00:06steers topping at 500 cents a kilogram live weight and heifers at 346 cents.
00:11Only 669 head were yarded with the number of vendors having to withdraw due to wet weather.
00:17But for those who made it, the rewards were certainly there.
00:20Lovely rain in the South Durnett so that's great to see.
00:24Has it mostly been good for producers?
00:27Yeah, it's been fantastic around here. We really needed the rain. We haven't had too much.
00:33As we move further to the coast they've had a lot more rain.
00:36In the North and the South Durnett, particularly the North Durnett, everyone was actually hanging out looking for some rain before wintertime.
00:44So it's well and truly under due.
00:46That's good news. And how's the market been today?
00:49The market's been very strong today.
00:5250 cents plus increase so far in the steers from what we've seen in the recent sales.
01:00And there's a lot of good quality cattle here too.
01:04Some of these cattle are probably 80, 90 cents dearer.
01:08Well I tell you what, it might have been slushy and rain and tough for the trucks and the vendors to get them in.
01:14But I tell you what, it really has paid dividends for our vendors here today.
01:18Great work to them and our truck drivers.
01:21The horse market is on fire here today after this rain.
01:24Backgrounders, restockers, everyone's having a go.
01:27And look, these wiener steers are probably up every bit of 50 or 60 cents in recent trends.
01:33And I tell you what, we really are set up for our winter now with the rain we've had.
