00:00All right, so Scotty, I know you like Scotty in the tournament, but not to win.
00:03He was not on your main card here.
00:05He is plus 400 to repeat.
00:09And, you know, Jack Nicklaus won back-to-back.
00:11Nick Faldo, of course, everyone remembers the run that Tiger Woods went on.
00:15I don't think there's any question that Scotty's going to be in contention here, Brady.
00:18But I guess let's just ask you point blank.
00:21Why was he not your winner this year?
00:24Well, it's probably twofold.
00:27You know, the start that he's gotten off to this season, it hasn't certainly been awful at all.
00:33It's just not like what we're used to seeing out of Scotty Scheffler the past couple of seasons.
00:38Of course, he had a delay with the injury to his hand and had to, you know, sit out for a month or so before he got started.
00:46And really quite hasn't found that rhythm just yet from what we've seen so far on the PGA Tour.
00:53And then just the history of a defending champion.
00:56Like you said, you know, Faldo, Woods, and Nicklaus are the only guys, I believe, to ever repeat as Masters champions.
01:04And beyond that, it's not only that they typically don't repeat, they typically don't even do that well in the follow-up season.
01:12Now, it's a little different from Scotty because this is the second time he's been the defending champ.
01:17So he's kind of used to this situation.
01:19But last year was a perfect example with Jon Rahm.
01:23You know, after you win the Masters and then you come down Magnolia Lane defending your title, there's so much more attention.
01:30You know, planning the champions dinner and the TV interviews.
01:33And, you know, it's a different kind of environment versus when you haven't won it before and where your focus lies and the lack of distraction versus the new responsibilities.
01:44And like I say, Scotty, a little bit more experienced with that type of thing.
01:48But that's really the reason.
01:50And then you've got the short price.
01:52And I have bet Scotty before at very short prices before, sometimes successfully, sometimes not.
01:58But I just didn't feel that this was the right time.
02:01In fact, both he and Rory, where their prices were, I could have seen them probably a little tick or two higher before I felt that that was really a good number.
02:11Scotty at, you know, four to one, Rory at six to one.
02:15Scotty probably should have been, in my mind, more like six or seven and maybe Rory eight or nine.
02:20And that would have been a number where, OK, I'm going to think about this.
02:23But it was too short where they went for me pre-tournament.
