01:05Venezuela.
01:06We begin with the news, stay with us.
01:19In Ecuador, the National Electoral Council carried out this Sunday a simulation of the
01:27second round of the general elections to be held on April 13.
01:30During the process, the National Electoral Council will test the scrutiny procedure and
01:35will be able to determine the time it will take to record the votes in the second round,
01:39as well as to determine the time at which the entry of the scrutiny data will begin.
01:44At present, the distribution of the electoral packages, with documents and materials to
01:47be used in the second round of voting on Sunday, April 13, has already concluded in
01:5214 provinces and in three districts abroad.
01:56More than 13.7 million Ecuadorians are summoned to the polls this Sunday to elect their president
02:00for the 2025-2029 term.
02:11Also in Ecuador, presidential candidate for the Citizens' Revolution Party, Luisa Gonzalez,
02:16advocates for the right to education, health and social justice as part of her speech.
02:21In her presentation in Esmeraldas, Luisa Gonzalez unveiled the model of a new university campus
02:26with student residence and sports areas, so that more young people will be able to access
02:31quality higher education.
02:33The candidate for the Citizens' Revolution Party assured that she is where she is thanks
02:37to public education, scholarships and educational credits.
02:41In a massive evening rally, Gonzalez also acknowledged the daily pain of Ecuadorians
02:45due to the risk of wandering the streets of the country and announced that insecurity
02:50has become normalized.
03:00In other news, in Ecuador, the Citizens' Revolution Party demanded the government provide
03:03proof that the Sacha oilfield concessions was revoked.
03:07The leftist party demanded the Ministry of Energy to send to Parliament and to the Commission
03:12of Radicalization the official documentation that certifies the effective repeal of the
03:16resolution that adjudicates the Sacha field.
03:20In this sense, they denounced that the document has not been formally eliminated by the Ministry.
03:25Citizens carried out multiple demonstrations in projection of the projects on the Sacha
03:28field promoted by the Ecuadorian government to hand over the management of the oil enclave
03:32to the Chinese-Canadian consortium Sinopetrol.
03:44And this Sunday marks the first anniversary of the raid on the Mexican Embassy in Quito
03:48by Ecuadorian special forces to kidnap former Vice President Jorge Glass.
03:53The act, ordered by the government of Daniel Loboa, was a violation of international diplomacy.
03:58Ecuadorian forces broke into the premises, violating Mexican diplomatic personnel and
04:02abducting former Vice President Jorge Glass, who had requested political asylum.
04:07This event caused a rupture between Mexico City and Quito and provoked the general rejection
04:12of the Loboa-led executive.
04:14Mexico and Ecuador are currently facing each other before the International Court of Justice
04:19for this case, and next April 22nd, both parties are due to deliver their initial reports.
04:28In Argentina, the General Labor Confederation mobilizes on Wednesday to Congress in support
04:37of retirees' claims and on Thursday's national strike.
04:41On April 9th, from noon onwards, the General Labor Confederation, together with social
04:46human rights and political organizations, will start to gather to accompany the protests
04:50that retirees carried out every Wednesday.
04:52An impressive mobilization is foreseen that will stop the activity in a large part of
04:56the country, and that will become the prologue of the general strike that will take place
05:00from the first minute of Thursday, April 10th.
05:03The retirees have consistently remained protesting every Wednesday against the adjustment policies
05:08of Javier Mele's government, even in spite of the continuous repression by the Minister
05:13of Security Patricia Bulrich.
05:23A former New York prosecutor prepares criminal complaint against Argentine President Javier
05:27Mele over the Libra case.
05:29The former federal prosecutor before the New York Court specialized in fraudulent acts,
05:34Timothy Treanor, prepares a complaint that reaches the Argentine President.
05:38Mele could be indicted in the United States for violation of the Foreign Racketeering
05:42Prevention Act, a federal crime.
05:45The complaint will be the second on U.S. soil for the scam perpetrated last February 14th
05:50after Bulrich's lawsuit.
05:52The difference between the two is that Treanor is preparing a criminal complaint and he places
05:56the President at the center of the scam, while Bulrich's lawsuit is a civil one and only
06:01mentions Mele as a mint coin promoter.
06:12Venezuela received a batch of 30,000 doses of polio vaccine from Cuba.
06:16According to the Minister for Health Magaly Gutierrez, the shots are intended for newborns
06:21and children under five years of age, in order to continue strengthening the expanded
06:25program of immunization.
06:27She pointed out that in spite of the economic blockade the country is facing, the government
06:30continues to ensure the necessary doses to protect the health of children.
06:34The shipment arrived at the Arturo Michelena International Airport, Carabobo State.
06:49We now have our first break coming up.

06:54Welcome back.
06:55In the United States, massive protests took place in all 50 states against Trump's policies,
07:12including his handling of Social Security benefits, layoffs across the federal workforce,
07:16attacks on consumer protections, denigrating anti-immigrant policies, and recent tariffs
07:22imposed by the government on a long list of countries around the world.
