02:18Jerome Powell.
02:20The data of the agency in charge of the country's monetary policy contradicted the tenant of
02:26the White House.
02:27This Friday, in a new act of interference, the U.S. President ordered a fee that lowered
02:32interest rates so as not to harm the economy.
02:36But the president of the organization does not share the criteria and warns that the
02:41head of state's tariff measures seriously complicate the country's outlook.
02:45Powell assured that since the announcement, they are facing a very uncertain outlook with
02:51a high risk of increased unemployment and inflation.
03:04The losses caused by the tariff implemented by the U.S. administration since last Tuesday
03:09amounted to more than $3 trillion.
03:12These economic measures are already leaving their first consequences on the stock market,
03:18which is the space where financial instances are brought and sold.
03:23According to the calculations provided by financial portals in the country, Wall Street,
03:30the main financial bloc in the U.S. has lost $9.6 trillion since Trump's inauguration.
03:36Likewise, the main stock market's index reports falls.
03:41This is the case of technological Nasdaq, with a total of more than 5,000 companies,
03:48which lost 5.97%.
03:50In this context, analysts warn that Trump's tariff word-up poses a significant risk to
03:58the global economic growth.

04:15the impact of the 25% tariffs on vehicles imposed by the U.S. administration.
04:20The British automotive industry reported that the tariff measures will hit the market hard
04:26and also came at a time when British car makers are struggling with declining demands and
04:31the need to refit plans for a transition to electric vehicles.

05:58U.S. President on Friday announced new 75-day deadline for Chinese technology company ByteDance
06:06to sell their U.S. assets for short video app TikTok to a non-Chinese buyer.
06:11Last year, lawmakers ordered the platform to be divested from China by January 19 or
06:18face a U.S. ban on actual security grounds.
06:21When U.S. President Trump took office in January, one of his first decisions was to extend the
06:26deadline until April this year in order to find a solution that keeps the app functioning.
06:33The potential agreement was negotiated in the Mongolian government due to the president's
06:38tariff announcement, which includes assurances that purchase of TikTok will reduce the tariff
06:45supply to China.
06:52Let's take a very short break, but don't go away because we'll be right back.
07:09Welcome back to From the South.
07:11In Ecuador, the National Institute of Statistics and Census reported that a basic food basket
07:17reached 800 U.S. dollars during March.
07:20According to the report, an Ecuadorian basic salary is over $470 a month, meaning that
07:26in order to have access to basic necessities, at least two salaries are needed.
07:31The Ecuadorian entity details that this index might override a card into the city.
07:36For its part, the United Front of Workers denounces that a basic salary in the same
07:43force is insufficient to cover the basic needs of each family.
07:51In Bolivia, the mining community demands justice after the explosion registered in the middle
08:00of a confrontation between rival groups of gold miners.
08:03The miners' protest comes a day after five people were killed in a drone attack among
08:08the victims, who are pregnant women and a one-year-old baby.
08:11According to a report by the departmental police commander, Colonel Hunter Agudo, the
08:17explosion echoed through the Yani mining camp, where two rival mining groups were disputing
08:24control of the mine near the Serrata, 150 kilometers from La Paz.
08:39Now there was a bomb and a massacre, and our brothers, our comrades are dead.
08:43A baby has died.
08:45Brother, it hurts me what they have done.
08:48We want justice now.
08:50Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro's son Eduardo shocked the nation recently when
08:55he announced he was stepping down from Congress to live in the U.S.
08:59But what is he doing up there?
09:01Our correspondent Brian Muir had the details.
09:05Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, surprised colleagues from
09:10his liberal party last week when he announced on social media that he was taking a leave
09:15of absence from Congress and had fled Brazil out of fear that the federal police were going
09:20to confiscate his passport.
09:22The police later announced he's not under investigation for anything.
09:27Eduardo Bolsonaro fled to the U.S.
09:31This is what happened.
09:32He's become a prisoner of his own fake news.
09:36He said that had to leave because there is a judicial dictatorship in Brazil.
09:41But first of all, he's preparing an escape route for his dad.
09:46Second, he and his father want to convince the U.S. to refuse to recognize upcoming democratic
09:51elections in Brazil.
09:54For years, Eduardo Bolsonaro has served as the primary intermediary between the Bolsonaro
09:59family and its allies with the international far right.
10:03He's credited with bringing the Conservative Political Action Congress, or CPAC, to Brazil,
10:09and many analysts suspect he's going to use his time in the U.S. to strengthen his family's
10:13relationship with the Trump administration.
10:17I believe that the plan behind Eduardo Bolsonaro's flight to the United States and his leave
10:21of absence from Congress is to strengthen a future scenario in which he can run for president.
10:27The international far right is already working towards this.
10:30Republican party lawmakers and their allies in the media have been pushing for the Trump
10:35administration to issue sanctions against the individual Supreme Court justices responsible
10:40for the investigation against Jair Bolsonaro.
10:43But if Eduardo jumps into the fray during his time in the U.S., he could end up with
10:47his own legal problems.
10:52If he convinces foreign groups to intervene in Brazil's democratic rule of law to violate
10:58Brazil's territorial integrity, independence or sovereignty, this can represent the crime
11:05of an attack against sovereignty, according to the terms and conditions of Article 359
11:11of our criminal code.
11:16Eduardo Bolsonaro recently told the press that he's working for electoral freedom in Brazil
11:21in the United States.
11:23As he's still an elected official, this puts him on legal shaky ground.
11:29Brian Muir, tell us, sir.
11:31Recife.
