00:00With the Holy Week rush now in full swing, major gateways like the North Ozone Expressway or NLEX are experiencing heavy traffic as travelers head to the provinces.

00:11To give us the latest situation on the ground, including public transport and traffic flow, we now go live to Isaiah Mirafuentes.

00:19Good evening, Isaiah!

00:20Princess, due to the expected surge of motorists, especially this Holy Week season here in NLEX, the management of NLEX has designated counterflow lanes.

00:36To east traffic flow, NLEX has implemented counterflow lanes. Starting at 2pm today, counterflow lanes on the northbound direction are open from Balintawak to Marilau and from San Fernando, Pampanga to Dao, Pampanga.

00:47These counterflow lanes will be accessible until tomorrow, Monday, Thursday.

00:52Meanwhile, on back Saturday, southbound counterflow lanes will open starting at 11am from Dao to San Fernando, Pampanga, as well as from Balagtas to the Bukawi X City.

01:02These lanes will remain open until Sunday, including the stretch from Bukawi to Balintawak.

01:07An additional 10% in vehicle volume is expected to pass through the North Ozone Expressway this Holy Week,

01:12From a daily average of 350,000 vehicles in NLEX, 385,000 vehicles are expected to enter its toll plazas this Lenten season.

01:21A heavy traffic build-up is expected to start today at the toll plazas.

01:25Meanwhile, return traffic to Metro Manila is expected on Monday, April 21.

01:291,500 person are deployed along the length of the North Ozone Expressway.

01:34For instance, you can see behind me now the light traffic here in Balintawak Toll Plaza.

01:43And also, according to the NLEX management, they're urging the public to make sure that their RFID has enough balance to avoid delays.

01:50Although, in all the toll plaza, especially here in Balintawak Toll Plaza, there's still a designated lane for cash lane.

01:57But according to the management of LNX, they're urging the public to install RFID and also to ensure that their RFID has enough balance to make their travel more convenient and faster.
