00:03New York State was hit with record-setting snowfall in what Governor Hochul called a
00:07once-in-a-generation storm. And in Fort Lauderdale, Florida recently, they received a one-in-a-thousand-year
00:13rainfall, flooding its streets and homes. But now, across the Midwest, many states have confirmed
00:18tornadoes, some of which were deadly, and they all happened on the same day. In Iowa, Kansas,
00:24and Oklahoma, some 11 tornadoes are reported to have touched down. Oklahoma was the hardest hit
00:29of the bunch, with towns across the state dealing with eight of them. Cole, Oklahoma had perhaps
00:34the worst, with Axios reporting. A large and extremely dangerous tornado traveled across
00:39the state at speeds of 30 miles per hour, which in the hours immediately following the storm,
00:44left 16,000 homes and businesses without power. And these storms were the deadliest since 2013 as well,
00:50killing at least three people. Authorities are still assessing the extent of the damage,
00:54but experts say the storm system hasn't expired just yet. Many Americans are still at risk,
01:00as the spring tornado season is still just beginning.
