Daniel Wales and Lee Sobot discuss the importance of Willy Gnonto.

00:00I think if we look at one positive, perhaps from Saturday, that is that is Willie Nunn.
00:05So obviously he's had his injury troubles this season, obviously just coming back from
00:09one as well, but a great strike to put them level late on in the game against Swansea.
00:15And do you think he's now in line for a start going into the next fixture?
00:19Yeah, 100%. I think he probably would have started at the weekend, to be honest, if it
00:23wasn't for that ankle injury on international duty. I mean, everything, everything would
00:26have suggested that. He obviously came off the bench at QPR, you know, after poor performance
00:30from Aronson, really. And it's funny, really, we're talking about a change now coming just
00:34when Aronson's gone unscored, which is the one thing we said he needed to do was to get
00:37end product, get a goal or get an assist and obviously going after 35 seconds against Swansea.
00:42But Nunn had such a big impact in that game at QPR. And, you know, obviously, I think
00:47because of the ankle injury, that's probably why he was on the bench. I think otherwise
00:50it might well have been a change there. And one minute with him coming on, absolutely
00:54blockbuster finish, you know, and it just looks like making things happen, really. It's
00:58incredible, really. I think Aronson's had 37 consecutive starts, you know, which is
01:01an awful lot of starts in a row. And, you know, Daniel Farker has really kept the faith
01:05in him. And, you know, obviously, he deserves enormous credit for his work rate and his
01:08discipline and et cetera. But the facts are that Nomto just produces more of an end product
01:13really and stuff. And, you know, he's looked that way for some time. And whilst he's always
01:18been considered a winger by most people, he has played number 10 before. He's played it
01:21for his national team as well. And it just looks the obvious thing to do, you know.
01:24But, I mean, as I said, Daniel Farker is very loyal of his players. He has been and is with
01:27Lille Amelie. So I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Nomto will come into the side,
01:32but it just looks like the obvious thing to happen, really. And, you know, this is a big
01:36player, like, who obviously, like, we've been talked up as, like, potentially a really good
01:39player in the Premier League, you know. So, I mean, now's the time to make it to shine
01:42really at this level. And, yeah, I think, you know, getting him in the side could be
01:46key between now and the end of the season. And it might be the difference in going up
01:50or not.
01:51Yeah. It seems odd to say that now after, sort of, all the wins they've had against
01:57big teams that were now in this position. Again, they had such a points gap as well.
02:01And obviously, that hasn't gone in a flash, to be honest. But obviously, it is good that
02:06Nomto, of course, put that performance in against Swansea. And so, at least there is
02:11some sort of a positive that if he's starting from now on, you might start to see creativity
02:18and sort of come back to Leeds a little bit. And obviously, he's the one who's been there
02:22and done it for Leeds in the Premier League, as well as the Championship. So, you know,
02:25he's got that quality. And if he's on form, he might just be maybe the key towards the
02:30end of this season. Right. If we look ahead to Luton, that is what's next for Leeds. Luton,
02:38of course, a side in the Premier League just last season, and yet have had an awful year
02:42this year. And the Championship, you know, could go down. We don't know yet. Now, you
02:48mentioned a stat off air, didn't you, Lee, about Luton-Leeds? Do you want to repeat that?
02:54Well, it's obviously second bottom versus second, isn't it? So, people will look at
02:58that straight away and think, you know, it's like poles apart. But the facts are, over
03:01the last five games in the form table, Leeds are, what are they, Leeds are 12th in the
03:05form table over the last five games, whereas Luton are fifth. So, in the last five games,
03:08it's actually fifth v 12th, which is quite staggering, really. And that kind of, it kind
03:12of sums it all up, really, basically. You've got two teams at opposite ends of the table.
03:16You've got one, you know, who seems to have really turned the corner in Luton, having
03:19won three out of the last five, and one who was sort of, you know, very much stuttering
03:23along, really. So, yeah, it's another really hard one to call. I think this, obviously,
03:28you know, I think if Leeds were flying and on song and, you know, had a string of wins
03:32to the name, you would fully expect them to go there and win and win by a few goals. But,
03:36again, so many facets. And this almost feels like we're talking about the Portsmouth game
03:40beforehand. I think we said similar things about the Portsmouth game before, you know,
03:43and other games as well, even QPR. And you just hope you're wrong again. But you can
03:47see why, like, there's jeopardy in this one and why it's another potential banana skin.
03:51You've got the 1230 kickoff again, you know, and there's just no hiding from it. Leeds
03:55haven't got a good record in them recently, just haven't. There's no doubt about that.
03:58Obviously, it's a long trip as well down to Luton. Obviously, Luton are in form, they've
04:03won three out of the last five, you know, then you've got the question marks about Leeds' recent
04:06form. So there's various things stacking up there. But you would just hope that the bottom
04:10line is really here is that, you know, without any disrespect to Luton, that Leeds have got
04:15better players and those better players turn up on the day and just produce what they're capable
04:19of. And they're going to have to start doing it soon because they don't start doing it soon.
04:22It'll get to the stage where we're recording these shows and Leeds are third, you know,
04:25and then they really are chasing down. It's a huge opportunity because the kickoff at 1230,
04:31the same time as Burnley go to Coventry, which is obviously a huge game.
04:37Everybody was hoping for a favour from Coventry against Sheffield United,
04:40but that was obviously a way, you know, this might be a bit different at Coventry.
