WATCH: Calare MP Andrew Gee makes campaign promise for a Veterans' and Families' Wellbeing Centre in the Central West.
Transcript
00:00They are funded by the Australian Government and once a decision is made to fund a centre
00:10and hubs, expressions of interest are sought from ex-service organisations and other organisations
00:18who serve veterans.
00:19They don't have to be ex-service organisations, but many of them are.
00:23And then they put in proposals to the Federal Government and the Government takes a look
00:27at which is the best.
00:28So it may involve new buildings, it may involve repurposing existing buildings and those proposals
00:34and business cases which would come in would then have the proposals for all of the communities
00:40involved, the smaller hubs as well.
00:42So it would be then a question of working with our local veteran community once a decision
00:48was made to fund these hubs and make sure that we had the best possible result and the
00:53best possible business cases submitted.
00:55I think it would be a real boost for our local veteran community and it would be used
01:00by veterans from all over the region.
