Transkrip
00:00:00You saw that chassis adjustment, the plan was to drop the track bar one, four fresh figure tires, snow boat fuel, on your right, that's Ryan Sieg in the 39, Ryan has reported he got tight that run and needs help, definitely firing off, specifically lateral on the fire off.
00:00:13Not a lot of drama when it comes to the progressive race off pit road, 41, 39, nose to tail, they hold their position.
00:00:21A few other pit stops taking place here, Larson and those others that came down lap 79 prior to the end of stage one, stay out, they'll be at the front of the field, when we go green in stage two, as we head over to the CW garage, and Carla Metz, hey Carla.
00:00:36Thanks Adam, and we've talked about Kyle Larson's dominance, but let's look at the number 17 through five races this season, as a whole they finished second three times with three different drivers, and they also own three stage wins, ironically Kyle Larson is the only HMS
00:00:51Cup driver, who hasn't finished second in the series, but he has led the most laps, and of course we know he did dominate that race in Miami, but finished fourth after a late race restart, but I'd say that's pretty good numbers for the 17 as a whole, and of course Larson trying to add to that dominance today, Adam.
00:01:06Well, and you know, you look at Corey Day, and for him at Martinsville, which is a very difficult racetrack, he's making his first ever start, and the 21st may be a little false, because they had a better race car than that, he impressed us on that Saturday afternoon,
00:01:20and evening in practice, and qualifying before we went green, but across the board, the numbers they have produced, as Carla said, have just been amazing.
00:01:27It's every time this car shows up, you now know it's something you're going to have to contend against in the experience if you want to win, and it's been that case the last two years or so, when they showed up, you knew it was going to be fast,
00:01:37Chase Elliott behind the wheel, racing Kyle Larson when he showed up to Kota last year, you know, it definitely is just, you know, when Hedrick Motorsports puts a label on something,
00:01:45and they're going to go all after it, and they do this program not only for the drivers to get some little track time at places they want to run,
00:01:52but also it's about having that depth in the organization, giving some people in the organization an opportunity to work on a race weekend,
00:01:58and sort of have that depth ready for the time they might need at the Cup Series.
00:02:02Look down here at Mayer and Sieg in the bumper.
00:02:05They're scored just outside the top ten after making their pit stops here,
00:02:09but Xfinity fastest lap goes to Sam Mayer, who did it at the end of the stage on those older tires.
00:02:16What a major statement about the good years and just how fast that race car was in that situation.
00:02:22Clean air is a beautiful thing sometimes.
00:02:24Even here at a half-mile short track like this, high-banked, clean air can matter.
00:02:27How decorated is Mayer in the bumper in 13th?
00:02:30He's got the green and white checkered flag for winning the stage and the purple stopwatch for having the fastest lap.
00:02:35We do the choose as we anticipate our second stage.
00:02:38No surprise, Larson goes outside.
00:02:42How about Sammy Smith has established some track positions?
00:02:45Second of that group that had already made their pit stops, and he'll restart on the front row.
00:02:50As everyone else does the choose, you know, we had the early problem for Harrison Burton,
00:02:54made the pit stop, eventually lost a lap to Larson.
00:02:57He was in the top 20 after the cycle of stops.
00:03:01Too fast, though, exiting, so he'll have to drop to the rear.
00:03:03And Parker Retzloff, what a day for him.
00:03:05Qualified ninth, had to drop to the rear, unapproved adjustments, lost a lap.
00:03:10He's 25th right now on the lead lap, but he had his crew over the wall too soon,
00:03:15so he, too, was penalized in that cycle of stops.
00:03:20If you're Sammy Smith in this position, you know how good Kyle Larson's been on the restarts on the top.
00:03:24You saw what the 39 went through on that last restart, struggling to get the power down.
00:03:28When you're on the bottom, you're just, it's so tough to get the power down in the banking
00:03:32and turning the car at the same time, so you're just trying to do the best you can to not spin the rears.
00:03:3681 laps led today from the pole for Kyle Larson.
00:03:40Dominated stage one, and he gets the jump as we begin stage two of the crystal.
00:03:44Really solid restart by Kyle Larson once again.
00:03:52Good effort by Sammy Smith.
00:03:53Loses out to Justin Allgaier to fall to third, and now side-by-side here off of four.
00:03:57I love watching the racing back through the field and how aggressive they are on these restarts.
00:04:02Connor Zilich making the outside lane work.
00:04:05Side-by-side for third.
00:04:07Zilich in the black-and-red 88 outside of his teammate.
00:04:10The eight is Sammy Smith.
00:04:12He's got a ton of momentum here.
00:04:13He's going to get right to the back bumper of the seven.
00:04:15Does he try to clear the bottom?
00:04:16No.
00:04:16He stays to the outside.
00:04:18He said, I'll get the eight.
00:04:20I might go after the seven.
00:04:22Zilich feeling it on this restart.
00:04:25And when it's working for you up top, especially early on the restart,
00:04:28you want to take advantage of that as much as you can.
00:04:30You're going to try and get everything you can there and then get back down to the bottom.
00:04:34But if it's working, if they're bottled up on the bottom,
00:04:36you're going to try and use everything you've got up there.
00:04:37And now we watch Mayer, who wins the opening stage, makes the pit stop,
00:04:42didn't lose a ton of track position because of how few cars were on the lead lap.
00:04:48But here he is delicately working his way back through traffic.
00:04:51It's definitely going to drive differently than when he said that.
00:04:54It's been the fastest lap from the lead in clean air.
00:04:57But now it's about being smart.
00:04:58And we preach this in the Xperia Series all the time at these short tracks where you have the ability to flip the stages.
00:05:04It puts competitive cars deeper in the field than they necessarily would be speed-wise.
00:05:08You just have to be smart as you work your way through.
00:05:10You don't want to damage that race car and put yourself in a worse position when you know you have the speed to work your way back up front.
00:05:16This is our Custard Stan Chili onboard camera.
00:05:19You're riding with Jeb Burton, who at one time was a lap down.
00:05:22Now back on the lead lap.
00:05:23He's 13th.
00:05:27One is Carson Quapel.
00:05:30Oh, got pretty sideways there.
00:05:33And as you try to make that top lane work, especially after a restart, it can just be a little dirtier up there.
00:05:39There's still some rubber from the runs before up top that hasn't been picked up under caution.
00:05:43So it's tougher to make work, and it sort of goes through cycles here at Bristol.
00:05:47You'll start to see the bottom be the preferred groove, and then as it heats up and we lay enough rubber down there,
00:05:52you'll start to see the top be the place to be.
00:05:54That's where we saw Larson making a ton of speed in the first stage.
00:05:57And it's just you have to sort of have the versatility and be able to recognize as the track changes lap by lap where you need to be.
00:06:04Somewhere, Dale Jr. is smiling on the heels of putting all five of his cars in the top nine at Darlington.
00:06:10Look at JRM today, second to fifth in the running order.
00:06:15They've been impressive the last couple of weeks, Kim.
00:06:18Yeah, and you mentioned owner Dale, owner Hart Jr., and as we just saw Carson Quapel trying to use that top lane
00:06:23to help prepare for Carson's first Bristol Xfinity race.
00:06:27Carson leaned heavily on owner Dale Jr.
00:06:29They had a lengthy conversation about how to find success here, specifically running that top line.
00:06:34And Crew Chief Andrew Overstreet told me Carson studied Dale's in-car camera and SMT for the last two years here.
00:06:41So he's got the right tools, and he's got track position.
00:06:44We'll see what he can make of it.
00:06:45Great day for Junior Motorsports.
00:06:47Not a good day for AM Racing and Harrison Burton.
00:06:50After qualifying, he has the early tire issue.
00:06:54They get a lap down.
00:06:56The penalty on pit road, unscheduled pit stop just across the board.
00:06:59Things have not gone the way of the 25.
00:07:03We're going to see the right front go down here.
00:07:05Another issue.
00:07:05This could be a mechanical situation where the sway bar arm or something.
00:07:08The suspension is actually rubbing the inside of that tire coming down.

00:09:45For the first time in over two decades,
00:09:48Let's go!
00:09:50the NASCAR Xfinity Series returns to the rock.
00:09:53You've got to be kidding me.
00:09:55Next Saturday,
00:09:56Rockingham Speedway is back.
00:09:59Hold on tight.
00:10:01NASCAR's hottest young drivers roar into the classic track with a bang.
00:10:07Crash.
00:10:08The NASCAR Xfinity Series,
00:10:10next Saturday from Rockingham at 3 Eastern, 12 Pacific on the CW.
00:10:17You're watching the NASCAR Xfinity Series live at Bristol Motor Speedway on CW.
00:10:21Aerial coverage brought to you by the Lucas Oil Helicopter.
00:10:25See a driver there that we haven't said a whole lot about today.
00:10:31I mean, his Chevy's out front.
00:10:31Kyle Larson, not surprising.
00:10:33He's been dominant, leading 107 laps.
00:10:36A lot of junior motorsports Chevys behind him.
