00:21So tell me, how was it, you know, making this album one?
00:24I know you were really excited over the summer to let this thing go, and now it's finally

00:30And what made you name it, Movie?
00:32Movie, man.
00:33So I have been wanting to do a visual album, like, for so long, because I'm a visual artist.
00:39I feel like I sell my music with my swag, my dance, me, you know?
00:43So I really wanted to have a visual album.
00:46So when I had the full sound, like the track list of everything, I just, you know, felt
00:53like everything that I just had been through, like, in my life, not that everything is in
00:59the album, but like, it really was a movie, like, for me, like, you know, it ain't no
01:03regular life, like, for real.
01:05Ain't nobody really going through this.
01:06And like, the fact that I made it a movie, like, people are like, yo, this is really a
01:11movie?
01:11And I'm like, it's real life.
01:12Like, so it's just funny how, like, you know, I'm hearing that, like, dang, she really gave
01:18us a whole movie.
01:19Like, what?
01:20And I'm like, that's what it is.
01:21Like, that's exactly what I wanted to give.
01:23So it was like the perfect title.
01:26It was just simple.
01:27And like, oh, shoot, you know, I have a movie with it, too.
01:29Like, you know what I'm saying?
01:30So I love when an album like that has a story, a visual story to it.
01:34What was inspirations going into this album?
01:37Because I love the waves that it goes through.
01:39You know what I mean?
01:39Like, you kind of take us through this, you know, I'm happy to be in a relationship thing.
01:42Then things go sour, but then you get back in your bag and everything gets turned up.
01:46And then it smooths down out towards the end.
01:48So what were a lot of the inspirations going into it?
01:51Life, yo.
01:51It was dead ass exactly what you just said.
01:55Rollercoaster.
01:56Yeah, it was a rollercoaster.
01:57It's just the stages of, you know, being in love and everything just being so beautiful.
02:03And just you feel it.
02:04You hear it in my voice.
02:05Like, it was definitely genuine.
02:06And then, like, you know, just going through it bullshit-wise.
02:10And, like, you know, it's life.
02:12Like, relationships.
02:13I've been through, like, a lot with relationships.
02:16So I'm a big, big lover.
02:18So I write about love all the time.
02:20That's what I'm singing about.
02:22You know what I'm saying?
02:23So it was that.
02:24And just, you know, going through the stages of a relationship.
02:27And, you know, going through bullshit and doing me and Monique, turning into that, focusing on myself.
02:34And then after, like, going back into it because I'm a hopeless romantic and I just want love.
02:40And, you know, hoping things can work out.
02:42And then, you know, seeing how it ends and stuff.
02:45And that's what's up.
02:47You ain't have to do my mans like that at the end, though.
02:49I mean, I know he broke your heart and all that.
02:50But, yo, I mean, I don't want to spoil the movie, though.
02:53But, you know what I mean?

02:55I know we don't know what happened.

03:10So what would you say is hard?
03:12I mean, I know, you know, you have it, you know, being who you are right now.
03:15And your status is continuing to climb.
03:17And your stardom just rising.
03:18And what's harder, managing the relationship or dealing with the rumors of, you know, the internet saying who you date?
03:26What's harder?
03:27I think it just depends on, like, you know, the situation.
03:32And I've learned a lot, like, you know, because this was my first time kind of just being out there, especially with relationships.
03:39You know what I'm saying?
03:40My name was never tied to any type of relationship ever in my whole come up or whatever.
03:45So it's something that I'm learning and everything, but I'm learning to not let it bother me because nobody knows nothing.

03:53Y'all can all assume things.

03:55Like, it's just like, how do you write a comment like that when you don't even know my life?
03:59You don't even know my everyday.

