00:00So we're going to talk about Suits LA, your character Rick to me feels like the moral
00:04compass of the show. What's it like to play someone who is like so by the book in a way?
00:08Um yeah I mean it's really boring to do that I'm just kidding. No it's fun because I get to like
00:15because he does have such a strong moral code and this code of ethics and to juxtapose that
00:22into the world of Hollywood where people do not share those ethics and beliefs um it creates a
00:27lot of challenges is that that's what you want you want you want obstacles as an actor you know
00:31you want to try to be overcoming something so if it was too easy it wouldn't be fun it wouldn't be
00:35dramatic um wouldn't be funny so yeah it's it's it's it's great it's really fun and I'm always
00:40trying to like assuage my co-workers to not do the right do the wrong thing and do the right thing um
00:48so I kind of think of Rick as like he's like trying to keep his integrity in this in this
00:53like snake bit. Yeah but I feel like they keep putting you in these situations in which you're
00:58getting pushed to do something like a little bit off book how can you tease a little bit without
01:03giving too much away how Rick is going to continue to get pushed as the season goes on? Yeah I mean
01:08well I think what has been so fun for me is that they've leaned into the comedy for me um so I get
01:14to like in this next episode I get to do a lot of comedic stuff um what can I tell you without
01:19getting fired um I don't really want to give storylines away um because I'm not allowed to
01:25NBC will kill me but um yeah I mean definitely the romantic thing is a storyline uh with you
01:32know there's been some history with my character and that and and Lex Scott Davis character Erica
01:38Rollins so that gets uh there's more there's more meat on the bone for that um but yeah there's just
01:43there's a lot of drama and comedy. Well since you brought it up let's talk about the the romance
01:47aspect so that was a major reveal which I mean yeah kind of saw that one coming you did all right
01:52not that I saw that it was the history but it was like I was like oh something yeah there's some
01:56tension here how does that change you do you think going forward their relationship especially now
02:03that they're kind of working against each other? Yeah that's well that's what's so fun about this
02:06uh this world is that like they're all lawyers so even in love there's it's everything's a
02:11negotiation and everybody's trying to win and they're very smart and they're very quick and
02:15they're very witty um so it's very it's just really fun to play every scene takes like five
02:21different turns um yeah the stuff with Erica and and Rick is really fun because they're they're
02:28both highly ambitious lawyers who are trying coveting the same position to be the head of
02:33entertainment law um and but they just have completely different worldviews and ways of
02:38going about it and Rick is the type of guy that goes in first in the morning to the office last
02:43one to leave has a great relationship with his clients knows that knows their work he's very
02:48familiar reads the scripts reads the contracts he's like he's a workhorse and Eric I think is
02:52more just like pure ambition like we'll get try to get ahead no matter what the cost but doesn't
02:58really um and it's it's revealed in the last episodes like she doesn't even know that much
03:03about entertainment she just likes this to succeed um so it's it's there's a lot of push and pull
03:09with our characters to switch subjects a little bit um we have a lot of one tree hill fans great
03:14in the office yeah um huge news what happened we heard there's a good reboot coming oh well
03:20i don't know if that's real though is it do you know maybe it might be what do you know you know
03:24more than i do i know i might but i don't know we hear that something happening we hear that
03:29something's happening what do you hear what do you hear break it here why are you shy no i just
03:32hear that there might be something what did you hear i'm not in one tree hill family what did
03:38you hear but i heard that they're trying to do something i heard that too okay but that was a
03:42while ago yeah but we still need to know if you want to do it oh would i do it yeah i mean i love
03:46the show i love the i don't i'm gonna say this i don't know if it's real like i just don't know
03:51if it's real so that's why i'm asking like is there something happening um yeah i loved that
03:56show i love the fan base has stuck with me throughout all my projects though like sophia
04:00bush and i did my movie junction together you know i love i'm friends with james i'm friends
04:04with hillary i love that cast i love that character um and i would love to yeah i'd love
04:09to reprise it if there was an opportunity that was real i don't know if it's real yeah okay okay
04:15i haven't heard anything i was gonna say are they asking you to return no because there's nothing
04:19to return to um what was yeah right next week next week it's gonna mean an after that's like
04:24brian greenberg i'm not being coy like i honestly don't know like i'm not involved no that's but
04:30okay but it's good to know that you're willing to i think it's great yeah okay cool it's cool
04:34do you have a favorite part or like memory from that from what one tree hill um i think like just
04:41being able to play my music on that show was really cool like i got to perform some original
04:46stuff on there like i recorded my song someday and then that was really cool because it like
04:50launched me into having a somewhat of a music career where i would tour and i would play with
04:54gavin the gra and and and joy and we would go out and tie the hilton and we would do these like
04:59great tours together and play like really big stages and that was really fun like i
05:04was thinking about the music part of it
