00:00Taiwan's opposition Guomindang has asked the government to increase its aid package for
00:04local industries to offset Trump's 32 percent levy on Taiwanese goods.
00:10Guomindang chair Eric Chu said the proposed 2.7 billion US dollar package is far from
00:16enough to help businesses cope with the tariffs.
00:19He suggested increasing it to at least 6 billion US dollars.
00:23Chu said the money saved from the legislature's budget cuts this year can be used to finance
00:29the package.
00:30The ruling Democratic Progressive Party says it supports the increase, but that budget
00:34cuts cannot simply be reversed.
00:37It comes as President Leitschinger's administration tries to pass the aid package in an opposition-led
