00:00I, Richard Thomas Chesterfield, of Chestnut House, Pembroke, Parscales, Wissendine, in
00:07the County of Rutland, do solemnly declare that I will well and truly serve the King's
00:13Majesty in the office of High Sheriff of the County of Rutland, and promote His Majesty's
00:20profit in all things that belong to my office as far as I legally can or may. I will preserve
00:28the King's rights and all that belongs to the Crown, and I will process all the King's
00:33writs according to the best of my skill and knowledge. I will do right as well to poor
00:40as to rich in all things pertaining to my office. I will do no wrong to any person for
00:46any gift, reward, promise, or favour, and I will treat all people equally, respecting
00:53the differences and diversities of our communities. I will support and encourage all who give
01:00of their time, skill, and commitment for the benefit of others. I will lay aside all private
01:07prejudices and political interests. I will promote the peace, well-being, and prosperity
01:14of this County and all its people. I will disturb no person's right, and will truly
01:22faithfully support the judiciary and all who maintain the King's peace, who administer
01:27justice, and who protect and support their fellow citizens. I will uphold the ancient
01:34office of High Sheriff with selflessness, integrity, and leadership. I will truly and
01:41diligently uphold the good laws and statutes of this realm, and in all things well and
01:48truly behave myself in my office with the honour of the King and the good of his subjects,
01:54and discharge my obligations according to the best of my skill and power. And I do solemnly
