00:00Full-time in at Anfield, the penultimate home game of the season. 2-2 draw against Arsenal
00:07and ended. Liverpool Premier League champions are on 2-2 against the team who are likely
00:12to finish runners up for a fair successive campaign. Very much a game of two halves. Liverpool
00:18were excellent in the first half. Arsenal improved in the second period and then Liverpool
00:23were just denied a late winner. Liverpool came off the blocks really fast. Arsenal had
00:28the first jam tackle. Caio Saka, a free kick, he got his finish all wrong and skewed wide
00:35and Liverpool took authority and scored two goals in as many minutes. First it was Cody
00:40Gachpo, heading home from an Andy Robertson cross. And then a minute later, a sweeping
00:44Liverpool move was rounded off by Luis Diaz, prodding home after good work from Dominic
00:50Sabosley as cross comes shots and was finished off. Liverpool nearly had a fair, Curtis Jones
00:55produced a good save and they were probing Arsenal, you know, they were really testing
01:00them but they couldn't find another. And credits to Arsenal, they improved to the second half
01:05and Pearl lost their edge a little bit. Gabriel Martinelli headed home to reduce the deficit
01:10and Michael Moreno netted. Really good save from Alisson Becker from Martin Oudegaard's effort, tipped
01:19it onto the post but Moreno acted the quickest, reacted the quickest. But then Moreno was sent
01:26off with 11 minutes remaining for the second bookable offence and you thought they'd look
01:30to go on and win it here. They had the momentum but they just couldn't find a way through. Andy
01:35Robertson missing a glorious chance at the back post. Then Andy Robertson at the death, having
01:40a goal disallowed. Because from a corner, Ipheba-Canati was a judge to have filed Milder-Lewis-Skelly,
01:48a real needles file to be quite frank from Ipheba-Canati. But the talking point from today was the reaction
01:55that Trent Alexander-Arnold got, because earlier this week he confirmed that he won't be signing
01:59a new contract at Liverpool, he'll be leaving. When his deal runs out in June, expected to
02:05sign for Real Madrid on a free transfer. Nadar's rankled with large seconds of supporters and
02:11it was interesting to see how he was going to react to that in the slots in his pre-match
02:15press conference, confirmed that Conor Bradley would be starting. Bradley did okay, had
02:19some good moments, struggled a little bit in the second half. That was when Arsenal were
02:23getting on top. And then Trent Alexander-Arnold came on and he was met by booze from significant
02:30portions of the fan base. And when he was getting on the ball, he also was met by cheers. They
02:38continued, they dampened as he was touching the ball more and more. He had a free kick and
02:43he just flashed my eyes actually. And then the goal was going for the win and then they did
02:47pretty much well, the booze. But it was an interesting reaction, you've got to say, because
02:52you know, we're home crowds who are always behind the players. A lot of them have turned
02:59on Trent Alexander-Arnold and Arnaz has a privilege that if we're in Europe, we can react like that.
03:05He said maybe there was some clapping, maybe that was a bit of a possibility for Alexander-Arnold.
03:11He suggested that Alexander-Arnold will be in the squad for the game against Bristol Palace in two weeks when they're going to lift the trophy because he owns it to the club and the players and the staff to win football games.
03:26That's why he's got Trent Alexander-Arnold on the bench because he calls him a world-class player after it.
03:31But certainly the reaction was, they took me by surprise. I didn't think there'd be quite as many boos. I thought there would be boos.
03:39You know, I'm not saying that supporters, I don't think, are irked by it and angered by it, but I didn't think he'd make it so public.
03:51But clearly the frustrations have come out and a lot of them are better disappointed.
03:57It turns out to him and Arnold the man that he's gone in leading to doing a big European rival and a free transfer has irked a lot of them.
04:06It's rankled to have a lot of them, but that'll be the top point for the game to be fair.
04:11The best team in the Premier League, he's the second best team.
04:14But just after that time, the football was almost secondary, certainly from the reporting point of view.
04:24It was disappointing that Pills didn't get the win. It was probably the better side.
04:28He probably deserved it, but he didn't take enough in the first half, the chance in the first half.
04:33He allowed the daughter to open for Arsenal and the third place for Arsenal, they got back into it.
04:38But in two weeks' time here at Anfield, the Premier League trophy will be lifted.
04:46Fans will see the league title hoist a lot for the first time in 35 years.
04:51The first time the Premier League in person, the second time the Premier League they won since it was formed.
04:57So it will be a real momentous day, but it ends the Liverpool too for Arsenal too.
