00:00The Chibi News Daily Reflection
00:04Hi everybody, my name is Reverend Nimsabungay and I'm the pastor of Freedom's Ark in Tottenham, North London.
00:12During Lent, I want us to reflect on John chapter 12, verse 1 to 8.
00:18We're told of how Jesus comes into Lazarus' home and Mary takes this very expensive perfume
00:27and begins to anoint the feet of Jesus.
00:31And then we find Judas Iscariot who gets upset and says,
00:36why is she spending such expensive perfume washing the feet of Jesus
00:41whereas it could be spent giving it to the poor?
00:44But the scripture points out that in reality, his heart was not really for the poor,
00:49but he was a thief and he wanted the money for himself.
00:52And it's often that we get caught up with wrong motives in asking for certain things
00:58and it reflects that so strongly with what happens with Judas.
01:02We get distracted with the, instead of focusing on the main thing, which was worship,
01:09he got focused on self.
01:12Whereas God calls us to worship in spirit and in truth
01:14and not get caught up with the distractions of this life,
01:17but focus on how we can serve Jesus in spirit and in truth
01:22and truly give the best of ourselves to the Lord Jesus Christ.