00:10:39And then I also noticed Jesse Love has been impressive today, back in the sixth position.
00:10:45There he is in the deuce for Richard Childress Racing tomorrow.
00:10:48Going to make his cup debut earlier today in qualifying on the cup side.
00:10:52Quite impressive.
00:10:5319th he put it on the board.
00:10:54Very impressive.
00:10:55His first start here last year.
00:10:56He's got a top five.
00:10:58Said he loved this place.
00:10:59Wondered about that choice to make your cup start at Bristol.
00:11:02I'm starting to think it was going to work for him because he just seems to have enacted this place.
00:11:06In qualifying, he definitely had a shot at putting up a lap that maybe would have contended with Larson.
00:11:11He was really fast, but got super loose.
00:11:13We know he had a lot of speed in that race car, and he's starting to show it as we get into stage two here.
00:11:18Wrapping the bottom nicely and turning some really quick laps, sitting back in sixth.
00:11:22I think they definitely have more speed than they've shown early on in this race.
00:11:26Let's go on board Kyle Larson.
00:11:28This is a master at work.
00:11:30Take notes if you want to know how to run around Bristol right here.
00:11:41Let's go back to the battle up front for the second position.
00:12:09Sammy Smith saw Kyle Larson four seconds behind him.
00:12:13The eight is Sammy Smith, and he's racing with a seven of Justin Allgaier for the runner-up spot.
00:12:18You're really fighting through traffic right here.
00:12:20You saw on that on board of Larson how he cuts through traffic from the top to the bottom,
00:12:24diamonding the corners, able to get back to the throttle so well as that car cuts to the center.
00:12:28And then when you're racing, so when you don't quite have that same opportunity as your Sammy Smith position,
00:12:33you're trying to protect from Justin Allgaier, trying to defend him off
00:12:36and not let him get beside you, but also trying to navigate your way through this traffic.
00:12:40And if you're Justin, you're hoping some of that traffic stops up Sammy Smith
00:12:44and gives you that chance to get beside him or to get by him.
00:12:46And that's how you navigate through traffic here at Bristol.
00:12:49It can be a lot of fun when it's working to your advantage.
00:12:51It can be very frustrating when it's holding you up
00:12:53and not allowing you to do what you want to do in that car.
00:12:56Oh, this is going to be tight.
00:12:57He's not afraid.
00:12:58Kyle Larson shoves it in there and starting to work the lap traffic again.
00:13:03Got around Matt DiBenedetto.
00:13:04He's a lap down one more time.
00:13:06Josh Williams is going to lap in arrears.
00:13:08And the four is Parker Retzloff.
00:13:10He'll be the next one to drop a lap.
00:13:12He's 23rd on the board right now.
00:13:17Oh, Retzloff got that penalty.
00:13:19If not for the penalty, maybe some better track position could have stayed on the lead lap.
00:13:2645 Mason Massey.
00:13:27What's he thinking right here?
00:13:29We were riding it on board, but it looks like more dramatic from the outside.
00:13:33The difference in entry speed to the center of the corner for Larson compared to some of those other cars.
00:13:38It's like a different class running by you.
00:13:40Different type of race car at that time.
00:13:45Let's go on board William Swalich.
00:13:47And we have to give this rookie driver a pat on the back.
00:13:50This is our Sound Gear on board camera.
00:13:52Last few weeks have been a major struggle for him.
00:13:55But he comes to a place where he has experience.
00:13:58He's had success here, winning in the ARCA East Series, claiming championships.
00:14:02Good in practice.
00:14:03Good in qualifying.
00:14:04Eighth right now.
00:14:05It's been a tough string of races outside the top 20 points coming into this race.
00:14:09Really needed a good race to turn things around for them.
00:14:12And this is exactly what you want to see.
00:14:13Running the top ten.
00:14:15A place I know he enjoys to come to and goes and likes to race at.
00:14:19But definitely, this is the type of run that they really needed, Dylan, to turn things around in the 18.
00:14:23Well, yeah, Parker, you know it as a rookie.
00:14:27There's a lot of learning that has to be done between the driver and the crew chief and just everybody working together.
00:14:32And Jeff Mendering, the crew chief, told me this morning, we went into this year expecting to be better the second half of the year.
00:14:38So these first few races, it's a learning process for all of us.
00:14:41But as long as we stay positive, he said they are staying positive.
00:14:44We're all keeping expectations realistic.
00:14:46So this was one they had circled.
00:14:48William felt really optimistic about it.
00:14:49Said this was the most comfortable he felt unloading off the truck.
00:14:52So off to a good start so far.
00:14:54And I would say the big thing to that, Dylan, is capitalizing.
00:14:57When you go to a place where you have confidence, they're doing that today.
00:15:01Because if you don't capitalize in a place like this, it can really demoralize you.
00:15:05Definitely.
00:15:06And it's key for his confidence.
00:15:07And we'll talk about it all the time with young drivers.
00:15:10Confidence and what the level of their confidence is and what helps them gain that confidence.
00:15:14And when you have those tough races at Miami, at Darlington, wore out racetracks, you know, that really hurts your confidence.
00:15:22But to come to a place like Bristol, knowing how tough it is to have good speed and to run well at times, that just boosts your confidence so quickly.
00:15:29It allows you to distract more performance.
00:15:31Larson around Daniel Dye.
00:15:33He's 21st.
00:15:3420 cars on the lead lap.
00:15:35Larson, Sammy Smith, Allgaier, Quapel, Zilich, the top five.

00:16:03Holmes.com es el mejor.
00:16:05No.
00:16:05What if he said it?
00:16:06Holmes.com.
00:16:08It's the best.
00:16:10Holmes.com.
00:16:11It's the best.

00:16:33We don't have to go to school anymore.
00:16:34Can you close a meal?
00:16:35No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
00:16:36What?
00:16:36It's because it's a buffet of all-you-can-eat butterfly shrimp and sirloin steak.
00:16:39Yeah, that's the reason.
00:16:41Oh.
00:16:43Got to have a lucky charm when you ride, right?
00:16:44Makes you feel safe and protected out there.
00:16:47That's why I never leave home without a photo of the little ones.
00:16:50Bracelet from my husband.
00:16:51Lucky rabbit's foot.
00:16:53Lucky rabbit named Svoot.
00:16:55Well, there's really no need for a lucky charm when you ride.
00:17:03Not when America's number one motorcycle insurance got your back.
00:17:06We're just going to ignore the fact that Carl has a rabbit.
00:17:10Name Svoot.
00:17:11Because no one can do it like we do it, like we do it, like we do it.
00:17:21We've got the right stuff.
00:17:23We put the hammer right down.

00:17:41What's your way to Tajin it?
00:17:42Did you know Toyota has three NASCAR Cup teams?
00:17:45We got team 2311, owned by this guy, and three-time Daytona winner Denny Hamlin.
00:17:51But Denny Hamlin races for another team.
00:17:54Joe Gibbs racing.
00:17:55Yeah, Super Bowl winning head coach Joe Gibbs.
00:17:58And they both share the track with Legacy Motor Club, co-owned by seven-time Cup champ Jimmy Johnson.
00:18:02Three epic teams, four legendary owners, all going after one cup.
00:18:07Now you're up to speed.
00:18:08You in?

00:18:44If you're just joining us on this Saturday afternoon from Bristol, Tennessee,
00:18:48it has been the Kyle Larson Show here on this half mile.
00:18:52Dominated the opening stage.
00:18:54A cycle of pit stops and some strategy prevented him from winning the first 10 of the race.
00:18:58He leads off the start in stage two, flexing his muscles again.
00:19:02He drives around Jetburton.
00:19:04He's 15th.
00:19:0527 is a lap down.
00:19:08And while we were away, you saw it in our side-by-side.
00:19:10Jeremy Clements, tire rub 51.
00:19:13Let's see what might have happened here.
00:19:15You see that big donut on the left side as well, right ahead of the left rear tire.
00:19:19So we're going to look here off of turn four.
00:19:21That's Larson down the bottom.
00:19:23And, oh, that is getting loose and saying hi to the leader.
00:19:28Larson's lucky to get away with that.
00:19:32Hinderpcars.com on board camp.
00:19:35Let's see.
00:19:36He slides up, and there you can feel the contact.
00:19:40It would have been a little shocking to Kyle, for sure.
00:19:42And that's just another example of even when you have a almost five-second lead here at Bristol,
00:19:48you're still not in a safe position any time.
00:19:50All right, second, working lap traffic.
00:19:53And I have to say Sammy Smith has done an outstanding job here in stage two.
00:19:57Starts in the front row.
00:19:58Been racing Allgaier the entire time.
00:20:00And finally, he loses that runner-up position as the seven is able to drive by as they work all these lap cars.
00:20:07He's defended really well, and finally the traffic played in Justin Allgaier's favor
00:20:12as they work through a lot of traffic.
00:20:14They were constantly trying to find different lines from each other,
00:20:17and that's sort of the ebb and flow at Bristol as you race through traffic as the leaders.
