Matt Maher gives his take as Aston Villa beat PSG on the night - but went down on aggregate.
Trailing 3-1 from the first leg, Villa were 5-1 down before Youri Tielemans pulled one back.
Villa fired out of the blocks, as John McGinn and Ezri Konsa put them within a goal of extra time.
But they couldn't find that elusive goal and bowed out of the competition.

00:00Good evening from the Villa Park mix zone which is where we try and speak to
00:06the players after the game. They've all gone now after what was one of the most
00:10incredible nights that Villa Park has ever seen. The headline is that Villa
00:15are out of the Champions League but what a match. This was truly a
00:20match for the ages. They've gone out 5-4 on aggregate to Paris Saint-Germain, won
00:263-2 on the night and it's difficult to know where to start really. Villa training
00:333-1 from the first leg, knew they needed a big performance and after 27 minutes it
00:37seemed to be a case of how many goals PSG were going to win this tie by. They were
00:412-0 up through Hakimi after a mistake by Emi Martinez and Nuno Mendes of course who
00:49scored last week. A crucial goal as it turns out at the end of the game last week.
00:52Nuno Mendes scored again. PSG are 2-0 up. They're 5-1 up on aggregate. The game is over.
00:58And then Uri Thielman scores before half-time. A deflection off William Pacho beating Gianluigi
01:04Donnarumma and in the second half things went just a bit crazy really. Two goals in two minutes.
01:09John McGinn again with a slight deflection off Pacho to bring Villa back level on the night.
01:14Still two goals behind but then two minutes later Marcus Rashford who didn't have a great
01:18first half home preferred to Ollie Watkins. Beat two men, crossed. Esri Konza scores. Villa back
01:24within a goal. They nearly got back level. Donnarumma saves from Uri Thielman and then
01:32the ball skips through to Marco Asensio of course a PSG player on loan at Villa. Cleared through on
01:38goal. The script looks written. Donnarumma saves again. Villa couldn't find a way through. PSG had
01:43chances to kill the tie. Martinez made up for his earlier era with some big saves. But really I
01:48mean this is one of the most incredible games of football you'll ever see. And as much as the pain,
01:53the defeat will sting for Villa as much as there will be pain. As much as Uri Emery was visibly
01:57frustrated at the end kicking a water bottle. You know this really was proof if any was needed that
02:03Villa are back. And you know they proved tonight that they belong at this level. PSG, a fantastic team.
02:09They may well go on and win this competition. They're one of the best teams in Europe. You know
02:13over the two legs you have to say they deserve to win the tie. But Villa gave them all they could handle
02:18in the second half. And it was so close to taking it to extra time. Luis Enrique, the PSG manager,
02:25giving you know Villa huge praise afterwards. Basically saying that his team, you know,
02:29obviously have knocked out Liverpool as well on route here and you know have been applauded all around
02:34Europe. Have never been dominated as they were in that 10 minute spell after Villa had got it back
02:39to 5-4 on aggregate. So really defeat for Villa. But you're a lot to be proud of. And the key now,
02:45as Emery said in his post-match press conference, they've got to get back into the Champions League
02:49next season. Huge game coming up against Newcastle on Saturday.