07:25Let's see more details in the Farrow Wind Project.
07:29In Florida, hundreds of citizens rallied at Palm Beach Garden near Trump's golf course,
07:36shouting slogans against the president and his policies.
07:40Likewise, in Georgia, hundreds of people protested in places such as Woodstock and
07:46Pittmuck Park, where participants raised their demands for protection of health care, Social
07:52Security, civil rights, and education to the state capitol building.
07:58In Kansas, protesters held a rally at the Country Club Plaza as part of nationwide demonstrations,
08:07marking the second consecutive weekend of local protests against the Trump administration.
08:14In these regards, in Massachusetts, thousands rallied on Boston Common with signs reading
08:21Hands Off Our Democracy, Hands Off Our Social Security, and Diversity.
08:27Likewise, in Minnesota, multiple citizens gathered at the local capitol in agreement
08:34with the anti-Trump forces that gathered in various parts of the country.
08:39Those attending the demonstration noted that it was one of the largest rallies in the state
08:44in recent memory.
08:46In New York, thousands of people marched through downtown Manhattan against the Trump administration,
08:52mobilized with Palestinian and LGBTI flags, and signs with phrases like Take Your Hands
08:59Off Our Jobs, directed especially against the president and tycoon Elon Musk, who was
09:05one of the main actors in the neoliberal policies of the U.S. government.
09:10On the other hand, in the state of Rhode Island, the demonstration that took place in Providence
09:16began its route at Hope High School and headed to Kennedy Square.
09:21This demonstration was part of a nationwide movement called Hands Off.
09:28In this context, hundreds of people gathered at City Hall in Houston, Texas, in rejection
09:34of Trump's and billionaire Elon Musk's measures on government downsizing, the economy, immigration,
09:41and human rights.
09:43Finally, in the capital Washington, D.C., more than 150 groups, including civil rights
09:50organizations, labor unions, LGBTQ plus advocates, veterans, and election activists gathered
09:59near the Capitol and the White House.
10:01Many of the attendees were federal employees recently laid off because of Musk's plans.
10:12Italian citizens took to the streets in rejection of the European Union's rearmament plan to
10:15increase military spending in member states.
10:18Italian people have rejected the arms race of the EU and NATO demonstrators demanded
10:23to invest in life and not in death since the struggle for peace is intensifying in Germany,
10:28France, and Spain.
10:29Protesters carry banners with pacifist and anti-imperialist slogans in a forceful message
10:34against the escalation of war in Europe.
10:37Social collectives, trade unions, and left-wing parties denounce that the increase of the
10:40military budget only benefits the armament industry while social rights are being cut.
10:49No to rearmament because we don't need armies.
10:59We already have many armies that need to work, not fight wars.
11:04Therefore, rearmament only serves to create wars.
11:09As a result, we reject this logic, which is harmful to society as a whole.
11:18There are many other things to do, investments that are not being made in many places, not
11:23only in Italy but also across Europe.
11:25Therefore, investing in weapons, since we already have enough, is really not the right
11:30approach.
11:31We are just small drops, but who knows, maybe one day we will succeed.
11:38And in Canada, police evacuated the Ottawa Parliament on Saturday after an identified
11:42man barricaded himself in a window of the building.
11:46Through a press release, local authorities warned that there is a strong police presence
11:49in the area, although it is still unknown if the individuals were armed.
11:53The statement also reported that no injuries have been reported and that police continue
11:57to deal with the individual in this incident, which began shortly before 3 p.m. local time.
12:03Investigators said the man gained unauthorized access to the East Block of Canada's Parliament
12:08on Saturday afternoon and barricaded himself inside the building amid the preparation for
12:12upcoming elections next April 28th.
12:15We now have our second and final short break coming up, remember you can also visit us
12:24on our Facebook page at Televisión Inglés, we'll be right back, don't go away.
12:42Welcome back.
12:51The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees reported that approximately
12:561.9 million people in the Gaza Strip have been subjected to repeated forced displacement.
13:01In a statement shared on X, the agency reported that the collapse of the ceasefire in Gaza
13:05has triggered another wave of displacement, affecting more than 142,000 people.
13:12The agency also reports that over 55,000 people have been killed on the Strip.
13:16UNRWA urged Israel to lift the over a month-long siege to allow unimpeded flow of humanitarian
13:22aid and commercial supplies and to renew the ceasefire.
13:32Also in Palestine, almost 300,000 people have been displaced since Israel broke the ceasefire.
13:37Israeli forces have intensified bombing from the air, land and sea throughout the Gaza
13:41Strip and expanded ground operations resulting in the destruction of civilian infrastructure
13:46and large-scale displacement.