00:20:21You're just trying to use them to your advantage and not have them slow you up too much.
00:20:24Battle for fifth.
00:20:25We've got a long way to go in this race, 12 to go stage two.
00:20:28But top four regulars going to run for the dash for cash next weekend.
00:20:32That means this position at this stage in the, this point in the final stage would be huge
00:20:38as Zillich races outside of Love for fifth on track.
00:20:41And stage points on offer.
00:20:43You want every single one you can get.
00:20:48Zillich hangs on for now.
00:20:51Nice back and forth for second as we had Allgaier and Sammy Smith in the race for fifth.
00:20:57Good as well.
00:20:58Zillich and Love, 10 to go, stage two.
00:21:02And our leader Kyle Larson has now improved on his record from stage one
00:21:05where he lapped up to 14th.
00:21:07We're now up to 13th and knocking on the door of lapping up to 12th, possibly the top 10th.
00:21:11And while his advantage over second, seven seconds, is as good as it's been all day long,
00:21:17it was 10 seconds plus over third on back.
00:21:20So that advantage is not as great right now.
00:21:22There's an improvement there for the rest of the field.
00:21:23Maybe he's just calmed it down and he's taking care of his equipment.
00:21:26I have no idea.
00:21:28The guy's been ridiculous today.
00:21:30And this line that he's been running occasionally where he sort of diamonds the corner
00:21:33and turns down aggressively in the center, it just shows the speed of this race car
00:21:38and the ability that he has to get back to throttle.
00:21:40I just don't see out of any other race car in the field.
00:21:42And I said it earlier, I want to say it's just the race car, it's really fast.
00:21:45That's classic Kyle Larson, doing things others are not or can't at times
00:21:50and finding a way to make speed doing that.
00:21:52It's just so impressive to watch him cut through traffic as he does this line.
00:21:56It's a little bit different what we see now than some of the others.
00:21:58He doesn't stay up next to the wall late to the exit.
00:22:00It's this cut down diamond.
00:22:02And he uses it really effectively in traffic to get big runs to clear people.
00:22:05The statement that he's making, not only in the numbers when you look at the cars on the lead lap,
00:22:11but those drivers that he's put a lap down.
00:22:14Eckes a lap down, Sanchez, Austin Hill who's going for the dash for cash.
00:22:19And we give you now our Toyota driver update.
00:22:21Taylor Gray back there in the 18th position.
00:22:24One of the many drivers that finds himself a lap down to race leader Kyle Larson.
00:22:29You see that big wiggle from his car out of turn two.
00:22:32who got some info that he was just struggling being pretty loose inside this race car.
00:22:37Now, this is such a tough place to have a loose race car.
00:22:40It puts you in such a box as to what you're able to do with that race car,
00:22:43where you're able to place it.
00:22:44Getting the power down is difficult, and it really just puts you in a position
00:22:47where sometimes you just have to simply go slower to keep that race car on the race track.
00:22:51So Wallach and Heim for position.
00:22:53Two young drivers in the Toyota camp.
00:22:56Bit of a dance for So Wallach.
00:22:57Heim is there.
00:22:58Three to go, stage two.
00:23:02Those little taps that, you know, I'm here, and I would like to take this position ASAP.
00:23:08And that's big, because that's a stage point.
00:23:10And we talked about it.
00:23:11So Wallach needs all the points that he can get.
00:23:14Sam Mayer is there after winning the opening stage.
00:23:17This is big, too.
00:23:18Dean Thompson in the 26th, last car on the lead lap.
00:23:21Final lap of the stage.
00:23:22He needs to stay there so he doesn't have to use the free pass.
00:23:27This is big, and Larson creating a little bit of grace here,
00:23:31and it's going to be a nice moment in this race for Dean Thompson if he can hang on, and he does.
00:23:36Stage two goes to the dominator, Kyle Larson.
00:23:40How good has this guy been?
00:23:42Leading 156 laps today.
00:23:46And it takes forever to see who finished second, third, fourth, and fifth,
00:23:51because they're so far back.
00:23:5317th career stage win for Cardinal 17.
00:23:58He won stage two at Homestead last month.
00:24:00Couldn't finish the deal.
00:24:02Maybe he can today.
00:24:03He's got it in the win.
00:24:04It stops when we return to Thunder Valley.

00:24:40Time for pit stops.
00:24:42Let's go to Progressive Pit Road.
00:24:43Dylan?
00:24:43Yeah, Kyle Larson said, we are free to fire off and built tight off the bottom on a long run,
00:24:49but also free entry up top.
00:24:50In spite of all that, he said, we're really good, obviously.
00:24:53They made four tires, four-tire change and added fuel.
00:24:56Justin Allgaier, see the wrench in the back window.
00:24:58He said, we have nothing to lean on in the right rear.
00:25:01Really loose laterally.
00:25:03And the opposite for Connor Zillich.
00:25:04Said, we're struggling to run the bottom, specifically in the middle.
00:25:07So I am way, way too tight on the 88, Kim.
00:25:10Stop underway for Carson Quapel at the top there.
00:25:12Fired off free, but ended tight.
00:25:14They'll look to make another track bar adjustment for Fresh Goodyear tires.
00:25:16In the middle, Jesse Love.
00:25:17He said, the drive-off is okay, but it's too tight to run the bottom.
00:25:20That allows me to attack the top, though.
00:25:22He said, it's impossible to pass.
00:25:24They're going to put some tape on it.
00:25:25They made a track bar adjustment up one.
00:25:26Air pressure as well at the bottom there.
00:25:28Sammy Smith fired off good.
00:25:29Just a touch free, but trending tighter.
00:25:31He said, we think we're close.
00:25:33They just need a little bit more long run speed and a slight bit more front turn.
00:25:37The race off Progressive Pit Road, I would highlight that the 17 helped serve.
00:25:42But he had like a four-day advantage when he came in.
00:25:45No ill will to the pit crew, I promise.

00:26:07Back at Bristol, time for our race break.
00:26:10Brought to you by Safelite, the Autoglass experts.
00:26:14Here's a bit of what we've seen so far.
00:26:17How important is the free pass?
00:26:19Right there.
00:26:20Yeah.
00:26:20I mean, that's enormous because when you think about the way this day has played out,
00:26:25Eckes by that much able to get it.
00:26:27And all that because I feel like Larson was pretty nice to Dean Thompson.
00:26:31So 26 stays on the lead lap, making that race for the free pass.
00:26:35Three drivers did take the wave around here.
00:26:37Daniel Dye, Anthony Alfredo, and Josh Williams.
00:26:41Eckes gets the free pass.
00:26:42We start the final stage with 16 cars on the lead lap.
00:26:46Front row, Larson and Allgaier as we head toward the Echo Park restart zone.
00:27:02Allgaier in the bottom lane, getting it going.
00:27:05Seven jumps to the lead.
00:27:06How about that?
00:27:08It was a pro start for Kyle Larson there.
00:27:10I'm not sure exactly what happened.
00:27:11He's had such great restarts on the top, able to use the banking to sort of get down the racetrack
00:27:16and get the power down and clear the inside lane.
00:27:18He was not able to do that.
00:27:20Gifts just all got out of the lead right now.
00:27:22Let's see if he can hold him off.
00:27:23I'll say the small sample size, but let's go to the end of stage one.
00:27:27Larson had pitted.
00:27:28Sam Mayer stays out.
00:27:30Ryan Sieg.
00:27:31And they were able to hold him off in that short, short run.
00:27:33I'm not trying to make something that's not there,
00:27:36but he did stay behind them and showing a little bit of aggression
00:27:40on the backside of the seven Allgaier here.
00:27:44He's out of mission here today, Kyle Larson.
00:27:46Not only not content lapping 13 cars in one stage,
00:27:49not content being in second right here behind Justin Allgaier.
00:27:53I said it during one of our commercial breaks early.
00:27:55Who made Larson mad this morning?
00:27:58Sammy Smith hanging tough.
00:28:00Jesse Love stays in the top five, riding wide in fourth.
00:28:03And we heard Kyle Larson said that his car is a little bit loose firing off.
00:28:10They tried to make some adjustments for that,
00:28:12but would tighten up over the run.
00:28:14We might be seeing a little bit of that,
00:28:15just this car being looser to start.
00:28:24Look at him.
00:28:25Drivers trying to figure out something in that high lane.
00:28:32Others painting the yellow line.
00:28:34Meanwhile, Justin Allgaier out front.
00:28:36He's now led at Bristol in nine consecutive races.
00:28:39That's a record.
00:28:42Never surprised when he sets new records in this series.
00:28:45He's the man to beat in the Xfinity Series year after year.
00:28:49A champion now after last year.
00:28:50And it's for reasons just like that.
00:28:52He finds a way to the front in almost every type of racetrack there is.
00:28:56And one thing to keep note of, you know,
00:28:58Justin was able to keep in touch with Kyle Larson in the last couple of runs
00:29:01for about 20, 25 laps.
00:29:03But it's about after 25 laps that Larson seems to hit the jet fuel button
00:29:09inside that race car and drives away from Justin Allgaier.
