teeth were knocked out as well despite the brutal
12:49injuries investigators are eventually able to identify the victim because multiple credit cards were found
12:55at the crime scene police are able to identify the victim as 71 year old Dr. Thomas Burchard he's a child
13:05psychiatrist based in Salinas California visiting Las Vegas Dr. Burchard works at some of the country's most
13:15prestigious hospitals he works at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Mass General UCLA eventually he goes on to
13:22work at the community hospital of the Monterey Peninsula in California he's very popular at his work they even
13:30give him the nickname Santa because he looks like Santa Claus once the victim was identified the detectives were
13:49quick to learn that for three solid days the police had been trying to locate Dr. Broussard and determine about his well-being
13:58Dr. Broussard came to Vegas on March 1st of 2019 and March 2nd was the last day that his partner Judy had received a text message
14:11from him and it says something along the lines of I'm excited to come home but at a certain point Thomas's phone
14:18is completely turned off and she calls him and other people had tried calling but he's just not answering
14:25she had a feeling that something was wrong and she had been calling law enforcement to try to figure
14:31out why he wasn't answering his phone Judy mentions to police that she thinks he might have been with a
14:37woman named Kelsey Turner we don't know exactly how Dr. Broussard met Kelsey but at one point in California
14:46they were living in the same small town as detectives were conducting their investigation information from
14:53Judy led them to believe that Thomas Broussard he would find women that were good-looking women
14:57and try to befriend them Dr. Broussard was particularly known for helping young women who were hard on their
15:04times he would kind of come in and be their savior as it were he liked to help he kind of liked the hero
15:12complex Judy would say later on Judy thought of Dr. Broussard's relationship to these women almost like
15:18charity like he was trying to help women who needed assistance whether it was a case of love or
15:26relationships or just a friendship information from Judy led to believe that he was giving money to Kelsey
15:32Kelsey's been featured in different magazines she's very active on Instagram as a swimsuit model and she
15:43has developed into that persona but she also struggling to pay her bills in California Thomas
15:50had been paying for Kelsey's rent and he had been paying her bills their relationship worked out well
15:58because Kelsey was living with her mother in California who were recently lost her job Dr. Broussard
16:04was financially supporting Kelsey and her family he would pay for her and her mother's expenses their rent
16:10Kelsey's car and pretty much anything they needed he had been subsidizing her lifestyle for a long time
16:18Judy told the police that Thomas had already spent over $300,000 on Kelsey Turner
16:29after Kelsey moved to Las Vegas Dr. Broussard kept paying her rent and was sending her money weekly
16:35he doesn't want her out on the street or having a hard time that seems like a really generous thing
16:41for Dr. Broussard to do but things like that can get complicated sometimes in relationships like that
16:47there's all kinds of expectations on either side that go unspoken which can lead to all kinds of
16:54disagreements and conflict further down the road
16:56Judy was pretty forthcoming but she never really elaborated what the nature of the relationships
17:05were if I had a guess I'd say there was something that happened of a sexual nature it could also just
17:14be sexual innuendo that Kelsey had presented and maybe possibly you know led him to believe and Judy
17:23felt endangered by the relationship and Judy definitely was nervous upset and maybe somewhat
17:31jealous of the situation especially a much younger woman who's a model a very attractive there was a
17:40moment where Judy was very clear she gave a bottom line she wanted Thomas to stop supporting Kelsey
17:48even if this was a transactional relationship that doesn't mean that he didn't necessarily care
17:53for Kelsey or want to make sure she was okay those things aren't mutually exclusive
17:58so Dr. Broussard traveled to Las Vegas to try to see how Kelsey was spending his money what the
18:09situation was to see if she was telling the truth about how she was living and what she was using it for
18:14and to potentially stop funding her lifestyle so as the investigation continued police realized that
18:21there were several calls that came in for welfare checks to check on Thomas Broussard and they're able
18:28to trace his location to the residence where Kelsey and her roommates lived his phone revealed that he was
18:35there on March 1st and March 2nd but after that on March 3rd his phone is turned off and no location
18:43can be found police do welfare checks on March 3rd 4th and 5th at Kelsey's house this was a house where
18:53there was always somebody at home but it looked like this house had been vacated and then everyone had
19:01mysteriously vanished on March 8th police eventually are able to get a search warrant for Kelsey's home
19:19neighbors feel something's wrong and they're also suspicious for the fact that it's been several days
19:25days and there's no major activity at the home even with getting information from Judy doesn't mean
19:33that Kelsey herself could not be a danger in the middle of the floor investigators find two piles of
19:44laundry and the towels in one of those piles of laundry matches the ones that were found with Dr.
