00:00And let's just look at Jared Brantwaite in terms of his Everton career.
00:04I mean, obviously last season he was incredible and that sort of huge price tag was put on him.
00:09He obviously missed out on the last England squad in terms of Thomas Tuchel's first camp.
00:15Where does it sort of leave him in terms of his future career?
00:19Because, you know, you looked at him last season and you thought maybe, you know,
00:23he could be the real future of the England backline and Everton have a real gem on their hands.
00:27And, you know, what's sort of not worked as well this season for him?
00:31Because it's not been as standout as a campaign, but he has still played a fair amount of minutes.
00:41I don't think it was straightforward from the start this season because he underwent that operation in the summer.
00:48It took longer than expected to come back.
00:51And then when he did come back, he was back on the treatment table again.
00:55And then it took a while for him to get his rhythm back.
00:59He has got that back recently, but I still think it took longer than expected for him to really hit his peak again.
01:12But he's playing in a side that sees very few goals and you can understand why he was being disappointed not to have been in that England squad.
01:19Especially when you're seeing someone like Gerald Ponser, who's not played much at all for Liverpool this season in the Premier League.
01:26Gerald Grant-Thwaites has played when he's been fit, probably almost every minute for Everton.
01:33Left-footer, so it gives that additional balance to the squad.
01:40And our report, as you mentioned, saying that he may be asked to consider his future at Everton if he wants to get into the England squad.
01:49I think that's a little bit of hyperbole, to be honest with you, because John Pickford has never lost his place as England's number one while Everton have been battling relegation for how many seasons?
02:04There have been plenty of Everton players in England's squad in recent years.
02:12Phil Jagielka, Liam Baines, Dominic Albert, who was obviously in England scoring all those goals before the Euros.
02:20Another thing is maybe the captains, England's under-21s, in the second game against Portugal and with the Euros in the summer, the under-21s.
02:31Maybe the plan is to have kept them there and got them around the group again because England want to go and win that tournament.
02:41And get them integrated again with the players to go and win that tournament.
02:47Because if Gerard Bramford is going to be a big player for England in the future, then tournament experience, no matter what level you're at, is absolutely vital.
02:57And if he can go and win another under-21s like he did a couple of years ago with England, then that would be big for England's future.
03:06It will be disappointing because there are centre-halves. The one for me was Gerard Kwan, so it was a surprise that he was head of Bramford.
03:17But Everton are clearly on a much better trajectory under David Moyes and I don't think Gerard Bramford will think,
03:25I'll have to leave because I can't play for England. That's a bit ridiculous for me.
03:31But if an offer came in the summer, would Everton have to consider it?
03:36I think every player has his price. David Moyes has come out and said that clubs will need a big bag of money.
03:42And it wouldn't be a surprise if Everton were looking to tie down Bramford in the next few months to a new deal.
03:49I didn't sign that one all that long ago, but if you want to keep your assets with Everton over the PSR issues for the most part,
03:57then they'll want to build a team around a player like Gerard Bramford.