00:29:12So we'll see if maybe that's changed after some pit stop adjustments.
00:29:15Here's another thing to think about in this situation.
00:29:17You've made your pit stop, all these drivers coming down end of stage two
00:29:21at lap 176.
00:29:23You're good to go on fuel.
00:29:25But you have a set of tires, and there's the move.
00:29:28Got him up out of the bottom lane, 17 drives through.
00:29:31Kyle Larson back on point.
00:29:33I was just getting ready to talk about patience and strategy.
00:29:36Forget about it.
00:29:37He was listening.
00:29:37He said, no, thank you.
00:29:38I got your tires.
00:29:40I got your fuel.
00:29:41I'm going back to the lead.
00:29:42And he was not going to wait until 25 laps into this run.
00:29:45He was just going to make it be known right in there.
00:29:46I'm moving through.
00:29:52Corey Himes has been impressive in the 24.
00:29:57Full-time truck driver is ninth.
00:30:03And I think if you're in Larson's position here, you use that bumper
00:30:06because you believe you are way faster than the seven, as we've seen.
00:30:09And you're expecting now to just sort of drive away from him,
00:30:12not even give him a chance to have any sort of retaliation.
00:30:14He had a good run off the top, as we've seen before.
00:30:19Seven tried to turn down.
00:30:20Seventeen had momentum and said, no, thank you.
00:30:23I always say this, too, credit to Sammy Smith, who was patient there.
00:30:27Instead of trying to dive in under his teammate, he lets him slide back down.
00:30:31Seemed very courteous to me.
00:30:32Very nice.
00:30:33Let's get 17 radio and what was going on there when he made that pass.
00:30:44That was just the fall right there.
00:30:46We had too big of a ride for him to block that.
00:30:48Yeah.
00:30:48Yeah, okay.
00:30:54I could sort of see that, I guess, but I also think it's early in this run.
00:31:01You've been so much faster.
00:31:02I don't know if you need that level of aggression, but he was able to get back to the lead
00:31:05and now be in the place he's been most of this race.
00:31:08I don't think Justin would see it the same way.
00:31:11If we could play that side.
00:31:12Of course.
00:31:12In fact, if you played the radio for him right now, he might have gone up there and
00:31:17tried to return the favor.
00:31:18Exactly.
00:31:19And, hey, you know what, to his credit, he is hanging around, not letting Larson get
00:31:23away this time.
00:31:27We know he made some adjustments on that seven car in the last pit stop.
00:31:30He was getting really loose over the run, Justin said, and had no right rear lateral
00:31:35grip.
00:31:36So we'll see if they made some improvements on the long run.
00:31:38But I go back to, as we see all these drivers, and I know it's early in the run, but not
00:31:44an enormous advantage for Larson since he jumped back out front, but I go back to what
00:31:49I was saying before he made the pass for the lead, and that is you can make it on fuel.
00:31:53You have a set of tires, but if we get a long green flag run, you may be in a position
00:31:58where you don't want to use them.
00:31:59I mean, who knows how this is going to work out.
00:32:01I'm not going to try to pontificate on how the scenarios will play, but there is something
00:32:06to be said now, not knowing when the next caution will come, unlike stage one and stage
00:32:11two that says, hey, I'm just going to make sure I take care of my equipment for the long
00:32:15haul.
00:32:15Right.
00:32:16He's had such a speed advantage, though.
00:32:18I mean, I don't think he's been putting that race car through a lot of stress when
00:32:21he's been at times five, seven seconds ahead of second and third place, right?
00:32:26Even though he's making moves through traffic that looks aggressive, it's just not when you
00:32:29go on his onboard and how little effort he's having to put into going around here at that
00:32:34speed, I think that he's already sort of doing that with the speed that they have in that
00:32:38race car.
00:32:39Final run here for perspective.
00:32:40Last fall was 94 laps, so we can see a long green flag run to end it at this place.
00:32:49Austin Hill in the 21.
00:32:51Been quiet today.
00:32:52Dash for cash driver.
00:32:53Won our last short track race.
00:32:5521st.
00:32:56One lap down.
00:32:58And Dean Thompson, who stayed on the lead lap so good at the end of the second stage, in
00:33:0310th right now, in front of Sam Mayer, who won stage one earlier this afternoon.
00:33:08This is a great run for Dean Thompson, Sam Hunt Racing.
00:33:11You know, to have Corey Heim and him in the top 10, that 24 car has struggled this year
00:33:15with some mechanical issues.
00:33:17But to have both of these cars out of the Sam Hunt Racing shop running in the top 10 is a
00:33:20huge day.
00:33:21And I've talked to Sam Hunt about this, and he says, you know, when we have Corey Heim,
00:33:24it's great to show the level of equipment we have.
00:33:27He can help Dean in trying to understand exactly what we need in the race cars.
00:33:30And to see both cars running this well, closely together, is just such a big moment for him.
00:33:34And maybe, not totally surprising, when you consider last time we had a short track race
00:33:39two weeks ago, got his career best sixth at Martinsville, did Dean Thompson.
00:33:43Larson leading, 94 to go at Bristol.
00:33:48Shall we?

00:35:58Govex.com.
00:36:01Hey, Stipe.
00:36:03Nice boots.
00:36:04Where'd you get those?
00:36:04Govex.com.
00:36:10Use it.
00:36:13Exclusive deals for first responders, military, and law enforcement only at govex.com.
00:36:18Hey, Tyler, think I have what it takes to be part of a NASCAR pit crew?
00:36:21You?
00:36:22Yeah, I mean, we keep Xfinity internet fast and reliable at home and on the go.
00:36:25It's kind of like keeping cars fast and reliable on the track.
00:36:28You thought that add coolant meant driving with your sunglasses on?
00:36:31It doesn't make it cooler?
00:36:32What's a jack?
00:36:33Don't bring him into this.
00:36:34I don't know, man.
00:36:35I mean, you asked if we could swap gasoline once.
00:36:37Okay, okay.
00:36:38I shouldn't be in the pit crew.
00:36:40I meant driver.
00:36:41Maybe just stick to what you're good at.
00:36:42Beep, beep.
00:36:44Look out.
00:36:44Xfinity is your super fast connection to NASCAR.
00:36:48Whelan caution lights are on for a fifth time at Bristol Motor Speedway.
00:36:54Inside of 90 laps to go.
00:36:57A spin for Mason Massey.
00:36:59William Swalich checking up.
00:37:02Get some damage done for the day.
00:37:04Let's see how it all started here.
00:37:05So, team behind the blue car on the bottom here.
00:37:08Justin Allgaier is coming down in second place.
00:37:11He was sort of diming the corners.
00:37:12We saw Larson do it earlier.
00:37:14Connects with Mason Massey.
00:37:15And then behind him, you're going to see, eventually, the 18 and Swalich get into the back of the 88.
00:37:22Here we go on board.
00:37:23Caution's on.
00:37:27They're all stopped.
00:37:28And just like we saw earlier in the day when the double zero, Sheldon Creed was spun and sitting on the front stretch.
00:37:33And Brennan Poole ran into him.
00:37:34It's so tough to react to things at this racetrack.
00:37:38Locked up the brakes.
00:37:40He was in seventh place.
00:37:41Having a great run.
00:37:42Two stage points today.
00:37:43Before she ends.
00:37:46Great job by Sammy Smith to tiptoe around on the outside.
00:37:50Waffle got slowed down.
00:37:51So did Jesse Love with the contact for the 18 and the 88.
00:37:56I mentioned Sammy Smith.
00:37:57Look at that.
00:37:58Wow.
00:37:58That's not spotter right there.
00:38:00That's all on the driver, isn't it?
00:38:01Yep.
00:38:02Choosing the right place to go.
00:38:03I mean, a guy spins right in your lap at Bristol.
00:38:05You better react quickly.
00:38:07I hate this scene because we've talked about it.
00:38:14I mean, look at the last four weeks.
00:38:17Some of it, you know, you could chalk up to being a rookie.
00:38:19Some of it just wrong place, wrong time like today.
00:38:22But I go back to what we said earlier about Swalich.
00:38:25This was a place where he felt confident and he was doing all the things he needed to do and he's not going to get the payoff.
00:38:30That hurts so much, you know, especially when you're having the day that they're having and the speed they were having.
00:38:35It's just tough when it sort of happens like this.
00:38:38Not much of your own doing.
00:38:40But that's the risk here.
00:38:41As the leaders go through traffic, you're going to have moments like this where there's just so much congestion.
00:38:44You see the donut on the side of Justin Allgaier.
00:38:47Three of the top seven got damaged.
00:38:49Let's listen to Allgaier Radio.
00:38:53I just don't understand.
00:38:54Like, some of these guys are multiple laps down and they keep trying to jam it in there.
00:38:58Like, I mean, I was completely clear of him and then he just drove it back in there.
00:39:03Yeah, I should have told you earlier, I think.
00:39:05And I understand his frustration, you know, in this situation.
00:39:11He is turning down.