19:49Richard's body in the trunk of the car they immediately noticed these towels have blood
19:56stains also there were various fingerprints that were located in the car so of course privacy lab will
20:08actually take all those fingerprints to identify who the fingerprints were and they find record of
20:16Kelsey's roommate Diana's fingerprints in the car and her boyfriend John's fingerprints are in there as
20:22well in Las Vegas it's very common to be fingerprinted for many different jobs Diana Pena worked at a local
20:32casino so her fingerprints were on file because she would have had to get that done to work at the
20:36casino John Kennison had a few drug offenses on his record and he had been fingerprinted at his last arrest
20:41at this point investigators can't be sure if Kelsey's a victim they can't be sure if any of the other
20:51roommates are a victim they have two crime scenes and everyone is missing there was no major reason to clean up
21:03they weren't vacating the house so some type of altercation and clean up took place that's why
21:12the cleanup material is definitely very suspicious to Las Vegas Metro Police
21:16so detectives interviewed the landlord of the property and the landlord explained to them that Dr.
21:31Bassard was actually the one who paid the rent on the residence even though Kelsey Turner was the
21:38occupant of the residence and the lease was actually going to expire later on in the year during 2019
21:47what it looks like is someone committed a violent crime probably the murder of Thomas
21:59Burchard and they're now fleeing the scene but just because there's one victim doesn't mean there's not
22:06another when they were conducting the search warrant they also did attempt to trace and tap the phone
22:14that Kelsey had to find out the areas that she was at over the last few days and where possibly she was
22:20the investigators looked deeply into Kelsey Turner's phone records they found that she had utilized the
22:31phone as she was in the area of the home from the first to the fifth but after the six
22:38there was nothing on March 7th the records show that Kelsey's phone's been turned off
22:50which definitely seems suspicious we just didn't really know at the time was she a suspect or was
23:01she was a victim and kidnapped you just don't want to say oh I think Kelsey murdered somebody just
23:08because a family member or friend or a partner of Thomas's says he's in danger however as Judy began to
23:16encourage him to pull back Kelsey began threatening to call professional associations threatening to report
23:24Thomas Thomas for unsavory behavior and so as that began to happen he was scared so Thomas kept on
23:32supporting Kelsey against Judy's advice so they were going to be checking the records of the doctor's phone
23:40as well and there were calls made and the phone had been utilized up until March 3rd and then after March 3rd
23:51there was nothing the last time Judy heard from Thomas Burchard was when they exchanged texts and
23:58when he expressed that he was excited to finish his business and come home but here's where it gets
24:06really interesting Dr. Boussard's phone was actually in the possession of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police
24:14Department the phone had been impounded prior to this on March 6th one of Thomas's friends is trying
24:26to reach Thomas and he calls him and this guy named Johnny picks up so the friend states Johnny please take
24:34that phone and bring it to the police station which to me I am shocked that this guy actually gives it to
24:40the police officers to impound whether it was for safekeeping at the time or for investigative
24:46purposes so the police have the phone now on March 12th so this is after Thomas's body has already been
24:54found detectives track down Johnny and they go and meet with him it's a male detective and a female
25:01detective so this man said that he just found the phone lying around and suddenly Johnny he actually
25:12confesses to involvement in Dr. Boussard's murder Johnny turns out to be a transient guy around town
25:29the Las Vegas Metro Police detectives locate Johnny who found the phone that was either lost or thrown
25:37out a window or who knows what well look detectives if they immediately find a man who's in possession
25:43of a phone of a victim and he confesses they probably thought he was involved and detectives have
25:53a really combative interview with him he's yelling at them he was not being friendly in general which led
26:02the police to believe that maybe he had information at one point Johnny threatens to eat the male detective
26:09soul and then he tries to attack a female detective he had some mental issues and emotional issues that
26:18caused him to want to say talk about his involvement when it actually didn't happen after taking some
26:31time to observe him and question him they realized that he was a false confessor they're able to determine
26:37that he had nothing to do with this crime and that he was very unstable unfortunately but it was this phone
26:46that gave them new evidence to be able to trace Dr. Boussard's steps to be able to trace his last known