04:02So it's just kind of like something that I've learned to deal with.
04:05And like, okay, I do music and everybody's nosy and they're just going to put their own stories into everything.
04:12So I really don't care.
04:13I have a real life.
04:14You know what I'm saying?
04:15So I've just learned to deal with it.
04:17Yeah.
04:18I feel like everybody's kind of curious about what every celebrity is dating and what they're doing.
04:23It's why the internet's a crazy place.
04:25We already know it.
04:25Everybody knows it.
04:27We know this already.
04:28We asked for it.
04:29This is what comes with it.
04:31Exactly.
04:32Now with the movie having a cliffhanger and not knowing what happens at the end, is there a sequel in the works that you're probably going to use for the next project?
04:41We shall see.
04:42You know, this was an album that was so complete.
04:48Like, I had been working on it for like really two years.
04:51Like, there's songs in there that were two years old from like this relationship.
04:55So like, you know what I'm saying?
04:57It's like, I don't know.
04:58I just, whatever happens, happens.
05:01Like, there could be a movie part two, but also my whole life can change and something different can come up.
05:06And I'll think of a different concept type of thing.
05:08So we just, we'll see, you know, how it pans out.
05:12And a lot of awesome features on there.
05:14You got Gunna.
05:15And one of the songs that I actually like, too, is with Party Next Door.
05:18So tell me what it was like, you know, working with all these guys.
05:21I love how you kind of adapt or you got the chemistry.
05:25The chemistry, whatever it is you had on this album, it just connected on point.
05:30Yeah, like every feature is like the song sound of, you know, the wave of me, the feature.
05:36I feel like, definitely.
05:38Party Next Door was like one of my favorite.
05:40That was like a session together.
05:42So that was a really dope session.
05:44It was my first time working with him.
05:46Nicest guy.
05:47What?
05:48He's so humble.
05:49And, excuse me, Party has written like hits.
05:52Like, you know what I'm saying?
05:53He's the GOAT to me.
05:54So getting to work with him and seeing him in his element, like, it was just like how the
05:59song sounds is how it was really created.
06:02We were really just going back and forth, like, vibing for real.
06:04Like, he would go in the booth and I would go in the booth.
06:07And it was just so effortless, like, for real.
06:10And then with, like, Gunna and Yella, I didn't get to be there with Gunna, but I was there
06:15with Yella.
06:16So I had already had that song.
06:18And we was in Miami and he pulled up on me in the studio.
06:22I just played him songs and he hopped on that one.
06:24So I got to hear him do the verse.
06:25He killed that shit.
06:27And then Gunna, I wanted another rapper on it.
06:29I wanted Gunna on it.
06:30And I actually linked with him and Young Thug and we was in the studio and I played
06:35the track and they were just like, this shit raw.
06:37Like, what?
06:38So, yeah, he just, like, a couple of days later, he sent me the verse over and I was
06:43like, oh, my God.
06:45Yes, thank you.
06:47I'm so hyped.
06:48Now, knowing that the movie has a movie to it, were there any movies that, you know,
06:54that you watched maybe in the process or do you have a favorite movie of all time?
07:00I didn't watch any movies.
07:03I mean, I watch movies just off quarantine and shit.
07:06Of course.
07:06You know, but nothing that, I guess, what inspired me.
07:10Like, you know, I wasn't looking for inspiration.
07:11It was all like, you know.
07:13But I don't know if I have a favorite movie.
07:15Everybody's been asking me this question since I made a movie.
07:18You know, I'm like, damn.
07:19I think it's like the obvious take because it has, like, that you use the Stranger Things
07:23kind of font for the album.
07:26Everybody said that and I didn't even realize.
07:28You didn't keep that?

07:30After I dropped it, people said, I'm getting Stranger Things items.
07:33And I was like, oh, okay.
07:34So then I looked it up and I was like, damn, that looks mad similar.
07:39But it's a different font.
07:41I'm like, they ain't going to sue me.
07:42I'm going to be okay.
07:45It's all good.
07:46All the nerds noticed it.
07:48So it's all good.
07:49And I like Stranger Things.
07:52That's a dope show.
07:53I used to watch that show.
07:54So, yeah, I can't wait for the next season to drop.
07:57So, yeah, the album's out right now and it's doing really well.
08:00Are you happy to see the feedback that you're getting from a lot of the fans
08:02and everybody showing love that's, you know, within the circle?
08:06No, for sure.
08:07Like, what I knew it was going to do what it was going to do.
08:11But, like, just to see it happen, it just feels so different.
08:14Like, I reached number one on iTunes.
08:16I'm at, like, number five on Apple.
08:19I don't know how to check into Spotify.
08:21But I'm just, like, so happy to see the results.
08:24And I really feel like it's a very long-lasting album.
08:27So it's going to be up there for a minute.

08:40It just feels so good.

09:02And it was, like, I think Jada and Fab and 2 Chainz all there.

09:08And I'm just like, you know, I'm having people from Def Jam telling me, like, yo, this girl's next up.
09:12And she got it.
09:13And I was, like, really impressed.
09:14My girl and I were there.
09:15We were super impressed.
09:17And to see you grow from the plan and having this album out right now, I'm just, you know, keep doing it, girl.