00:39:12The 45 is continuing to use the lane that he's in.
00:39:15Probably expecting the 7 to be higher on the exit, not quite dime in the corner as much there.
00:39:21But it's tough, you know.
00:39:22Some of those drivers are running multiple laps down.
00:39:24Those cars don't handle well.
00:39:25And I can tell you from experience, when those cars don't handle well, even when you're the leader, you're driving by them, your car is so much faster, it's handling so much better.
00:39:32You can't understand why they're doing the things they do, but sometimes they're in cars, you have to remember, they're just not as fast, not handling well.
00:39:38They're just trying to do the best they can for their race team at that time.
00:39:41Full perspective passing two laps down in the 25th.
00:39:46We'll reset when we come back.
00:39:48Kyle Larson in charge of the field.
00:39:49You know, there are just certain tracks that you go to on the NASCAR schedule.
00:40:01You check out the surroundings, and you would say, this isn't real.
00:40:05You know, Sonoma comes to mind.
00:40:06Phoenix is picturesque.
00:40:08Las Vegas with the Air Force Base back there, right?
00:40:11Very cool.
00:40:11But look at this.
00:40:13I mean, East Tennessee is beautiful.
00:40:15And Bristol Motor Speedway just cut right into the hills.
00:40:19Sort of pops up out of nowhere, too.
00:40:20Does.
00:40:21You come upon it.
00:40:21Yeah.
00:40:21In the hills.
00:40:22And now, Jeremy Clements, Race Fit Health Report, brought to you by BrezTree.
00:40:28I like the music choice here.
00:40:30Early 2000s rocks.
00:40:31What's your favorite early 2000s rock fan?
00:40:33You name one?
00:40:34I'm just going to let you go with that.
00:40:35What did we say?
00:40:36Disturb?
00:40:37Lip Biscuit probably on that?
00:40:38Disturb?
00:40:39Are you talking about my personality or my favorite music?
00:40:41That's what I was thinking about me having to hang out in the booth with you each time.
00:40:43I'm more like this.
00:40:44He's 40.
00:40:45I'm in my 50s.
00:40:46I like the morning walks.
00:40:47You know what I'm saying?
00:40:48That's nice.
00:40:48Yeah, that's more your style.
00:40:51How about Papa Roach?
00:40:53I'm a big fan.
00:40:55Okay.
00:40:55Got it.
00:40:55I'm loading it as soon as we can.
00:40:56That's your new nickname up here.
00:40:58I'd just be better off out there in the pasture with the cows.
00:41:01You know what I mean?
00:41:01I feel right in my heart.
00:41:02That's more your speed.
00:41:03That is more my speed.
00:41:04Give me a time.
00:41:04All right.
00:41:05Pit road is open.
00:41:07We have some takers here.
00:41:09Dylan, take it away.
00:41:11Let's talk about Corey Heim who's been having a nice run so far pitted here on the back straightaway.
00:41:16He felt like that the last run that they had, they needed to go back a little bit more towards the first run that they had.
00:41:22So they've been a little bit free and Corey just said he feels like he can't go anywhere on the racetrack.
00:41:27So trying to get him a little bit more stability in the 24.
00:41:30You also saw that bright yellow Menards Toyota making its way around pit road.
00:41:35That's Brandon Jones.
00:41:36You see him there on the left side.
00:41:38He said still same as the last run.
00:41:39Need a better turn on throttle.
00:41:41Also in Sam Mayer, you see on that right side getting four fresh Goodyear tires and Sunoco fuel.
00:41:47Seven drivers stayed out here.
00:41:49But some of these drivers you see coming in were really good in the running world.
00:41:53There were a few that we knew at pit.
00:41:54Josh Williams got the free pass.
00:41:55He had last pitted at 92.
00:41:58We knew he would pit.
00:41:59Alfredo and Dye had taken the waiver out earlier.
00:42:01We knew they would make pit stops here.
00:42:03Some of those drivers in the top ten.
00:42:05Pressure, tires, track position could make a play.
00:42:08Under caution for the fifth time today at Bristol.
00:42:11It takes out William Swalish.
00:42:13Kyle Larson leading when we get the restart after the break.
00:42:20The Wheatling caution lights are on.
00:42:22Wheatling the official warning lights of NASCAR.
00:42:24And America's most trusted manufacturer of emergency lights and sirens.
00:42:33Kyle Larson has been the dominator today.
00:42:36Started on the pole.
00:42:38Some strategy and an untimely caution kept him from winning stage one.
00:42:43Stage two, he ran out front.
00:42:45He's led a couple of hundred laps today.
00:42:47Won that second stage.
00:42:48And he'll be on the front row with Justin Allgaier as we get this next restart.
00:42:53First, though, let's go to Kim.
00:42:55William Swalish out of the care center.
00:42:57It was a solid day before that incident for you and the team.
00:43:00Walk me through what happened.
00:43:01Yeah, we were just running normal laps and everyone checked up off before.
00:43:05Sucks.
00:43:06For my 18th team, they put in a lot of hard work to make the car good.
00:43:09Today, our GR Supra, Soundgear GR Supra was pretty dang good.
00:43:14It was just fast Xfinity Mobile.
00:43:15So proud to say that.
00:43:16Finally got back on track and unfortunately ended like this.
00:43:19But we'll be back at Rocketman.
00:43:20That about sums it up pretty quickly.
00:43:26Exactly what happened.
00:43:27You know, they were sort of in their own zone, minding their own business.
00:43:30Turning good laps in seventh place.
00:43:31But that checkup happened and you can only react so fast.
00:43:33It's just so hard to slow these 3,400-pound cars down in such a short span that you have
00:43:39here at Bristol when things sort of pack up and get congested.
00:43:42So now they do the choose.
00:43:44Allgaier is kind of pulling up there next to his teammate.
00:43:47And I misunderstood his aggression under caution.
00:43:50We've done the choose now.
00:43:51Front row for the 17 and the 7.
00:43:53Jesse Love in a really good spot.
00:43:55Look at row 3.
00:43:56I mean, we continue to sing his praises.
00:43:59But there is the 26 of Dean Thompson.
00:44:02Such an impressive run.
00:44:03Really, really impressive.
00:44:05Such a big boost for this team.
00:44:06And he started off the year really solid.
00:44:09They had a couple bad races.
00:44:11But now getting back to what we saw earlier in the year.
00:44:14And I just think for Sam Hunt racing, this is so big.
00:44:16I love that race team and Sam Hunt.
00:44:17All he's doing as a young owner.
00:44:19In his early 30s competing against some of the stalwarts of this sport.
00:44:22It's really awesome to see.
00:44:24Brandon Jones, Sam Mayer are going to be the first drivers that we see that came down pit
00:44:28road at lap 220 and got their last set of tires.
00:44:32The field is set for the Echo Park restart zone.
00:44:35This time, Larson jumping from the outside lane.
00:44:38But maybe once again, Allgaier good down low.
00:44:41There's a better restart than last time.
00:44:42But Justin Allgaier has got it hooked up on the bottom.
00:44:44Larson clears them through one and two.
00:44:46But still really impressive restart by Justin Allgaier.
00:44:49Jesse Love, fourth in his Bristol debut last year.
00:44:52Third right now.
00:44:54He's been really the only one up there that could break up that Junior Motorsports, Hendrick Motorsports juggernaut at the front.
00:45:00He works his way through the field throughout this race.
00:45:04Looking really sporty up top right now.
00:45:07Trying to use that to get the momentum on Justin Allgaier.
00:45:09Dive to the bottom.
00:45:10Allgaier is loose.
00:45:11Did you see that?
00:45:12What a nice save by Allgaier off the corner.
00:45:15But that loss of momentum.
00:45:16Open the door for low down low.
00:45:18He's got contact.
00:45:21Jesse decides to go back to the top.
00:45:22Try and run it back again here using the momentum.
00:45:25Back down to the inside.
00:45:29The momentum was incredible off the corner.
00:45:31You said it.
00:45:33Love goes high to low and trying to jump inside of the seven.
00:45:36Can't do it here.
00:45:37Meanwhile, Larson's starting to drift away at the front.
00:45:40And Justin's gotten the message.
00:45:41Goes to the top there in three and four.
00:45:43Does the same line.
00:45:44Trying to block that off for Jesse Love as he sticks to the top here.
00:45:47in one and two as well.
00:45:49He got the message after two attempts.
00:45:50And those massive runs of Jesse Love.
00:45:52He had to run up top as well.
00:45:56Carson Quapel having a good day.
00:45:58Coming off a great outing last Saturday at Darlington.
00:46:01Team has been really, really good in the last few weeks
00:46:04when you look at their climb in the points.
00:46:07He's got a feel for the cockpit tracks.
00:46:09Oh, he does.
00:46:09That's becoming evident.
00:46:10Well, I mean, I go back.
00:46:11And we talked about this earlier today during practice.
00:46:14But I go back to last year, about a year ago.
00:46:17He's still early in his career.
00:46:19He goes to Dover.