26:53movement they're also able to look at Thomas Boussard's cell phone records and they're able to trace his
27:02location to the residence where Kelsey and her roommates lived his phone revealed that he was there on March 1st and
27:09March 2nd after that on March 3rd his phone is turned off and his whereabouts are unknown so with
27:16all this evidence piling up it's been nearly a week since Thomas's body has been found the police don't
27:22know where Kelsey is but they're actively looking for her at this point in time has she been kidnapped is
27:30she in danger or was she involved in the murder of Thomas Boussard on the 21st of March the case took a
27:42very interesting turn the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas security contacted the Metro Police to let them know
27:52that they had some personal items that they believe that the police might have an interest in most
28:01security works well with the local police department in Las Vegas they're always type of conversation and
28:09they're always sharing information and with casinos out here it's pretty common that people leave stuff in your room so the Rio had
28:17collected these bags of articles and items from somebody who had stayed at the hotel and just abandoned
28:25from the Rio's lost and found police find medication bottles belonging to Diana Pena they find some
28:32documents they find this little black book with Thomas's handwriting in it that has his bank account
28:37information and they also find Kelsey Turner's driver's license
28:42there's just so much evidence in regards to the situation in the car and fingerprints and blood at
28:52different locations in the home Judy had the bad feeling about Kelsey Turner and she had asked Dr.
29:01Burchard to end that relationship and to stop sending her money Judy tells investigators that Kelsey
29:09had been extorting Dr. Burchard that she had threatened to spread rumors that could end his career and
29:16that she was taking advantage of Dr. Burchard's kindness and generosity Judy was growing more and
29:24more concerned about Dr. Burchard she saw his mental health declining he had signs of possible early
29:30dementia and she really felt that he was being taken advantage of by Kelsey she wanted him to cut Kelsey off
29:38she felt that Kelsey was trying to take him for every penny he had but there was no way Kelsey was
29:44letting this go with all of the evidence that had mounted up that Kelsey Turner was involved in this crime
29:58and this became critical information investigators know they have one victim and Kelsey Turner has disappeared
30:08at this point so on the 21st of March the Metropolitan Police actually submitted for an arrest warrant for Kelsey Turner
30:19there are so many questions why were they on the run if there's no wrongdoing here why would you keep
30:29trying to escape it's been radio silence nobody knows what happened to Kelsey no one knows where she is
30:36the Metropolitan Police Department detectives went to a judge and had arrest warrants issued for conspiracy to
30:52commit murder for Diana Pena and Kelsey Turner's boyfriend John Kennison
30:58on April 12th Diana Pena gets with her criminal defense attorney and she turns herself in
31:08she immediately tells police it was Kelsey and Kelsey's boyfriend John who were responsible for Dr. Burchard's murder
31:18Diana is employed at a local casino
31:26on March 3rd the doctor and Kelsey had arrived to pick her up so Kelsey has Dr. Burchard's phone in her hand
31:38she's looking at the GPS to try to figure out their way back home Diana says that as they're driving
31:44Kelsey is looking through Thomas's phone she starts to get angry and then it starts to get pretty heated
31:52in the car and they're like yelling at each other the argument became actually physical between Turner
31:59and the doctor to the point where Diana had to intervene and try and calm this situation down and take
32:06control of it so that they could get home Diana was saying that they were pornographic photos on Thomas's phone
32:14this sends Kelsey reeling she's extremely upset Kelsey Turner somehow discovered that there were
32:23lewd photographs and sexually explicit text messages between the doctor and Kelsey's mother
32:33Thomas knew Kelsey's mother because the previous apartment he had rented for Kelsey in Salinas
32:47California she resided there with her mother but Kelsey didn't see this as a good reason for the two to be
32:52exchanging messages so they get back to the house and Kelsey keeps getting madder and madder and at this
32:58point Dr. Burchard keeps telling her that she needs to cool off and that they can keep talking about it
33:04once she's had a second to sort of gather herself but Kelsey just keeps getting more and more angry
33:10Kelsey discovered that Dr. Burchard was exchanging explicit photos with her mother and she threatened
33:17to expose him if he didn't continue to bankroll her she's going to blackmail him and try to get him fired
33:24from his job or even worse by accusing him of some sort of wrongdoing I think Kelsey thought she was
