A look at a standout performance in the back line against Everton.
Transcript
00:00Yeah, looking at Curtis Jones, we've obviously mentioned he's had a fantastic season on all
00:05fronts, used as a right-back in the Merseyside Derby. Do you feel for this run-in, in terms
00:11of filling in for the likes of Trent and Gerald Quantz, that he's going to be a viable option
00:17at right-back? I mean, it's obviously not his ideal position, but he was good enough
00:22there in the Merseyside Derby.
00:24He was more than good enough, to be honest, for Vufors. He was tremendous. He was my man
00:27of the match. That's not a slot about it, whether how long he'd been planning to play
00:35Curtis Jones there, because before the Carnaval Cup final, when Alexander-Arnold had cut up
00:40Bradley, I would suggest that it was a possibility. He said that he'd been looking at it since
00:49the first half of the season, maybe playing Jones there for his creativity, his ability
00:54on the ball. To be honest with you, that's what you expect from Curtis Jones. He regards
00:59himself as a No. 10 or a No. 8, so he's going to be good on the ball. I think defensively
01:05is where I was really impressed. Okay, he went playing against the most trickiest of
01:09wingers in Charlie Alcaraz forever, and whatever he did was superb. He made a couple of really
01:16well-timed tackles, a big block from an Alcaraz shot. I think it was in stoppage time where
01:23a looping ball comes into the box. I have a side of him, a James Tarkowski and Gerard
01:29Bramfwaite, and he watches the ball to perfection and clears it over his head.
01:35Is he a viable option for the rest of the season? Liverpool want the best options back.
01:40The one Trent Alexander-Arnold back, I think he might be a couple of weeks away. Conor
01:43Bradley is closing in. It might just be course after course, to be honest with you. If Liverpool
01:49know that they're going to have a team, they need to break down. Yes, Bradley, who's coming
01:54back, they're going to have to be careful with him, but he'll give you more of an overlap
01:58and out less, whereas Curtis Jones, you know, can keep the ball ticking. It's a good option
02:03for Arnold Slott to have. Going away to Fulham, does he look at that threat that Fulham can
02:08carry on the attack? I think maybe away game, I might try and put Gerard Alcantar there
02:14instead, but massive credit for Curtis Jones. That win wasn't meant a lot for him being from the city.
