00:00Ethiopians marked Easter with reflections on sacrifice love and peace as a country grapples

00:09with ongoing conflicts and challenges known as Fasika. Eastern brought together Christians from

00:15all denominations including the majority of Orthodox community to honor the death and

00:21resurrection of Jesus. This day is a sacred day on which our Savior Jesus Christ brought honor

00:29when he was crucified on the cross for our sake. So this feast holds special significance for

00:35Ethiopians because it commemorates when the immortal Son of God died for our sake thereby

00:41redeeming us. For many recent religious celebrations have taken on deeper significance amid the turmoil

00:53in the Amhara region in the aftermath of the Tigray conflict which ended with the peace

00:59agreement in 2022. At Adi Sababas Bolli Medanialem Church large cross gathered for gold Friday services.

01:11On this day we have prepared this feast in commemoration of the glorious celebration

01:16wherein our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for our sake was crucified, tortured, died and was buried and

01:24rose again on the third day. We have been holding such gatherings for over 40 years.

01:30It is a feast we offer unto all including the holy priests and deacons. Tomorrow also the needy shall spend the entire day abiding with us.

01:40Our Easter is celebrated with the Medha DLM Church and with the needy.

01:47Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed called for Ethiopians to embrace humility, reconciliation and

01:52consultation as a nation of more than 125 million people continue to face civil unrest and conflicts.
