00:00I don't know. But I'm the first buyer. It'll be out in about less than two weeks.
00:08The tariffs give us great power to negotiate. Always have. I've used them very well
00:13in the first administration, as you saw. But now we're taking it to a whole new level. We try and
00:18solve the Gaza problem. It's been a problem for many years, for many, many decades. It's
00:24been a big problem. We haven't. I've met with, as you know, a lot of the hostages. It's a terrible
00:28situation. And we'll speak about Israel. We'll speak about what's going on. That's another thing
00:34we'd like to get solved. And I think we will get it solved. Hello, everybody.
00:42Nice to see you. Hello. I haven't seen you in a while.
00:48Five million. For five million dollars, this could be yours.
00:52That was the first of the cards. You know what that card is?
00:58It's the gold card. The Trump card, gold card. Who's the first buyer? Me. I'm the first. I don't
01:07know. But I'm the first buyer. It'll be out in about less than two weeks, probably. Pretty
01:15exciting. Ready for some questions? Anybody want to buy one? Okay, let's go.
01:24First, we'd love to get your reaction, sir, to what's going on in the financial markets today.
01:29Well, I mean, it's to be expected. We're, this is a patient that was very sick. We inherited,
01:37we really inherited a terrible economy, as you know, with a lot of problems, including
01:42the loss of manufacturing and plants closed up all over the country. You know, we've lost
01:4990,000 plants since NAFTA, if you think of that. 90,000. It's not even believable. And about six
01:58million jobs. And so it's a sick, it was a sick patient that went through an operation
02:04on Liberation Day. And it's going to be, it's going to be a booming country, a very booming
02:11country. It's going to be amazing, actually. We see it because we have trillions of dollars
02:17committed to come in, trillions. Sir, can I ask you, when you say that it was an operation,
02:23and the patient's healthy now, does that mean you see us as kind of towards the
02:27the high water mark in terms of operation? Sure. The operation's over. And now we
02:35let it settle in. You see the plants are starting to construction already. We have many plants.
02:42Indiana, massive auto plant, the Honda, and we have so many, so many plants, and they'll be
02:50under construction. And as they start to build, you're going to see a lot of construction jobs,
02:54and you're going to see a lot of jobs when they open. Does that mean chips and pharma
02:58tariffs are not on the table? They're starting very soon. The chips are starting very soon.
03:05The pharma is going to be starting to come in, I think, at a level that you haven't really seen
03:13before. We are looking at pharma right now, pharmaceuticals. It's a separate category,
03:20and we'll be announcing that sometime in the near future, not too distant future.
03:24That's under review right now. Are you negotiating with partners currently?
03:29What we have is we have a set of tariffs based on what they've been charging us. That's reciprocal.
03:36And those tariffs have come in, and every country's called us. That's the beauty of
03:43what we do. We put ourselves in the driver's seat. If we would have asked some of these
03:49countries, almost most of these countries to do us a favor, they would have said,
03:53no, now they'll do anything for us. But we have tariffs. They've been set,
04:00and it's going to make our country very rich. Are you open to deals
04:04with these countries if they're calling you? Well, it depends. If somebody said that we're
04:07going to give you something that's so phenomenal, as long as they're giving us something that's good.
04:12For instance, with TikTok as an example, we have a situation with TikTok where
04:19China will probably say, we'll approve a deal, but will you do something on the tariff?
04:25The tariffs give us great power to negotiate. Always have. I've used them very well in the
04:31first administration, as you saw, but now we're taking it to a whole new level because
04:36it's a worldwide situation. And it's very exciting to see. And what it's done has driven a lot of
04:45great companies to our country. And you're going to see construction starting all over. I already
04:52got a couple of calls from Lee Zeldin from Environmental. He's got some big plans to approve,
04:58like really big plans. How long will it take to get manufacturing,
05:02American manufacturing, to where you would like to see it?
