00:00Ryan Coogler said that this is more than just a vampire horror, so how would you describe this film?
00:06This is a dynamic original thriller that has horror elements and musical elements,
00:13but this film is a work of art that is also a popcorn movie that will challenge you to participate,
00:20laugh, be loud in the theater, be scared in the theater. This movie wants you to be a part of it
00:26and for that it lands on you and makes you want to see it multiple times.
00:31I'm so confident of that. And I know so many other elements that are a part of this as well,
00:35a big one being music, so can you talk a little bit about how music really fits into the
00:40significance of this story? You couldn't make this film without the music and because of Ryan's
00:47upbringing he grew up hearing about listening to the blues the same way I did because his
00:51grandparents are from Mississippi and my parents are from Mississippi. So this is one of those
00:56things that I think he said it's a love letter to cinema, but it's also a love letter to his
01:00family in the sense that so many elements of what he grew up with he was able to incorporate in this
01:06film and they all work together seamlessly and that's hard to do. It speaks to his genius as an
01:12auteur. 100%. What was a highlight of working with Ryan Coogler on this set? Watching someone
01:20at the peak of his game. He's a young man and making a film like this requires a lot of stamina
01:27and the fact that he has an athletic background and a collaborative background and the fact that
01:31he produces with his wife, his mama came to set, it just made us all feel like we were a part of
01:36the family. It's such a family affair. We're so excited to get the cat out of the bag tonight,
01:42so congrats again. Take care. See it on the biggest screen you can see it on. Go on IMAX,
01:47biggest screen in your neighborhood. Go see Sinners. Get it.