13:48The Gaza Ministry of Health reported on April 4th that Israeli forces have killed 1,249
13:54people and injured 3,022 since Israel resumed its war on Gaza on March 18th.
14:01More than 280,000 people are estimated to have been displaced in the past two weeks,
14:07including about 100,000 people from Rafa in the past few days, according to the site management group.
14:30There is no place.
14:32We hardly found this place and it is dangerous for us here.
14:36We are near the destroyed buildings and we are afraid that stones will fall on our children
14:40and they will be injured.
14:42There is no room for us.
14:46In Palestine as well, the Gaza Health Ministry reported that in the last 24 hours, new Israeli
14:50attacks left 60 dead and 162 wounded.
14:54The organization pointed out that since the resumption of the Syrian occupation attacks,
14:58the number of people killed has risen to 50,669 and the number of wounded to 115,225.
15:07Between January 19th and March 1st, a ceasefire took place in Gaza within the framework of
15:13the agreements with Israel and Palestine, which consisted in the exchange of Palestinian
15:17prisoners for Israeli hostages.
15:19However, Israel resumed its attacks on Gaza last March 18th, blocked the elect power supply
15:25to the desalination plant in Gaza and closed the access to the entry of humanitarian aid
15:29trucks to the enclave, in flagrant violation of the agreements with the resistance movement
15:34Hamas.
15:36In this context, U.S. aggressions against Yemen continue in an attempt to dissuade the
15:47country from supporting Palestine.
15:50Four U.S. attacks targeted the area of Habsin, west of the city of Sadda, resulting in the
15:55death of one citizen and four wounded, according to an initial assessment by Yemeni authorities.
16:00It should be noted that the U.S. aggression targeted a store selling solar energy and
16:05an adjacent house.
16:07In this sentence, the U.S. continues its aggressions in a desperate attempt to stop aid to Gaza,
16:13while Yemeni armed forces continue attacking Israeli targets in occupied Palestine, as
16:17well as the U.S. aircraft carrier Truman and enemy warships in the Red Sea.
16:30And on Saturday, in Israel, thousands of demonstrators gathered in the streets of Tel Aviv to carry
16:34out a weekly demonstration where they demand to the Benjamin Netanyahu's regime an immediate
16:39ceasefire in Gaza and the release of all Israeli hostages.
16:43Demonstrators demanded the release of the remaining 59 hostages.
16:46In this context, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has reiterated its position
16:51to release the Israeli hostages on condition that Netanyahu orders the withdrawal of Israeli
16:55forces from the enclave and the release of Palestinian prisoners.
16:59The situation in the region remains complex, and the demands of demonstrators reflect the
17:04urgency of finding a solution that guarantees security and rights.
17:16Meanwhile in Sudan, paramilitaries reportedly killed more than 100 civilians in two weeks.
17:21The Emergency Lawyers Association accused the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces
17:26of committing widespread violations against the enclave citizens.
17:30The human rights organization disclosed in a statement that the clashes that took place
17:33in that area from March 20 to April 2 ended the lives of 100 civilians, some of whom were
17:39executed by the paramilitary.
17:41The commission indicated that the paramilitary group attacked and assaulted homes, killing
17:45those inside them in a flagrant violation of human rights and international law.
17:59In Myanmar, authorities reported a death toll after the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that shook
18:13the country on March 28 rose to 3,445.
18:18Authorities informed that during the removal of debris and the search for the missing,
18:24more than 850 people were injured and 221 missing persons were reported.
18:30The civil defense teams declared a state of emergency in the affected regions, in addition
18:34to requesting international aid.
18:36In this context, the earthquake affected some 17 million people, including 9 million victims
18:41near the epicenter of the catastrophe, and also spread to neighboring countries, leaving
18:4529 dead, 9 injured and 59 missing in Thailand.
18:54In the United States, at least 16 people have been killed by severe storms and tornadoes.
19:03The highest death toll has been reported in Tennessee, where 10 people have died since
19:07Wednesday, including a man and his 16-year-old daughter, after a tornado destroyed their
19:12home.
19:13Meanwhile, in Kentucky, two people have been killed by flooding, a 9-year-old boy who was
19:17swept away by the water and a 74-year-old man who was trapped with his vehicle.
19:22The United States National Weather Service issued Friday a high risk of heavy rainfall
19:26over parts of Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee that will be active through Sunday morning.
19:43In Brazil, Rio de Janeiro is on alert due to heavy rains and strong winds.

19:54southern coast of Rio de Janeiro.
19:56The National Institute of Meteorology issued a severe weather alert for several regions
20:00of Brazil this Saturday, as the volume of rainfall reached 324 millimeters.
20:06Residents are advised to take precautions against flooding and power outages as neighborhood
20:10streets begin to flood and river beaches are disordered.
20:14In Friday and Saturday, the storm caused landslides, floods and river overflows, and
20:18damages were observed in several points of the municipality.