05:06Let's say it's a two-year process. They start a plant and they're big plants.
05:10We're giving them approval to also, in many cases, to build the electric facility with it.
05:15So you have electric generation and the plant, and they're big plants. Now, the good news is a
05:21lot of money for them and they can build them fast, but they're still very big plants. So
05:25I'd always say it would take a year and a half to two years.
05:29Mr. President, I'm curious. Have you been following the New York City mayor's race,
05:35and specifically Andrew Cuomo is now the front runner, according to the polls.
05:39How do you feel about that? Do you think you could have a good relationship with the mayor,
05:42Andrew Cuomo?
05:43Well, I've always gotten along with him. We had our ins and outs a little bit. We did a great
05:47job for him. Remember, we built the convention center rooms for him. He didn't use them,
05:52unfortunately. And we sent the Mercy ship. We sent the really magnificent hospital ship,
05:59but they didn't use it. But we always had a pretty good relationship.
06:03You're going to make an endorsement in that race?
06:04Well, it's not something I'm thinking about yet. Is he thinking about running?
06:08On Russia and Ukraine, there's a Russian envoy in town for some meetings.
06:13Can you give us an update on how that's going?
06:17We do. We have an envoy from Russia. We're talking about it. We'd like to see that stop
06:21as soon as possible because thousands of people are being killed a week, soldiers, mostly soldiers,
06:28and Ukrainian soldiers and Russian soldiers. And you're losing 2,000, 3,000 sometimes a week.
06:36So we're spearheading the drive to get it done.
06:40Europe has not been successful in dealing with President Putin, but I think I will be successful.
06:47So I want to ask you about the NSC. How many staffers were let go and why?
06:51Your National Security Council, how many staffers?
06:53Oh, there were some. There were some. Always, we're going to let go of people,
06:57people that we don't like or people that we don't think can do the job or people that may have
07:04loyalties to somebody else. You'll always have that.
07:08So you mentioned at Yahoo recently, Israel has now talked about staying in Gaza,
07:13doing long-term occupation. Has anything changed in regard to the U.S.-Gaza-Israel plans?
07:18I spoke to him today, as a matter of fact. And I think he's going to be coming to our
07:23country sometime in the not-too-distant future, maybe next week. And we'll speak
07:28about Israel and we'll speak about what's going on. That's another thing we'd like to get
07:33solved. And I think we will get it solved. But I think he very well may be coming next month.
07:40Benjamin Netanyahu.
07:42Sir, can I follow up on your earlier comment about TikTok? You said that the Chinese might
07:46be willing to agree to approve that sale in exchange for tariff relief. Is that something
07:51that you floated to them or you've heard from them?
07:54I'm just using that as an example. Let's say we had a problem with TikTok and let's say China
08:00wasn't going to approve. They could use tariffs in order to get it approved.
08:05You give them something in return.
08:07What's the update on the deal negotiations for TikTok?
08:10We're very close to a deal with a very good group of people for TikTok.
08:14Is it multiple investors?
08:16Just multiple.
08:17And then do the last-minute bids kind of throw things into disarray for you,
08:21or do you have your strategy completely locked up on who's going to-
08:24Which last minute?
08:25On acquiring TikTok?
08:28No, I think that China maybe will call and say, well, we're upset with the tariffs
08:36and maybe they want to get something a little bit in order to get TikTok approved. Who knows?
08:43I have no knowledge of that, but that's the kind of thing as well.
08:46Can you give us any update on the Palestinian relocation plan? Are we talking to any countries?
08:51We're going to try and solve the Gaza problem. It's been a problem for
08:56many years. For many, many decades, it's been a big problem.
09:00I've met with, as you know, a lot of the hostages. It's a terrible situation.
09:05But if you notice, hostages are being released now.
09:09And that's happened only since I got involved. So we have hostages being released.
09:15Quite a few, actually.
09:16You're still committed to the relocation?
09:18I'd like to get as many hostages as we can.