00:46:20Who goes to Dover and has success when they have limited experience?
00:46:25And Quapel, if not for some untimely cautions and some craziness late,
00:46:30would have won that race.
00:46:32Really amazing.
00:46:33And, you know, it's been so fun talking to him because he's just so laid back,
00:46:36so chill all the time.
00:46:38Just nothing fazes him.
00:46:39So I'm not surprised at some of these most intense racetracks, Dover, Bristol,
00:46:43high speeds, high banking.
00:46:45It just suits his laid back, chill style.
00:46:47He doesn't get too faced.
00:46:48His dad, someone pretty good to lean on when you talk about success at Bristol as well.
00:46:59Travis, 2003 Truck Series champion.
00:47:05Quapel not just getting it done in his first Xfinity trip at Bristol,
00:47:10but he's one of those drivers going for Rookie of the Year.
00:47:12And today they have been outstanding.
00:47:14I mean, we've talked about Dean Thompson.
00:47:16I feel like lately Conor Zilich has been a given regardless of what kind of racetrack.
00:47:20It's hard to call him a rookie.
00:47:21Oh, yeah.
00:47:22Yeah, and great on the road courses, but I think about what he did at Martinsville,
00:47:26winning the pole, leading all those laps, winning a couple of stages,
00:47:29what he's done here today.
00:47:31And don't write off the guys from Kala.
00:47:33You saw on the door Christian Eckes who came from the back.
00:47:37Daniel Dye took a free pass, all of them inside the top 15.
00:47:41We point out Christian Eckes there running in 11th.
00:47:44He's passed 44 cars today.
00:47:46It's, you know, had to come from the back, had that track bar issue in practice.
00:47:53Only got a couple, you know, only had a few laps before going into qualifying,
00:47:56but it's found the speed in that car and has used it effectively to pass through the field.
00:48:01Now he's up to 10th at this time.
00:48:03Justin Bonsignor, modified champion, who's won here in a modified at Bristol.
00:48:13Fourth career start, gets a little high and kisses the wall.
00:48:17You wouldn't get away with that in a modified.
00:48:19No, you would not.
00:48:21He was looking forward to this one, for sure.
00:48:24I talked to him yesterday.
00:48:26He's just having a blast being in the Xfinity Series.
00:48:28You know, he knows it's been so successful in modified,
00:48:31but just having so much fun learning these Xfinity Series cars,
00:48:34going to some of these tracks, and racing the Xfinity Series.
00:48:37There's 60 laps to go.
00:48:39Marson, Allgaier, Love, Quapples, Sammy Smith, the top five.
00:48:44We're getting down to it at Bristol.
00:48:48Don't miss your chance to race for the million.
00:48:51Finalists, are you ready?

00:49:36Time machine.
00:49:37You gonna go back and see how the pyramids were built or something?
00:49:39Nope.
00:49:40Ellen and I want to go on vacation,
00:49:41so I'm gonna go back to last week and buy a winning lottery ticket.
00:49:44Can I come?
00:49:45Only room for one.
00:49:47How am I getting home?
00:49:48Sitting on my lap like last time, Ronald.
00:49:50Fine.
00:49:50But I'm bringing this.
00:49:53All right.
00:49:54Or you could try one of these savings options.
00:49:57The right money moves aren't as far-fetched as you think.
00:50:00There it is.
00:50:00See?
00:50:01Told you it's gonna all work out.
00:50:02Thanks, future me.
00:50:03Why do dude wipes clean better?
00:50:05Because they're extra large.
00:50:07Because they're flushable.
00:50:08Because obviously wet cleans better than dry.
00:50:11Let's watch.
00:50:12The wet side clears while the dry just smears.
00:50:15It's just like our butts.
00:50:16Dude wipes.
00:50:17Best clean.
00:50:17Pants down.

00:51:50Inside of 50 laps to go, NASCAR Xfinity Series racing at Bristol.
00:51:54It's been a dominating day for Kyle Larson, putting an exclamation point on what has already been an unbelievable season
00:52:01for Team Chevy.
00:52:02It really has.
00:52:03And Junior Motorsports has been sort of the highlight of this in the speed category.
00:52:07Just speaking to everyone in the series this week, the talk of the town is this speed that Junior Motorsports has each and every week.
00:52:13It doesn't matter what track type.
00:52:14And it reminds me of 2022 Junior Motorsports.
00:52:17When you look back at that season, they had some really dominant performances.
00:52:20They were just so much faster than the field at times.
00:52:23And so they've really got things working for them right now.
00:52:26The great group of young drivers and the veteran at Justin Allgaier with tons of speed.
00:52:32You know, they've won 14 of 18 stages this season as Chevrolet.
00:52:36And you and I talking during the break, at least three of the four they didn't win were some form of strategy.
00:52:43And you take today, you know, Sam Mayer.
00:52:44And I take nothing away from he or what Harrison Burton has done on a couple of times.
00:52:48You are taking what the race gives you.
00:52:50And that's exactly what you should do.
00:52:52They see the big picture.
00:52:53But the reality is it could be an even bigger advantage for Chevy.
00:52:58Mostly good battle between Sammy Smith and Jesse Love.
00:53:01Jesse stayed committed to that top side.
00:53:03We saw him working earlier in the run to get to second place.
00:53:07Sort of faded back a little bit here as we've gone later in the run.
00:53:10But using it really well and running the top side well.
00:53:13Seems to have great momentum off the top when he runs up there.
00:53:19A second-year driver in Love.
00:53:21A third-year driver in Sammy Smith.
00:53:24And both doing a nice job here today.
00:53:27That's what's great about this racetrack.
00:53:29If your car's a little bit loose, you can move up and sort of allow it better exits at times.
00:53:33If it's tight, sometimes it will turn a little better up top through the center.
00:53:37So it's just trying to find where your race car works.
00:53:40Be versatile.
00:53:41Find ways to make speed.
00:53:44Don't be locked into one way of doing it because it can change in an instant.
00:53:48And lap by lap, it can be different.
00:53:50They're racing for position.
00:53:51They are here as well.
00:53:5388 is Connor Zilich.
00:53:55Then you've got Dean Thompson there in the seventh position.
00:53:58Let's do a little through the field.
00:53:59We start with driver 26.
00:54:01Here's Kim.
00:54:02Yeah, and actually, Dean Thompson and Brandon Jones kind of battling for that seventh and eighth position.
00:54:09But starting with Dean Thompson, what a run for them.
00:54:11Their goal has been to unload better, to point their weekend in a better direction.
00:54:15And they've certainly done that this weekend.
00:54:18Dean Thompson saying that the car's solid.
00:54:20Doesn't want any changes the last stop.
00:54:22Just a little snug but overall comfortable.
00:54:24As we look at the 20 of Brandon Jones, who now sits in that seventh position,
00:54:29coming off that Darlington win that broke a 98th race winless streak.
00:54:33The goal was to get into the top five and to stay in the top five.
00:54:37They've been flirting with the top five all day.
00:54:39Not quite there yet.
00:54:40They did take advantage of that last caution.
00:54:42Put on some fresh tires.
00:54:44Got their balance back to a little bit more neutral, Dylan.
00:54:46Yeah, this group has been shuffling spots.
00:54:48Christian Eckes has moved into the eighth position in the 16.
00:54:52Great recovery day for them.
00:54:53Broke a track bar mount in practice.
00:54:55Had to start at the back of the field.
00:54:56Last week at Darlington, they were intentional with a team mindset shift.
00:55:01Had top three speed.
00:55:02Finished seventh.
00:55:03But things were definitely better than they have been at the start of this year.
00:55:07That's continued.
00:55:07This is a really strong run for Eckes in the 16, Kim.
00:55:11As things continue to shuffle, we look at Ryan Seen.
00:55:13Currently in that eighth position.
00:55:16Did a great job in that first stage.
00:55:18They stayed out to get good stage points.
00:55:20And he's finished top three in the last three Bristol races.
00:55:24And they came, remember, with a package close to what Cole Custer won here last fall.
00:55:29That team has the affiliation with cost factory team.
00:55:32Ryan has a ton of laps here.
00:55:34Very confident.
00:55:35Dylan.
00:55:36Corey Heim is at the back of this group racing with Christian Eckes now for the eighth spot there
00:55:40in the 24 car.
00:55:41He's a winner here in the NASCAR trucks.
00:55:43But he said the big difference in running here in the Xfinity Series versus the trucks
00:55:47will be the amount of rubber laid down.
00:55:49The trucks generally don't lay a ton down, at least up top.
00:55:51So he said when it gets laid down today, I'm going to have to learn how to adjust to that.
00:55:55He's done that well today.
00:55:56Been inside the top ten.
00:55:58This is his last scheduled race in this car for this year.
00:56:00Hoping for more.
00:56:01But if it's not, I want to stand on a good note, Kim.
00:56:04And as we look at Sam Mayer currently running in that 11th position, the stage one winner
00:56:08after staying out, getting that track position early.
00:56:12And again, this was another team that came with a setup that mimics that double zero from
00:56:16the fall race.
