00:00and Saturday it is Marcus Stroman going for the Yankees against Bailey Falter.
00:04Sunday it is Will Warren against Andrew Heaney. With the way the Yankees are playing right now,
00:10you'd be nuts to back the Pirates. And generally speaking, I'm fair about this sort of stuff. For
00:14everyone who knows me here on the network for years, but I am not backing Pittsburgh
00:19until I see something different. I agreed here. It's not great pitching for the Yankees either.
00:24Stroman, we'll see. We know he's a five and fly guy at best here, but I don't see how you're
00:29backing Pittsburgh. And maybe no Tommy Pham here. Only question is how many home runs is judged yet
00:33or the Yankees in general. We got the Orioles taking on the Royals. We'll get another look
00:38at Sugano. He's pitching against Michael Wacca of the Kansas City Royals. And then Sunday,
00:42it is Cade Povich against Chris Bubik. Probably advantage Sunday, Kansas City is the only thing
00:48that sticks out to me here. Let's take a look at the over on Sunday. Looks like there'll be
00:53some runs scored there. Sugano, once again, I want to see how he does in his second start. Wacca,
00:57these are all serviceable guys. That's what they are. They're nothing special,
01:01nothing sexy here. So runs should be scoring this weekend for both teams.
01:05Cardinals and Red Sox, speaking of runs being scored, probably a lot more coming this weekend.
01:10Yes, the Cardinals matchup of Palante-Fitz. It seems like every four and five is going this
01:16weekend at baseball. I don't know from looking at this. Palante and Fitz, Saturday and Sunday,
01:22it is Miles Michaelis against Sean Newcomb. Yes, that Sean Newcomb from several years ago is back
01:28with the Boston Red Sox. Yeah, I noticed earlier, one of the things we talked about earlier,
01:33two star pitchers next week, that a lot of them were aces. All right, if you look at that list
01:36here. So that means you're getting a lot of fours and fives this weekend. So yeah, like I said,
01:40it could be a very high scoring weekend, but you want to be careful with the weather here.
01:43All the weather throughout the Northeast, a lot of rain here, including Boston.
01:48We've got the Rays and Rangers going at it. I think that this is very one-sided on Saturday
01:53and very one-sided on Sunday. You have Taj Bradley, who I like a lot, but it is against
01:57Jacob deGrom. You probably would side with Texas. And then on the flip side, based on what we saw
02:02from Kumar Rocker, George, I don't know, man, like that guy's got to get it figured out pretty
02:06quick here, throwing too many right down the middle. I'll probably side with Tampa Bay on Sunday.
02:11I'll agree with you on both parts here, right? And Rasmussen, by the way, he's decent. He's
02:15somebody you could look at picking up here. If they're going to stretch him out and go to the
02:18five innings, six innings, I like Rasmussen a bunch. DeGrom was very good in his first start
02:23here. So maybe he is back to being deGrom, but they're probably going to baby him again today.
02:28Okay. Blue Jays taking on the Mets this weekend. Today, the Blue Jays will start Chris Bassett
02:33against the Mets. We'll see Griffin Canning pitch for them. And then Bevin Francis on Sunday for
02:39Toronto against David Peterson. The only good news for those guys, I don't think either of
02:43those pitchers is going more than five innings, but the good news is, is that usually on Sunday,
02:47everybody just swings at the first pitch. So that's the hope for that, for that game.
02:51Travel day. They got to get out. Got to get out, travel day. With the Mets, it's always about
02:55their starters. Okay. Hey, another guy who's a journeyman, not really a start here. How far can
03:00he go? Got a great start from McGill last night. We'll see what they get from Canning and then
03:03Peterson on Sunday here. Bowden Francis, by the way, he's been really good since he got called
03:08up last year. He seems to take a no-hitter to the sixth inning every game. I like Bowden Francis.
03:14All right. We also on Saturday have Brady Singer going at it with a pretty distinct
03:20favored matchup against Elvin Rodriguez of Milwaukee. And then Milwaukee does like this
03:26pitcher I know a lot, Chad Patrick. He is going to start on Sunday against Carson Spears of the
03:32Cincinnati Reds. Once again, you think runs are coming here, right? But hey, Cincinnati can't
03:37score any. So hopefully they get their offense back on track here. But then once again, this
03:41looks like a higher scoring weekend, but the Reds are in an offensive funk right now. I wouldn't
03:46be backing on them. All right. So the Marlins get off to a great start to their season. They've
03:51fallen back now a little bit, back-to-back losses to the Mets. And then last night to the Braves,
03:56probably the very distinct favored matchups for Atlanta, at least on Saturday. Right now,
04:02it says TBD for the Marlins. I believe that's going to be Cal Quantrill going up against
04:07A.J. Smith-Schoyer. Braves will be again hugely favored. Sunday's TBD is expected to be Sandy
04:14Alcantara. He's the listed starter. If he goes, that would give Miami certainly a chance against
04:20Grant Holmes on Sunday. You know, I obviously do work covering the Marlins on their pregame shows
04:27here, George. I can tell you that the unfortunate part about Miami going into Atlanta this weekend
04:32is they got a very angry team after losing seven games in a row. And sometimes when that happens,
04:37things tend to go sideways. So we'll see what happens this weekend. But I do believe that in
04:42order for Miami to compete this weekend against Atlanta, they're going to have to score runs.
04:46I think the Braves offense has shown nothing until last night. You saw what they can do.
04:52Yeah. You said an angry Braves team, especially how they lost that last game in Los Angeles,
04:55right? Blowing a 5-0 lead with Otani, the game-winning home run. Yeah. So Atlanta,
05:00hey, if things go right, they could be 3-7 at the end of this weekend.