33:31onto a good thing and was going to hang on to it any way she could the argument continues and Kelsey is
33:38haranguing the doctor and the doctor is saying I don't want any part of this anymore and Kelsey Turner
33:45tells him to go upstairs while she calms down but she continues to go up there where the doctor is to
33:54attack him verbally and this continues to escalate into even more arguing so Kelsey during this heated
34:03argument basically extorts him to give her his bank account information so that she can get money from
34:12him as a way of payment for not making a report to the authorities and this infuriates thomas who then
34:21goes into the room and slams the door behind him
34:27at this point kelsey's boyfriend john starts to get involved in the arguments
34:33diana tells police that john runs upstairs where thomas had closed the door and tried to lock himself in
34:39this room and diana says that john is armed to the baseball bat and is trying to break down the door
34:50diana sees john go into the room with the baseball bat diana says that at that point dr brachard was
34:56clearly injured his eyes sort of black and blue there is a large bruise on dr brachard's head and that he's
35:06clearly disoriented so he starts to say that like i need to go to the hospital
35:16diana told investigators at this point that everybody agreed they were going to go to the
35:20hospital so dr brachard gets into the car he's still bleeding at this point he's saying he wants to go to
35:27the hospital but he's telling kelsey and diana and john like look i can say that i was mugged
35:34it's like that you guys don't get in trouble i can just say that i was mugged it's fine so diana
35:40at this point is thinking that she's going to drive him to the hospital kelsey and john end up going
35:44back inside the house as kelsey and john are inside the house diana says that she's talking to thomas
35:51at that time thomas tells diana look i think that kelsey's going to kill me diana is scared
35:59because she doesn't know what's going to happen to her after she just witnessed a traumatic event
36:04of this person being severely hurt or even killed diana says at this point that kelsey tells her
36:12they need to clean up the house first because it's in such bad shape so diana goes back into the house
36:17and starts cleaning so diana was inside the house and she hears that the violence is continuing
36:28in the car so she goes down to try and quell that diana overhears kelsey say hey thomas is a
36:37bitch you need to knock him out diana tries to go back out to the garage to see what's happening
36:44kelsey meets her halfway and says it's too late john comes out of the garage there's blood all over
36:51his arms all over his hands there's some splattered on his face and then diana says
36:59you guys have just ruined our lives
37:09that night kelsey john and diana decided that they had to leave the residence
37:13so the three of them left and headed for the rio hotel where they spent the night
37:18at one point diana says john leaves and he says i need to go get rid of thomas's phone
37:23they end up staying at the rio for at least two days and it's at this point that they start to get
37:29notifications on their phone that the body has been found they're seeing news reports
37:34the next day tennyson and kelsey grabbed diana said we got to go right now we got to get out of this hotel
37:42they all just leave without taking any of their stuff and they get in a taxi and they go
37:50over the next few days they bounced around from small motels to friends houses and eventually a few
37:58days later kelsey got a ride out of town las vegas metro police received a tip stating that kelsey
38:06turner was in stockton california
38:12the fbi goes out to stockton and they locate kelsey turner and she was arrested for the murder
38:20of thomas bouchard a playboy model has been arrested in the case of a california psychiatrist
38:27who was murdered in las vegas earlier this month police arrested 25-year-old kelsey turner for the
38:32death of dr thomas bouchard when kelsey's brought in she points the finger at roommate diana pena
38:39and says that she and john had nothing to do with the murder of thomas bouchard kelsey claimed diana
38:47was just a snitch and that she had everything to gain and she was the one that committed this very violent crime
38:56because diana basically snapped when she learned that the doctor wasn't going to pay the rent anymore
39:04and that she couldn't deal with that and that was her motivation for killing the doctor
39:11so john's arrested in april and at this point all three of them were in custody john's attorneys argue
39:18that even though john was the one who might have wielded the baseball bat it was kelsey's cries of blood
39:25lust and her anger at thomas was the reason why he was killed
39:36after diana cooperated with the police she worked out a plea deal and the agreement was that she would
39:43plead guilty to accessory to murder and she would receive probation in june of 2022 kennison pled guilty
39:52to second degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder with a sentence of 18 years to 45 years in
40:00the state prison