00:56:17But this week it was much cooler.
00:56:18So Jason Trincheri and the crew chief told me it was all about staying up with a racetrack.
00:56:23No big swings in terms of balance for Sam.
00:56:25It's been pretty decent all day.
00:56:27They've just lacked a little bit of pace.
00:56:29As we look at Daniel Dye in the 13th position, a solid day for this team who's been looking
00:56:34for a good finish.
00:56:36And they've had an average finish over the last three races that leads all the rookies.
00:56:40I asked him what his goal is today.
00:56:41He said hopefully finish top ten.
00:56:43Right now they're just outside that, sitting in the 13th position.
00:56:46He just needs the front to turn a little bit better after the last adjustment.
00:56:51Although right now, just radioed in to say the balance seems decent.
00:56:55You know, we started that conversation talking about Dean Thompson.
00:56:58And he's drifted back here.
00:57:00And the one thing I noticed about all the guys that have gone around him, they're the
00:57:03drivers that pitted at lap 220.
00:57:06Maybe the tire's starting to give up a little bit for Dean Thompson.
00:57:10And we focus on the race lead.
00:57:12You know, I know Kyle Larson needs to take care of his equipment at this stage, 29 to go.
00:57:16But he has not driven away from Allgaier since we got this restart.
00:57:221.2 seconds the advantage.
00:57:23And I want the viewers to know we're not trying to sell him some spoiled meat here or something.
00:57:27This is for real.
00:57:28We're now 47 laps into this run.
00:57:31And Allgaier's only 1.2 seconds back.
00:57:33In the prior two stages, that was 5 to 7 seconds by this point.
00:57:38So he has definitely worked on that race car and kept him far more in touch.
00:57:42You know, as we've gone later in the evening here, the track has changed.
00:57:45It's gotten cooler.
00:57:46That could maybe come in the hands of the 7 a little bit.
00:57:48So it doesn't seem like Larson's as dominant as he was before.
00:57:52He could be taking care of that race car a little bit.
00:57:55But Justin Allgaier is definitely keeping him in check.
00:57:57You know, being just 1.2 back here, catching traffic the wrong space, catching traffic two or three wide,
00:58:04and slowing up, Kyle Larson, Allgaier could be there in a lap.
00:58:07I just go back to when he raced in Miami.
00:58:10Dominates, has a huge advantage after winning stage two, at least 132 laps.
00:58:15But we get the caution late.
00:58:17We get a restart.
00:58:18He gets bottled up.
00:58:20Justin Allgaier takes advantage and gets the win.
00:58:23So, while it's hard to think right now that Allgaier's going to drive back up there
00:58:27when you consider how good Larson has been, especially over the long haul,
00:58:31don't rule out a yellow flag that could change everything here today.
00:58:35And Justin wanted to dash for cash on that thing as well.
00:58:37He did, yes.
00:58:39And he's in position to win it again today.
00:58:43Well, you look at Larson and the weekend he had at Miami.
00:58:47Wanted to do the triple then.
00:58:48Larson did it all but Saturday, second last night in the truck race.
00:58:55And outstanding here today.
00:58:58Zilich back in the 11th spot right now.
00:59:03You see a lot of these cars packed up here, too wide for four or five cars.
00:59:10This is the sort of thing, if you're Larson or if you're Justin Allgaier trying to catch Larson,
00:59:14this is what you're hoping Larson will find eventually, is a pack like this, too wide.
00:59:17He has nowhere to go, has to slow down.
00:59:20That gives Justin Allgaier the chances.
00:59:22We also have Carson Quapel right there in the back of Justin Allgaier using the top effectively.
00:59:28Hey, this is a long run on tires.
00:59:30And we saw this a little bit last night in the truck race.
00:59:33I mean, you could just kind of really fall off late in a run.
00:59:37And some compromise with drivers that pitted at lap 176.
00:59:41First, those drivers that came at 220.
00:59:42Both these drivers pitted last time, lap 176.
00:59:46And Quapel is all over Allgaier for second.
00:59:50Use the top to get the momentum to dive down to the bottom.
00:59:52It would be tough to complete this pass.
00:59:56This late in the run, but if he's able to use some of that mid-corner speed,
00:59:59not quite here off of four.
01:00:00And despite the fact that they're racing for position and doing it quite aggressively,
01:00:08there's still only a second and a half back of Kyle Larson with 18 to go.
01:00:14And Kyle Larson's catching some heavy traffic at this time as well right now.
01:00:17So you see him right there trying to get by the 14, having to check up on the bottom.
01:00:23There's a couple more cars in front of him that have been side-by-side at times.
01:00:26So, and then he's going to catch a large pack of cars ahead of that as well.
01:00:30So that can give, the one and the seven can sort this out.
01:00:33It may give them the opportunity to catch Larson here as he gets in that traffic.
01:00:36You see that big group of cars up ahead of him.
01:00:40Going to hit 15 laps to go this time around.
01:00:43Four minutes to go in the race if you do it by the stopwatch.
01:00:47And here he enters this mess.
01:00:52Where do you go now?
01:00:55And how aggressive are you?
01:00:59If you're off, you're back on him.
01:01:00The 25 of Greg Van Oost.
01:01:0451 is Jeremy Clements.
01:01:06He's putting him a couple of laps down.
01:01:10They're even three wide in that next pack ahead of him.
01:01:13How about he's going to drive by the 20th and 21st place car and put him two laps down.
01:01:22Nothing surprises me in this one.
01:01:24And he's been incredible.
01:01:25But he's got to finish it.
01:01:271.3 seconds the advantage.
01:01:30We got 13 to go, Dylan.
01:01:33And it's going to come down to execution,
01:01:35which is what crew chief Adam Wall told me was going to be the difference maker today.
01:01:38He said, we are ready to win between the three second place finishes,
01:01:42not including that fourth at Homestead where they dominated.
01:01:45Adam said, we feel like we have done everything in our power every weekend to do it.
01:01:50We just haven't got it done yet.
01:01:51So he said, all the execution things still have to happen.
01:01:54We don't need another late yellow.
01:01:55But I feel really good about this one.
01:01:57Oh, contact behind Larson.
01:01:58That's exactly what they don't need.
01:02:00But this would be Adam Wall as crew chief's first Xfinity win.
01:02:03So, you know, Larson would like to get that for him, too.
01:02:05It would be two weeks in a row that a crew chief got their first win.
01:02:09Sam McCauley last week with Brandon Jones.
01:02:11Adam Wall trying to do it today.
01:02:13And Justin Allgaier has cut about two to three tenths out of that lead here
01:02:16just in the last couple laps as he sifts through this traffic.
01:02:19It's starting to get single file ahead of him,
01:02:20which will give him the opportunity to maybe get through it a little bit quicker.
01:02:23But this is the opportunity if you're Justin Allgaier
01:02:25and you've got anything left, it needs to come right now.
01:02:33Look at a little contact.
01:02:34That could have been a caution.
01:02:37Larson might need to take Clements to dinner.
01:02:40That was a nice little save there that could have brought out the caution
01:02:43and changed everything.
01:02:46Brandon Jones on those fresher tires making the climb leg.
01:02:50We talk about the fact they wanted to get into the top five
01:02:53and you start thinking about next week and the dash for cash.
01:02:56He's now put himself in position.
01:02:58And trust me, if you don't think you're thinking about that, they know right now.
01:03:05When you see that Larson's leading this thing
01:03:06and it's all explaining regulars ahead of you being the fourth of them,
01:03:10you know that puts you in a dash for cash.
01:03:13Off the corner.
01:03:14It's going to be six to go for Larson.
01:03:20It looked like that last lap, he sort of stopped the bleeding a little bit to Allgaier.
01:03:24Justin got caught in a little bit of traffic.
01:03:26He's catching some of the traffic that Larson was going through just two or three laps ago.
01:03:30And now he's lost about three-tenths to him.
01:03:32It was getting just close to under a second.
01:03:34Justin was making that charge.
01:03:35But now he's caught in the same traffic.
01:03:38He's putting Austin Hill two laps down.
01:03:40The same for Justin Bonsignor.
01:03:43What a day for the 21.
01:03:45We saw how loose his car looked in practice and qualifying,
01:03:49especially in the entry of the corners.
01:03:54Four laps to go.
01:03:55Larson continues to sift through.
01:03:57I think he made the choice there to sort of back off a little bit
01:04:04as he looked at some of the traffic ahead of him.
01:04:07There's no reason to get involved.
01:04:08There's just a couple laps left.
01:04:10That's where the spotter can play such a huge role.
01:04:12Don't force it if you don't have to.
01:04:15This time he's going to drive down inside a hill.
01:04:18He gets by cleanly.
01:04:20He'll see two laps to go this time.
01:04:23Now you just want to get back to the white flag.
01:04:25And no, you don't have any more restarts
01:04:28or anything to think about in regard to strategy and so on
01:04:31when it comes to making pit stops.
01:04:36That white flag, one more good win.
01:04:38Plenty of room out back.