11:33The United States bombed civilians in Yemen during a tribal meeting.
11:36Donald Trump released a video of an airstrike against Yemen, claiming that it targeted Houthi
11:43forces.
11:44In this regard, the Yemeni army responded to Trump, stating that the attack was against
11:50the tribal community and that the victims were not military.
11:54The Yemeni army vowed to retaliate against the United States in the face of this new
12:00aggression.
12:21Russian army neutralized 85 servicemen and officers of the Kremlin armed forces in the
12:28city of Krivoy Rog.
12:30The Russian defense ministry reported it launched a missile attack on a location where Western
12:35military units and instructors were stationed.
12:39The ministry points out that in addition to soldiers killed, at least 20 vehicles were
12:44also destroyed.
12:45In its report, Russian military said that in March, at least 5,862 foreign mercenaries
12:52were killed, among them 1,497 from Poland, 561 from Georgia, 491 from the U.S. and 136
13:04from Brazil.
13:06Russia reports ongoing attacks on the nation's energy infrastructure by Ukrainian forces.
13:20The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukraine had attacked energy facilities in
13:27of Bryansk, Belgorod, Molensk, Lipetsk, Chernyshevsk and Warsaw, and the Luhansk People's Republic
13:37at least 14 times in the last 24 hours.
13:41As a result, the supply of electricity to customers in several localities was interrupted.
13:46Despite the existing agreement on the respective energy facilities, for 30 years the defense
13:52agency warned about the increased Kyiv offensive against the Russian energy infrastructure.
14:22Welcome back.
14:23This Saturday, the Red Crescent presented video evidence that leaves no room for doubt
14:28that the Genocidal Troops committed another war crime by deliberately killing humanitarian
14:33workers in Rafa.
14:34The organization attacked the International Red Cross released a video found on the cell
14:40phone of a paramedic present at the site of the massacre.
14:43It shows that vehicles were clearly identified, that humanitarian workers were clearly identified
14:50and that none of the units engaged in suspicious actions at the site.
14:56Commanders claimed after recognizing that it had attacked the humanitarian groups.
15:02The New York Times referred a video and confirmed its veracity.
15:08And now let's listen to some statements about U.N. officials under the Israeli killing on
15:13U.N. workers.
15:37And he recorded the whole event.
15:41His last words before being shot.
15:47Forgive me, mom.
15:50I just wanted to help people.
15:53I wanted to save lives.
15:59And then he was killed.
16:01So you can imagine 15 team members.
16:07What did they go through.
16:11It was an episode.
16:16According to the movement Hamas, the attacks on aid workers exposes the true nature of
16:21Israeli occupation and refutes its misleading portrayals.
16:26Based on the Palestinian resistance, the video is not only a horrific scene, but also
16:32compelling evidence of the brutality of the occupation and the violation of international
16:37laws and conventions in general.
16:39Furthermore, Hamas urged the United Nations to document this crime and refer it to international
16:45courts, adding that this crime is an extinction of long series of operations by Israeli forces
16:51against rescue and civil defense teams.
16:57The international management of the Bat Zib hospital in Gaza Strip warned that health
17:08services are collapsing due to the large number of people wounded by the ongoing Israeli bombardment.
17:13Health personnel reported that the number of victims is extremely high and the hospital
17:19does not have the resources to attend to the emergencies.
17:23In this regard, they reject the closure of the border crossing since March 2nd, preventing
17:29the internal of medicines, medical equipment and support material necessary to face the
17:33crisis.
17:34In this sense, they urge Israel to lift the blockade to alleviate the hospital situation
17:38and to stop the genocidal operation in Gaza.
17:48The UN Agency for Palestine Refugees denounced that over 142,000 civilians were displaced
17:55in the Gaza Strip following Israel's resumption of attacks.
17:59The UN organization condemned the forced displacements experienced by Palestinians due to the intensified
18:05of the bombardment by the occupied troops.
18:08In this regard, the multinational organizations demand that Israeli regimes stop the genocidal
18:15operations and thus contain the deep end of humanitarian crisis.
18:18The Israeli genocide in Gaza has so far led to over 50,000 people killed since October
18:242023.
18:31In Nigeria, more than 40 people were killed, including women and children, in a wave of
18:36violence in the northern state of Plateau.
18:40Authorities confirmed the discovery of 48 corpses in a mass grave.
18:45At the same time, thousands of villagers fled their homes for fear of insecurity.
18:51The region faces a conflict arising from disputes between Hendrons and farmers over land and
18:58resources.
18:59Security forces began investigations to determine any responsibilities in response to the citizens'
19:05demands for solutions to the conflict.
19:11The Arab League condemned the Israeli aggressions against Palestinian territories in Lebanon
19:19and Syria.
19:20The commission questioned the international community's incapacity to stop the systematic
19:26attacks against Arab countries.
19:28It also warned that the invasion of Gaza is aimed at expelling Palestinians from their
19:34land so that the Netanyahu government can move forward with its expansionist plans.
19:49In Spain, hundreds took to the streets to protest against increasing house rents.
19:53Demonstrators marched through the countdown in Madrid to call for a decrease in rental
20:00rates as low incomes make it difficult to pay them.
20:04In addition, they detailed that prices are constantly increasing in cities and coastal
20:10areas of the country, which can affect public services.
20:13On the other hand, visitors and residents presented their concern about high costs and
20:18the spread of short-term layoffs.
20:20Well, I've come to the end of this news brief for Televisión Inglés.
20:31I'm from the south, I'm Ana Marrero.
