00:00Filipinos should not worry about the United States' imposition of a 17% reciprocal tariff
00:06on imported goods from the Philippines, according to the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and
00:10Industry or PCCI.
00:13The PCCI explained that while the tariff may cause a slight increase in the prices of affected
00:18products, its overall impact on consumers will be minimal.
00:22The U.S. has already imposed tariffs on imported goods and the additional 17% will be applied
00:28as well.
00:29This means that some previously tariff-free items will now be subject to taxation.
00:34Despite this, the PCCI views the development as an opportunity to improve pricing strategies
00:40for Filipino export goods.
