Russian BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles have received major upgrades following increased losses caused by Ukrainian FPV (First Person View) kamikaze drones.

On the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, High-Precision Complexes, part of the state-owned Rostec, announced the delivery of a new batch of upgraded BMP-3 vehicles to the Russian army.

The upgrade is a direct response to the high number of BMPs destroyed by Ukrainian drones, especially FPV kamikaze types that have inflicted heavy damage on Russian forces since 2023.
