00:00A lot of injured players around Major League Baseball. Let's start with Justin Steele, a pitcher that I drafted, coupled with Shota Imanaga, and right now you were mentioning, I think, earlier that the Cubs can ill afford to lose any more of their pieces. Let's talk Justin Steele and the Cubs.
00:17Yeah, this is really unfortunate, especially because first couple starts were rough, and then Justin Steele had a great start, only to be followed with his injury, and last week we told you, once again, this is probably not going in the right direction.
00:30You should probably be very concerned. Whenever you hear the word second opinion, which is what we just talked about with Grayson Rodriguez, it means it's not going to go well.
00:37It's very rare, like, no, you know what? Everything's fine. Turns out, second guy said it was all completely different things.
00:44The second opinion is there just to verify what they already know to be true, which is bad news. That's all it is.
00:49And Justin Steele, unfortunately, is going to be out for the remainder of the 2025 season, and then at least a part of 2026.
00:57Now, he didn't have the full Tommy John surgery. He had something a little different called revision repair, which is something that Matt likes to do about his past.
01:06Revision repair is a big fan of it. It is not exactly the Tommy John surgery.
01:12It is less invasive, apparently, and it doesn't replace the entire UCL of the elbow.
01:18So, the hope is he makes a full recovery, and you probably see him sometime, my guess, was midway through next season.
01:24That's probably when you'd see Justin Steele again.
01:26But we mentioned this before. If you had a lot of shares of the Cubs, I understand they're at the top of the division right now.
01:32I know the lineup is really good. I know they played well. Even Aug is great.
01:35I just can't get around this rotation, Matt. Like, I just don't think that I believe that you can get to September with a lead in that division when you've got the Reds starting to play better and Hunter Green starting to emerge there when you have a team like the Brewers who are always just kind of find a way, and Churio is an absolute star.
01:54But right now, you're looking at, after Imanaga, it's Matthew Boyd, Ben Brown, Colin Ray, and Jamison Tyon.
02:01Does that scream playoff rotation to you? Because it doesn't to me.