09:21And then Gaza. Gaza is a very, very important thing. It's been under siege for many, many years.
09:30It's a shame. It's a shame. A lot of people die in Gaza. Gaza's been
09:34a place we haven't. A lot of people die. A lot of bad things happen in Gaza.
09:38We'll see what we can do about it.
09:40What about dinner tonight? Can you tell us about it? Who's going to be there? Any leaders?
09:43So dinner tonight is sort of a — I have a couple of them, actually.
09:48But a lot of it's based around charity. It's at Durell. And we raise a lot of money for charities.
09:56We're going to also have — they're having one of the big golf tournament — professional golf
09:59tournament that they live. And that'll take place over the next few days at Durell from,
10:06I guess, tomorrow till they have — I think they have a pro-am right now.
10:11But I'll be speaking tonight. I think I'm making a speech to the players. Great players.
10:15Some of the best players in the world. And ultimately, hopefully, the two — the two
10:20tours are going to merge. That would be good. I'm involved in that, too.
10:25But hopefully, we're going to get the two tours to merge. You have the PGA tour,
10:28you have the Lyft tour. And I think having that merge would be a great thing.
10:32Mr. President, about the tariffs, do you have any message for the American — for
10:37American businesses that might feel the impact of any reciprocal tariffs coming from the EU,
10:42for example, or from other countries?
10:43It's going to all work out. Remember, there are no tariffs if you build your plant or you build
10:47your product, make your product in the U.S. And so a lot of people — I mean, there's going to be a
10:53transition period because they're going to be building instead of paying tariffs to some other
10:59place. And — but there are no tariffs. You know, if you think there are no tariffs, all you have
11:04to do is build, make your product in the United States. And a lot of people are doing that.
11:10It's — and a lot of people are doing that. The — they're moving, like the auto companies,
11:15I know I spoke to two of the four or five that are really active, and they've already
11:21started moving their parts-making things out of Mexico, out of Canada, and into the United States.
11:27So do you have a sense of how long Elon Musk's mission will last and when he will depart?
11:34Well, Elon is fantastic. And I think it's — you know, he's a patriot,
11:38and I think it's a shame what they're doing with his car company. And a great car — it's
11:44a great car, great product. And it tells you what a patriot he is. He's amazing. No, I mean,
11:50as long as he'd like. I like — I like smart people, and he's a smart person. I also like him
11:56personally. When he endorsed me, that's when I really got to know him. I knew him a little bit
12:00before that, but not much. And then he endorsed me. And it was a very strong, embracing endorsement,
12:06as we all know. And I would say Elon will stay for a certain period of time, and then he's going
12:12to want to get back to his businesses full-time. But he's done a fantastic job. We've found
12:18hundreds of — think of it — just hundreds of — we've found millions of dollars of fraud
12:24and abuse and waste. And they're still going — I mean, they're going strong,
12:31and they're finding — they found something today that's horrible. It's horrible.
12:35So what they found — well, you'll find out very soon — what they found is incredible.
12:40And I give him a lot of credit. He's got some very smart people with him.
12:44Do you think he can finish?
12:45And they're working very closely with our secretaries and our — the people that are
12:48the heads of —
12:49Do you think he can finish?
12:49Or do you think you would appoint him to another position once he's 130 days?
12:53No, I would — I think Elon's great, but he also has a company to run or a number of
12:58companies to run, you know, that he can do this, that he can find the time.
13:02He loves the country. That's why he does it.
13:05But we're in no rush. But there'll be a point at which time Elon's going to have to leave.
13:10So he needs an auto company.
13:12A specific date on when he's —
13:13I would make a few months.
13:16Even when Elon leaves and goes back to being CEO,
13:20will Doge stick around in some kind of capacity?
13:23Yeah. It'll still — Doge? Doge itself? Yeah.
13:28At some point —
13:29What does that mean?
13:30Just so you understand, I don't want to get it wrong.
