00:00Hello there, welcome to your Thursday morning weather update from the Met Office. A mix
00:05of cloud and sunshine first thing, and a bit of a breeze coming in from the north east.
00:09Here's your bigger picture. Notice this feature here, it's brought some showery rain overnight,
00:14it's clearing. High pressure sits towards the north of Scotland, casting an influence
00:18over our weather. The air is dry, but with an onshore breeze, things feeling a bit cool
00:23along the east coast, and there will be again quite a breeze today across many areas. Let's
00:29pick up on some detail then. If you're stepping out first thing, you'll see some fine conditions
00:34as we head through this morning, particularly across more eastern areas with a clearer sky.
00:39More cloud across the west country, central southern England, Wales, as well as Northern
00:43Ireland, and one or two sporadic bursts of rain, but they are fading away. At the same
00:47time some low cloud shrouding Pennine districts, and this band of cloud across Aberdeenshire
00:53as well as Caithness, but brighter weather appearing across Shetland. Sunshine here turning
00:59rather hazy through the day. This north to north easterly wind coming down from a cool
01:04direction will affect us as we head through the day. However, during the morning the key
01:09feature is towards the west the cloud will break, allowing for some lovely sunshine to
01:13come through. And most places seeing fine conditions, blue sky and sunny spells through
01:18the afternoon. It's a lovely day to be out and about. In shelter, feeling warm along
01:22this east coast, a little bit fresh with that wind, but even so you'll catch the sunshine
01:27as well. UV levels are on the up, so you may find during the middle part of the day
01:31you could burn if you have fair skin. Temperatures then 22, 23 down towards the southeast, 19
01:36western Scotland, 16 or 17 in shelter across Northern Ireland, 9 or 10 across eastern Scotland,
01:4315 down towards Lincolnshire. Now, through this evening and overnight, notice the cloud
01:50yet again could just drift in from the east. Again, it's a bit chilly in places, even with
01:56a touch of frost, milder conditions towards more southern and western areas, and that
02:00wind continues through Saturday. So a bit more cloud to start the day, particularly
02:05across this eastern side, and it could cling on to the coastline through the afternoon.
02:09Even so, fine for most with some sunny spells and everywhere will be dry. Temperatures then
02:14around 16 or 17 in the west, around 12 in the east. Come Sunday, that cloud could be
02:20stubborn across more eastern and northeastern areas, but again burning back to the coast
02:25through the morning into the afternoon. So most of us will be bathed in some sunshine.
02:30The air is cooler, so we'll see temperatures 9, 10, 11 on this eastern side, further west
02:35coming in around the mid-teens at the very best. But we start next week fine and dry
02:40with some lovely sunshine. Temperatures again around 14 or 15 Celsius, perhaps a little
02:45bit more clouds across western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Have an awesome day. See you later.