01:04:39One lap to go, sponsored by Credit One Bank.
01:04:44Absolute domination.
01:04:46He's led 275 laps.
01:04:50Dominating win for Kyle Larson.
01:04:53He is brilliant at Bristol.
01:05:04Quapel got second for Justin Allgaier.
01:05:07What a run.
01:05:08Good job, guys.
01:05:09Yeah, great job.
01:05:11Awesome.
01:05:12First career win for Adam Wall on the pit box.
01:05:15And as I watch him celebrate in the Hendrick camp,
01:05:20I think about the week that was
01:05:22and the loss of good friend John Edwards.
01:05:27Stickers on the cars.
01:05:29And he'll be thinking about John in victory lane today.
01:05:32He had room to get to the modern, which is what he did.
01:05:59Second yesterday evening in the Craftsman Truck Series.
01:06:05A winner today.
01:06:07And he'll be one of the favorites here tomorrow.
01:06:10Talk about Quapel getting up to second from Allgaier.
01:06:14Great day for Junior Motorsports.
01:06:15Sammy Smith ended up fourth.
01:06:18Brandon Jones completes the top five
01:06:19as Larson celebrates.
01:06:2216th career win.
01:06:29And the second time he's done it at Bristol.
01:06:38And I think people wonder often, you know,
01:06:40with Cup Drivers coming to the Finney Series,
01:06:42you know, they're held to a limit now.
01:06:44We used to see it all the time.
01:06:45You could kind of see how this field stacked up.
01:06:47But what he did today, what he's done at Miami,
01:06:49shows you why he's a Cup Series champion.
01:06:51and the level of Cup Drivers,
01:06:53the level of what it takes to race on Sundays.
01:06:55He shows that here today.
01:07:04Only 12 drivers finished on the lead lap.
01:07:06Fewest at Bristol since 2019.
01:07:12Larson out of the race car.
01:07:14Let's go to Dillon.
01:07:14Man, and...
01:07:16My life be like...
01:07:18My life be like...
01:07:22A couple dominating performances in a row
01:07:27for Kyle Larson in the 17 car.
01:07:30We talked pre-race about how good you were at Homestead.
01:07:33How motivated were you by ultimately what happened there
01:07:36to come here and back it up
01:07:37but put it in victory lane today?
01:07:38I don't know.
01:07:39I mean, that didn't really factor in at all.
01:07:42Just another really good car.
01:07:43So thanks to Adam Wall and Becker,
01:07:46everybody at HMS for what they do
01:07:48in junior motorsports as well.
01:07:50They're obviously all really fast this year.
01:07:52So it makes it a lot of fun.
01:07:55I just love this place,
01:07:56especially in Xfinity.
01:07:58And you can move around
01:07:59and traffic is just a lot of fun.
01:08:01So just felt like when I could get to traffic,
01:08:04I could get picking people off.
01:08:05But Justin did a good job
01:08:06kind of hanging with me there that last run.
01:08:08So the pressure was on a little bit,
01:08:10but we just had a good enough car
01:08:12to get to the lead, stay in the lead,
01:08:14and be really good in traffic.
01:08:16We talked also before the race about John Edwards.
01:08:18You said there'd be no better way to honor him
01:08:20than by doing exactly what you did today.
01:08:22How does it feel to do this one for him?
01:08:25Damn good, for sure.
01:08:26So, no, it's awesome.
01:08:29I mean, I wish I could have won last night,
01:08:31but just came a little bit short.
01:08:33So cool to get a win, you know,
01:08:35this weekend for John
01:08:37and everybody who's been a part of his life
01:08:40and all that.
01:08:41So we got one more tomorrow.
01:08:43It'd be nothing better
01:08:44than to cap it off with a cup win for John
01:08:46and all of Hendrick Motorsports.
01:08:48And, yeah, just look forward to it.
01:08:49Have a great car there for tomorrow
01:08:51and just got to execute like we did today.
01:08:53He dominated, no doubt about that.
01:08:54Kyle Larson wins at Bristol.
01:08:58Heavy hearts at Hendrick Motorsports
01:09:00for Kyle Larson and everyone
01:09:03a part of that organization this week.
01:09:05But they'll dedicate that checkered flag
01:09:08to good friend John Edwards.
01:09:12Dylan said it, dominating day for Kyle Larson.
01:09:16At the end of the afternoon,
01:09:18he leads 277 of 300.
01:09:22The only driver to lead more at Bristol than Larson,
01:09:24Joey Logano, who's now led 911 laps.
01:09:28Larson, though, so impressive getting it done here today.
01:09:32We're all done in Bristol, Tennessee
01:09:41in another historic venue coming at you next Saturday afternoon.
01:09:45Going back to Rockingham.
01:09:46First time in more than 20 years.
01:09:48NASCAR Countdown Live.
01:09:49Happens at 3 o'clock Eastern time, 12 Pacific.
01:09:52We're racing at 4 o'clock from The Rock.
01:09:56It'll be Parker, myself, and Jamie McMurray,
01:09:59who's won the last four Xfinity races there.
01:10:01We look forward to that.
01:10:02For now, we send it back down to Pitt Road and Kim.
01:10:05And Justin Allgaier comes home third today
01:10:08but takes home the $100,000 Dash for Cash bonus,
01:10:11his seventh career, second this season.
01:10:14In a day where you were so solid but Larson dominated,
01:10:16do you walk away happy?
01:10:18No, I'm frustrated at the day that we had
01:10:22just because this place has been so good for us in the past.
01:10:24Obviously, Kyle did a great job.
01:10:26I was proud of our team,
01:10:28proud of what we unloaded with as a company,
01:10:30GMO Sports, to finish second, third, and fourth.
01:10:33Have a great day like we did.
01:10:34It's hard to be upset,
01:10:35but at the same time, our Jarrett Logistics Chevrolet
01:10:37just needed a little bit.
01:10:40I was pretty good on the short run firing off there
01:10:41and then kind of that middle part of the run,
01:10:43we weren't as good as I'd like to be.
01:10:44But I'm proud of the team.
01:10:45Obviously, winning the Astro Cash is a big deal.
01:10:48And lock three of the four in next week
01:10:50for Junior Mercer Sports.
01:10:51So, you know, those are big steps.
01:10:53Not quite as fast as Xfinity Mobile today,
01:10:55but we got the Xfinity Dash for Cash.
01:10:56So, I think they equal each other out.
01:10:58Either way, I had to ask you off camera
01:11:00where we go next week.
01:11:01I'm so caught up in just each week
01:11:03and being prepared.
01:11:04And this seven team has done such an amazing job.
01:11:06And we can go to the drawing board this week,
01:11:09figure out what Rockingham is going to need.
01:11:10And I'm excited to get back there.
01:11:12A historic racetrack on the schedule.
01:11:13So, we'll have some fun and see what happens.
01:11:16For the ninth straight bristle race,
01:11:18Justin Agro led the laps here at the Coliseum.
01:11:21Dylan.
01:11:22And Kim, it's the second straight top five
01:11:23for Carson Quapel.
01:11:24Comes home in the second spot.
01:11:26So, how'd you get by Allgaier at the end?
01:11:28Seems like you guys just really found something there
01:11:29the last few laps.
01:11:30Yeah, it seemed like our number one
01:11:32high rock Chevrolet on the long runs
01:11:34would really start to take off at the end of a run.
01:11:36And beginning of the runs, we'd kind of hang in there.
01:11:39And towards the end, we'd really start to run them down.
01:11:41So, just kind of used the lapers as a pick there.
01:11:44Got inside Allgaier and had to make him check up.
01:11:46So, these guys brought me a,
01:11:48Connor's fast 630 mobile this weekend.
01:11:51And honestly, I felt like if I would have got around
01:11:53him a little sooner, we'd maybe go for Larson there.
01:11:55All right.
01:11:55Good run for Carson Quapel.
01:11:56It ties his career best finish.
01:11:58runner-up today at Bristol.
01:12:00All right.
01:12:01Thank you, Dylan.
01:12:01And now we do our Xfinity fastest lap today.
01:12:05Kyle Larson was the man.
01:12:08The only thing he didn't win was a dash for cash
01:12:10because he wasn't eligible.
01:12:11That's right.
01:12:11Yeah.
01:12:12I mean, he absolutely was incredible today.
01:12:15By the way, I go back, going to break,
01:12:18and I talk about Joey Logano,
01:12:20something about all-time laps led.
01:12:22This is the most laps led in a single race at Bristol
01:12:25since Logano led every lap 10 years ago.
01:12:28Kind of felt like he did anyway here.
01:12:30It did feel that way.
01:12:31We talk about Rockingham coming next,
01:12:33and the driver's eligible for the dash for cash
01:12:36next Saturday afternoon.
01:12:38It looks like this.
01:12:39Obviously, Justin Allgaier,
01:12:40who won the money here today.
01:12:42There's a lot of junior motorsports flavor on the board.
01:12:44Carson Quapel, Sammy.
01:12:45We have a lot of The
01:13:01games here.
01:13:02Thank you.
