Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) assistant coach Simon Helmot is hoping for their team to make a turnaround in the second half of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). The Pat Cummins-led side is reeling at ninth spot with two wins from seven matches and will next take on Mumbai Indians in their home den.

00:00There's been a little bit of rains, but we know that the wickets here in Hyderabad are pretty good
00:07and it's conducive to high scoring, so I'm sure another great contest for our bowlers
00:15and also opportunities for our batters.
00:18Yeah, he's right to go at the moment, so we're looking forward to him obviously playing as best he possibly can.
00:25We saw him in the field last game, he was just absolutely amazing.
00:28So, yeah, we're looking forward to the Chiefs having a really positive and influential second half to our season.
00:37Yeah, look, they're a really good team, so we know we have to give them the utmost respect,
00:43but they're certainly beatable, as every team is, so as long as we follow our process as best we possibly can,
00:51follow our strategy, then things can work out for us.
00:56I just think, you know, we always look at trying to play smart cricket.
01:01We always look to be aware of the conditions and the opposition and try and match up as best we can
01:06or take on bowls we think we can take on at the time.
01:09So, look, we've seen two obviously outstanding performances with the bat.
01:13One or two others were probably just below what we'd expect.
01:17So, I just think as long as we stick to our plans, and our plans aren't reckless batting, our plans are still smart batting.
01:24We know that partnerships win games with cricket, not just the individual.
01:28We know, though, what is born from good partnerships is a high individual score.
01:32We saw that with, obviously, with Isshana in the first game and Abhishek last time we were here.
01:37So, we've been very clear and calm in our communication to each other and from coaches.
01:42It's all about reading situations, working together to, obviously, get a match-winning score.
01:49I suppose, at times, when I say these are errors, I suppose we always reflect on how quickly do we assess conditions,
01:58both with man and ball, and then what's going to be the best ball to deliver,
02:02what's the best matchup, or, in fact, what's the best style of play against a bowler
02:07or on particular pitch conditions. So, we're forever having those team discussions
02:13to ensure that we try and put the percentages in our favour come game day.
