00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Hewson-Bertz and for our big
00:03video today we're going to do a little football round-up for you ahead of the Easter weekend.
00:07Now today is Friday, they will have games today and they will have games on Monday certainly
00:11if they are playing in the EFL. This really is one of the biggest weekends in the football
00:15calendar so let's have a look at what our clubs are facing as we get near to the end
00:19of the season. We'll start in the Premier League where they'll only have one game each
00:22with Manchester City set to face off against Everton tomorrow. Man City are obviously desperate
00:26to work their way into the Champions League places which would sort of salvage a season
00:30that's turned sour in many ways after winning the league last year. It will be a tough task
00:34for City. Everton have been pretty good since David Moyes arrived back at the club but if
00:38they can find themselves into a top four spot and still build up successfully to the FA Cup
00:42matchup with Forest in a few weeks then they'll have something to salvage from the season.
00:47Manchester United are looking good in Europe. They're just off the back of a dramatic 5-4
00:50win over Lyon in the Europa League which was massive in terms of building some momentum
00:54for Manchester United. It has been a bad season for them but manager Ruben Amarum has retained
00:59the support of many fans. Their next match is a tough one against Wolves who've improved
01:03substantially lately. That match is on the Sunday so there won't be much rest for them
01:06so it's going to be interesting to see if Manchester United can work their way into the top ten.
01:10Down to League One now and we've got three teams to talk about. Stockport are the ones with
01:13the most to play for really. They're sat in fourth, five points behind Wrexham who were
01:17in second. There are four games left so it might be too big of a gap to bridge and they
01:21have two tough games this week. Playing Peterborough today who've just won a trophy against runaway
01:26leaders Birmingham and playing Huddersfield on Monday who may have had a bit of a tough
01:29season but still have some impressive players. They are safely in the playoff spots though
01:33whereas Bolton are right on the edge of the playoffs. They're three points behind sixth
01:37place Reading and level on points with Leighton Orient who are in seventh and it's been an
01:41interesting season for them as well. Saying goodbye to Ian Everett who'd been there for a long
01:44long time. Steven Schumacher's done a solid job since coming in.
01:47There's two tough games again though for them this weekend. Playing third place to Wickham
01:51today and a Lincoln side who proved difficult to be on Monday so there's no room to slip
01:54up if they do want to have a chance of getting promoted to the championship.
01:57Finally in League One are Wigan who basically can relax. They're completely safe from relegation
02:01they don't have much hope of making it into the top half even and really it's been
02:05another pretty difficult season. Ryan Lowe's a good manager and there has been some
02:09course for future optimism. They play Shrewsbury today and Rotherham on Monday.
02:12Finally down in League Two Salford City will have a job to get into the playoffs but it's far from
02:16done yet. They're four points away from seventh place Grimsby and have a better goal difference
02:21than them. They are unbeaten in the last five but do have some draws mixed in and they will
02:25be hoping to win both of their games this weekend coming up against Accrington today and a soon
02:28to be relegated Morecambe on Monday. Briefly touching on non-league Oldham Athletic and
02:32Rochdale are both looking to be well in contention for playoff spots. They both start the weekend
02:37just inside the top seven although there's a lot of pressure from another Greater Manchester team,
02:41Altringham. Now Altringham have a four point deficit to make up if they want to sneak into
02:45the playoffs so their battle with Rochdale today will carry a lot of spikes particularly
02:49being a bit of a local derby and then their match against Halifax who sit in seventh on
02:53Monday feeling a bit like a season defining game. But that's all for now. Follow Manchester
02:57World for more and we'll see you again soon.