13:32I want Elon to stay as long as possible.
13:35Number one, I like him. Number two, he's doing a great job.
13:38Number three, he is a patron. That's why he's doing this.
13:41And he's — you know, it's very costly for him.
13:44But — so I want him to stay as long as possible.
13:47But there'll be a point where he's going to have to leave.
13:51And when he does, the secretaries will take totally over.
13:55And Doge will stay active.
13:58Yeah. We have a lot of smart people.
14:00A lot of those people, I believe, are going to go into the agencies.
14:03And they'll work on it from the inside.
14:05You mentioned auto companies that you've been speaking with.
14:08Have you spoken to any executives today?
14:10Yeah.
14:11Who?
14:12I don't want to say who, but I speak to a lot of the auto executives.
14:15But we have much more than autos.
14:16We have chips coming in.
14:18We have steel coming in.
14:19But do they call at you for exemptions?
14:21The steel factories are opening up and expanding at levels
14:25that people have not seen also.
14:27Can you tell us a little bit about your meeting with Laura Loomer
14:31and Mike Waltz today and how that came about?
14:33Yeah. So Laura Loomer is a very good patron.
14:37She's a very strong person.
14:41And I saw her yesterday for a little while.
14:43She has — she makes recommendations of things and people.
14:46And sometimes I listen to those recommendations, like I do with everybody.
14:51I listen to everybody, and then I make a decision.
14:53But I saw her yesterday.
14:56She was at the ceremony.
14:58And she has — she'll always have something to say.
15:01Usually very constructive.
15:03What did she recommend?
15:06She recommended certain people for jobs.
15:09Adding to the administration, not firing?
15:12Well, she'll recommend that, too.
15:14But yesterday, she recommended some people for jobs.
15:17Did she have anything to do with the NSC aides who were ousted?
15:21No.
15:22Did you know how many, sir?
15:24Do you know how many from the NSC?
15:26Was it five, a dozen?
15:28I really don't know.
15:30There were a couple.
15:32Who did Laura recommend hiring?
15:33Well, I don't want to say that, but she's — she's recommended some good people over the years.
15:38She's been — she's been in the party a long time.
15:40She's done a good job.
15:41Do you trust your national security staff is doing what you want them to do?
15:46We've done very well.
15:47We've had big success with the Hooties, as you probably know.
15:52Nobody's been able to do it like us.
15:54And they were shooting the boats out of the water.
15:57They were sinking ships.
15:58That's what they would do.
15:59They're getting a big charge out of sinking ships.
16:03And unfortunately, they're associated with Iran very closely.
16:07So they have to stop that.
16:09But we've hit them very hard, and we've been hitting them very hard.
16:12Sir, did you talk to Congresswoman Luna about her resolution to get maternity —
16:16Congresswoman who?
16:17Congresswoman about her resolution to allow proxy voting for new mothers.
16:23I did.
16:24I did.
16:25And I would say this.
16:27I guess there's two sides to it, right?
16:30It's a little controversial.
16:31I don't know why it's controversial.
16:33I think she's great.
16:35Ana.
16:37I — I — I think that — and I'm going to let the speaker make the decision.
16:42But I like the idea of being able to — if you're having a baby,
16:47I think you should be able to call in and vote.
16:51I'm in favor of that.
16:52But I understand some people aren't.
16:53I'm not involved in the issue.
16:55But I did.
16:56I spoke to Ana yesterday.
16:58And she and some people feel strongly about it.
17:02And I would agree with it.
17:04Yeah.
17:05Sir, you mentioned Iran.
17:06They have come out and said if they're going to sit down with the U.S.,
17:09they want to use an intermediary.
17:11And I believe the U.S. wanted direct talks.
17:13Would you still be willing to talk to them by an intermediary?
17:16I think it's better if we have direct talks.
17:17I think it goes faster and you understand the other side a lot better
17:21than if you go through intermediaries.
17:24They want to use — they wanted to use intermediaries.
17:26I don't — I don't think that's necessarily true anymore.
17:30I think they're concerned.
17:32I think they feel vulnerable.
17:34And I don't want them to feel that way.
17:37And I think they want to meet — yeah, Iran.
17:41They're talking about Iran.
17:42You said you don't think they want to use intermediaries anymore.
17:44Did they send another letter?
17:46Did the UAE let you know about this?
17:48Yeah, I know for a fact.
17:50I think they'd like to have direct talks.
17:53Can you say anything about what the letter said from Iran?
17:55No.
17:56I just think they — I'm just telling you.
17:58I think they want to have — forget about letters.
18:00I think they want to have direct talks.
18:02What can happen on Pete Hicks' end in this IG investigation?
18:06Do you want to weigh in on that?
18:08What is it?
18:08There's an IG investigation into the Secretary of Defense's use of the Signal app.
18:15Oh, is that — you're bringing that up again?
18:16They'll bring that up again.
18:17Your editors, probably.
18:19That's such a wasted story.
18:21So what else?
18:22Chinese farmland.
18:23Do you have some plans for Chinese ownership of farmland in the U.S.?
18:28Oh, we look at that all the time.
18:29And look, I have a very good relationship with China and with the president,
18:34who I have a lot of respect for, President Xi.
18:37So, you know, we look at that all the time, the farmland.
18:39It's been an issue for years.
18:41It's been — people have talked about it for years.
18:43I have a lot of respect for China, and I have a lot of respect for President Xi.
18:47When's the last time you talked to President Xi?
18:50I speak to him — it doesn't matter when, but I speak to him.
18:53So have you talked to Zelensky recently?
18:57Not too long ago, yeah.
19:00How did that go?
19:00Good.
19:01I think he's ready to make a deal.
19:03No progress, though, other than that?
19:05I think a lot of progress.
19:06No, he's — he's ready to make a deal,
19:08and I think that President Putin is ready to make a deal.
19:12Then you'll stop the killing of thousands of young people a week.
19:17Did Kirill Dmitriev say that to your counter — to his counterparts in the U.S.?
19:22Who?
19:23Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian negotiator that's in Washington right now?
19:26I don't talk about specific people.
19:28I just will tell you that there's a lot of good conversation going on about Ukraine-Russia.
19:34Have you given your approval for the U.K.'s deal over the Chagos Island
19:38that Prime Minister Starmer and you discussed?
19:41I'm not sure about it.
19:43And we'll see how that turns out.
19:45We have a very good dialogue going.
19:48And I think he was very happy about how we treated them on tariffs.
19:52Sir, there are — a lot of people were upset about how their —
19:55Who were you with?
19:55The Daily Mail.
19:58A lot of people were upset today about how their 401ks were doing.
20:01Do you have investments?
20:02Were you looking at them?
20:03Are you worried?
20:03No, I think our markets are going to boom.
20:05We've got to give it a little chance.
20:06But we're taking in jobs, and we're taking in industry,
20:09and we're taking in trillions of dollars.
20:12I think — I think our markets are going to boom.
20:15Got to give it a little bit of time.
20:17But they've already started construction on numerous plants.
20:21Soon it'll be many, many plants.
20:23All over the country, they're going.
20:24And so you've got to give —
20:26You've got to give that —
20:27You've got to give that a little time.
20:29I haven't checked my 401k.
20:31Thank you very much, everybody.
20:31Sir, sir, one question on the Fed.
20:33A lot of money markets are now pricing in more Fed cuts this year.
20:36Well, one thing I like is interest rates going down.
20:38I see that happening.
20:40You know what's beautiful is interest rates go down.
20:44I like — I like groceries going down.
20:47I like eggs going down, if you look at it.
20:50And very importantly, the gasoline prices are going down.
20:53So a lot of good things are happening.
20:55Thank you very much.
20:57Don't miss out.
